1.3. Objectives of the Study
Before going to the organization I set my objectives that guided me until I finished the report. It always kept me focused to be on right track. The objectives are:
1.3.1. General Objectives:-
• To bridge the gap between the theoretical knowledge and practical functioning.
• Sound understanding of the corporate world.
• Familiarizing with accounting concepts.
• Putting to use accumulated theoretical knowledge.
1.3.2. Specific Objectives:-
• To apply instantly what I have learned from the observations.
• To identify the major problems faced by the insurance industry.
• To know the changes those have already been brought and also need to be brought in ITGI.
• To learn the accounting processes at C.S.C. level.
1.4. Methodology
This report is primarily based on my experiences from the day to day official work under the department of finance & accounts at the head office of Peoples Insurance Company Limited. As my research method, I have used qualitative data collected and some secondary information from the annual reports (2013-2014) of the company & web information from the related companies.
I have used both primary and secondary data in this report. The data were collected by different ways:
1.4.1. Primary Data:-
Data which have been collected primarily and not taken from any other existing sources are called Primary Data. I have collected every single databy asking questions to the employees of IFFCO-TOKIO& through direct
4. The key methods of collecting primary data (1.1). Justify the choice and application of data collection methods and research instruments to explore an area under investigation (2.3). Evaluate their relative strengths and weaknesses (2.4)
For my paper I will be discussing in depth the responses to the questions posed at the end of the study as follows. What kinds of problems are inherent in Jolene’s research project? How would these problems affect the research results? How would you solve these problems? What should Stefanie do? What would the consequences of these actions be for Jolene? For Dr. Lee? For Stefanie
Primary data is when you collect and gather the data first hand in the form of a questionnaire, survey, telephone or interview. This data is specific to the company and did not exist beforehand. Sometimes referred to as field research.
Primary data is data which your business or you find and gather data to analyse. By you or the business finding the data this makes it primary because the data belongs to you making it original. The different ways to gather data is surveys and interviews by collecting data like this makes it original and reliable.
Refer as needed to the material in Chapters 12 and 13 of the textbook. Keep the following tips in mind as you research data, as well as organize, analyze, interpret, and illustrate these data:
Your report should be approximately 1000 words and that includes graphics as tables and charts to illustrate the information collected and analyses. Your report must be written in clear and concise English so as to be readable by diverse groups.
The secondary data comes from report, journals, online database. The main secondary data sources in our project including but not limited to:
The information used in this report was gained from several different sources. For example, I have used information from my P4 survey, as well as my P3, M2 presentation and my M1 table of various data collection methods.
(A systematic analysis of primary data to identify relationships between patterns, trends, errors and anomalies is to be included. Secondary data should be included where appropriate and its source clearly stated. Analysis and comparison of both types of data should also be included.)
Hooker Furniture Corporation uses a multi-step format for what they call the Statement of Income (Income
Another advantage of this report is its use of quantitative research. The selection of charts, tables and graphs are highly creditable in terms of measuring validity and reliability. It provides data with precise and non-bias numerical findings.
The total amount of surveys to be analyzed was 110, and it was decided to break up each question as much as possible in order to make it easier to analyze.
It can be trusted as it can be traced back to where the data has come from, what has been done to the data to process it and how it has been collected. Therefore the data can be considered authentic and unbiased. The negatives of primary data is that it can be time consuming and expensive to collect as well as to process the information. However, to make up for these costs businesses often sale on information to recover some of the money lost for the
Primary data- this data does not exist, it requires the researcher to communicating with people or making observation about people and situation in order to generate the data. Although it is much harder and time consuming compare to secondary data, it is the most valuable resource for the company since it targets the specific problem that the company has.
The objective of this chapter is to describe the procedures used in the analysis of the data and present the main findings. It also presents the different tests performed to help choose the appropriate model for the study. The chapter concludes by providing thorough statistical interpretation of the findings.
