Some things can symbolize that hotels are awful and horrid. No locks on doors, it can result in getting burglarized, and so can much more things happen that will make you possibly get robbed. You will get a hotel and then get robbed after checking out the unclean pool but, you didn't know it was unclean though. Drug deals, unsuspecting things, parties, suicide, and murder can happen in hotels when other creepy people get a hotel room. Even reporters and scientists have came into hotels and shown how mucky it actually is, people were shown on television how dirty hotels actually are. Be cautious and always have fun at the same time in hotels! There are many negative effects of getting a hotel, like the slight chance of getting robbed, it’s not clean, and you don’t know what other people did before you got the hotel room.
Reports have shown that hotel rooms aren't cleaned well, probably because the cleaners aren't paid enough to clean nicely. Maybe even in the vents a lonely, depressed animal died. It omits a smell to make you get really disgusted. It’s scent will kill you like it is a rotting carcass on the side of the road. There have been many reports on T.V. that hotel rooms aren’t clean. The cleaner will just hang around in their room until their shift is over. The rooms never get cleaned to the full potential, they just may clean the spots they see, but they don’t clean anything they don't see. The cleaners sometimes won't take the sheets down to the washer. Would you like to have a hotel room with any disease around the corner?
People need to be very cautious about going to hotels on getting robbed, some hotels are so crummy that they never put locks on the doors, and if they do have locks on it, the cleaners will rob important items that will make you cry if you lost your stuff. The lock can be picked with a credit card easily, except for the fancy, overpriced hotel rooms with card scanners that will prevent any robbery, but 150 dollars a night? Reports have shown that many cleaners will rob items that you don’t realise, they might take a battery pack away from you, even take your food you bought. You will have to work and work until you can pay the hotel back with the job that pays eight dollars and
In fact, McGregor should accept Alward’s offer but under the following two conditions: one, guest service will be limited so that McGregor can lower his costs; two, this is a special one-time deal that will never happen again for Alward or anyone else. Considering that McGregor and his wife run the motel, which is their source of livelihood, these two conditions are reasonable. In addition, McGregor should make sure to ask Alward to impress upon his church group that the fact they are paying half the regular motel price means that the church group will receive half the regular service! This means that the church group guests must be clean and tidy, and they must not depend on the motel’s maintenance people. In theory, none of this should be a problem, especially with a group of church people, who are supposed to be kind, understanding,
Tourism is one of the most international industries. Globalisation is the gradual forging of links between groups and societies until they finally reach around the globe in several directions (Smith, D,2006). Globalization is one of the serious challenges facing managers today. It is critical to develop services that are able to satisfy a highly diverse customer base (Ueltschy et al., 2007) Now to keep up with the rising levels of globalization in the hotel industry, there’s a need to understand not only the positive, but also the negative impacts of globalisation. I’ll also talk about the growth and rise of one of the most respected brands in the hospitality industry - the Hilton Hotels. Throughout the evolution of this famous organization, the Hilton has
A doorman can please the customer with a smile and a few words of welcome, but one surly waiter can kill the effect. Or if we keep an executive waiting in his suite in his underwear for his only suit to come back from a one-hour pressing, we could lose a lifetime customer worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. No hotel, however splendid, looks good to someone whose day it has ruined. For example, lodging manager usually work long and irregular hours including weekends, evenings and most public holidays, usually works indoors, and from an
The service design, the design of processes, and the use of operation resources can have a significant impact on the employees (Johnston & Clark, 2008). Therefore, room attendants should not be overloaded. Apart from normal cleaning duties, housekeeping have “special task of the week” emphasize on extra cleaning task such as spring-clean the bathroom. Normally to complete the task thoroughly, it will overtake the standard cleaning time and cause staffs to finish work late. The volume of work is not match with the time and staffs are working in rush thus reduce the quality of cleanliness.
About half of the nations estimated 11.9 million unauthorized immigrants live in just four states: California, Texas, Florida, and New York. FAIR's estimate of the number of illegal aliens in the work force is about 8.5 million jobs encumbered by illegal alien workers. It is still hard to be able to provide for yourself or their family even with a job, seeing as they are paid lower than what a U.S. citizen would be paid. The hotel would benefit them because they would not have to pay any sort of electric bill, water bill, etc. I would say to charge them at most $50 every two nights of them being there.
The vision/mission behind the Good Hotel concept is to maintain its identity as a “hotel with a conscience” – encompassing a positive attitude, environmental sensitive, and philanthropy. The intent of the vision is to inspire the “good in us all”. (Pearce, 2012, p. 10-1, 10-2)

Sometimes you gotta spice things up, and hotel room sex can do just that for you. Sometimes a change of scenery is all you need to make your sex life just that much more exciting. Throughout the years, lodging has changed greatly compared to then. Reliable changes have been made such as better beds, more sanitary rooms and just further maintenance toward the overall stay. Also it is much easier to find safe and clean hotels, unlike before. Choices upon choices are brought to everyone. Before, bedrooms were not kept very clean or didn’t look to appealing to say the least. Most rooms, without a doubt, looked like hospitals or jails. Then there’s service. Although we don’t know whether the service from workers were poor or not in the past, having superior manners toward customers is a must now.
How is the process of me learning how to play “Hotel California” related to psychology? Well, it’s related because the motivation, self-actualization, esteem, belonging & love, safety, physiological, stress, and coping are all involves with psychology. In psychology, the word motivation means “Involves goal-directed behavior” (Weiten 290). The motivation I got that drives me to achieve my SMART goal was my brother. I wanted to be as good as him, and for me to be good I have to learn several songs to enhance my skill to be at the level he is, or even better. Self-actualization mean “Realization of potential” (Weiten 377). When I first started practicing “Hotel California,” I didn’t realized I have the potential to play this song, or even
The Hotel Monaco also trains their staff to uphold the highest standards of ethics and laws that govern the hospitality industry. Lodging has changed and improved a lot in the last 100 years. When hotels were first becoming popular in the 1900’s people had to share rooms with other strangers because hotels then, did not have a variety of rooms where you can get your own. They had very uncomfortable and small beds in very small room, most of them did not have a bathroom in the hotel room (picture 1). The hotels replaced the old beds with comfortable ones (picture 2, now) so people can enjoy and allow them to sleep comfortably. In 2004, after three years of declining revenues, the U.S. lodging industry returns to positive profit growth. They made luxury hotels so more people can be attracted to them, they have much more independent space with their own bathrooms and TVs
No doubt, the strong bleach smell that permeated the building came from the floor cleaner that was used. The mopping echoed throughout the sparsely furnished terminal, bouncing off each of the high, stark walls. The scent and the sound of water hitting the floor made my stomach do sickening somersaults. Although it was not just me that this was killing. The conspiracy among my translator and I was that the airport terminal was designed to keep people from sleeping. Or, staying any amount of time in a comfortable manner. It was even made so that one could not wash up. The bathroom faucets were short and the sink bowl was so shallow that someone could not dream of washing their hair. A deal must have been made with the local hotels. Hotel gives a bit of funding, but only if the airport is designed to drive people onto a plane or into a hotel. I suppose normally, the airport terminal would have been a fine modern facility. Not a thing to complain about. However, at night, we travelers, weary from global flights and sleepless nights, must suffer through the bright fluorescent lights used in place of ceiling tiles. Myself more than the others. The longer I was in higher elevation the more my headache began to cross into the realm of migraine. Each of us seated on the uncomfortable straight-backed long bench had our stories. There was five of us, my translator, a man and his two children, and of course myself. We all had our travel stories and as the night went on and we swapped them. I found out theirs to be much more interesting than mine. I could not fall asleep, even though my flight was hours off. I had not slept for some time and if I did, I would not wake up till well after my flight left. So, I persevered though my pain and lost myself in finding out about my friends for the next five hours. Graciously, these beautiful people talked in soft, hushed
The waiters dressed formally with no dirt on their uniforms. Nevertheless, I wanted to be sure, and the best way to determine the cleanliness of a restaurant is by going to the Restroom. Then I payed the restroom a visit. The first thing that I noticed was the fresh fruits smell. The second thing that I noticed that on the sink there were towels and disposable paper towels. Using a towel is better for the involvement of course. However, I believe paper towels is much more cleaner. Even though that all the towels would be professionally cleaned after their first use. The cleanliness of the floor and sink was above normal. Moreover, there was a sing mandates all the employees to wash their
Young travels like myself aka millennials are starting to pay attention to the little things, such as complimentary items in our rooms, if the hotel is recycling, and so on. I run track for the University of Las Vegas so being that I’m apart of a collegiate team we travel very frequently. We travel from our neighboring state California all the way to Florida. The hotels that we stay in are usually unpredictable. One weekend our team might be staying in the W in Detroit, the next weekend we might stay in Marriot Fairfield in Washington State. The more I travel the more observant I become, especially of my hotel rooms. One thing that particularly stands out to me every time when checking into a new hotel room is the sign on my night stand that I would be able to put on the outside of my door to communicate with housekeeping, also known as a door hanger. A door hanger is a paper, plastic, cardboard, or wood sign generally rectangular shaped that hangs from a knob of a door to perform some type of communication to the guest or staff. A door hanger usually tells housekeeping that a room needs to be cleaned or the guest staying in the room want privacy. Depending on where you stay they might have paper or plastic door signs, some hotels have neither. I am on a team of 50 girls who live spontaneously. Sometimes they find humor in giving people a hard time. With that being said please do not be alarmed on what I am about to tell you. When my teammates see signs placed on the
These days, there have been a number of hotels in various cities, towns and countries. From when I was young to now, I have visited many inns since I loved to travel to somewhere. I had any feeling and impression about hotels where I have been before I became eighteen years old. Hotels were just hotels that I needed to stay for the night. No more than that I thought. Before I went to Canada to study English in 2011, my family had a plan to travel somewhere and stay in a hotel for my farewell in Korea. After we visited many attractions, we were heading to the hotel that we made a reservation. When I saw the entrance of the hotel, I was surprised at first, and when we went inside of the hotel, I was surprised again. For two days, I was very impressed and I thought a lot in positive ways. I always had a desire to visit again and I wanted to get a hotel like that inn. It was the first time for me to know what I want to become. The trip to the hotel was totally changed my life and my dream.
