The one art work that stood out to me in course semester was Mona Lisa painting by Leonardo da Vinci. Leonardo da Vinci was an artist, a philosopher and a scientist. Leonardo grew up in a very rich environment because his father was a successful government official. Leonardo's father Ser Piero da Vinci was a great help to Leonardo and his art. He also gave him some money to pay for a teacher of the fine arts. Leonardo's mother was a peasant working for Ser Piero da Vinci, her name was Catarina da Vinci. Leonardo da Vinci had nine brothers and two sisters in all. Ser Piero da Vinci had 4 wives, the second wife gave birth to Leonardo. Leonardo's family gave him lots of support that helped him paint. He was recognized as one of greatest artist during this lifetime. Leonardo started painting at the age of about 3 or 4 and became a master at the age of about 28 years. There are tons of people who think the Mona Lisa should stay in Italy because it was painted in Italy. Mona Lisa was a rich merchant seller's wife. Mona Lisa is short for Madonna Lisa. The Mona Lisa is now held in the Louvre. Leonardo started the painting of Madonna Lisa when she was only 24 and finished the painting when she was only 30. The Mona Lisa is beyond any price of money. First Madonna was paying Leonardo to paint her but then he painted her for free. Leonardo watched her mysterious smile to. When Leonardo started the Mona Lisa he did 3 hours a day 7 day a week for three months strait he would rarely take time off. After he finished the Mona Lisa he showed it to the Duke and put it in a special place where people could see it but it did not stay there for very long. He toured with it because the people said that it was great, so he toured with it and some other paintings. Leonardo went from Rome all the way back to Florence and sold many paintings.
