Homer utilizes different styles of literary devices to portray his explanation on what a hero means to him through three different characters: Odysseus, Penelope, and Telemachus. The book takes place on an Island in Greece, specifically, the protagonist’s wanderings cover the Aegean and surrounding seas. The story eventually ends in Ithaca, in northwestern Greece.
