Since the Ocean is the largest biome in the world, the climate is from -40 degrees fahrenheit to more than 100 degrees. The average temperature is 39 degrees fahrenheit, but it is much warmer near the Equator where the sun rays can hit the ocean and make it warmer. The coldest is in the North and the South Poles where the water is close to freezing, also known as glaciers, because sunlight isn’t directly hitting it with it’s sun rays. The ocean can also be harsh, because of ocean currents. The ocean currents create big hurricanes and typhoons. Although the climate can ve extreme it has little effect on life. Most life forms have adapted to the ocean. Plants have also adapted to deep places where sunlight doesn't reach. These life forms in the ocean have adapted, so the climate …show more content…
There are 5 main types of oceans: the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Arctic, and the Southern ocean. The Pacific ocean separate Asia from the Americas. The Pacific is the biggest ocean on Earth. The Atlantic separate India from Africa. The Indian Ocean is the second largest ocean on Earth. The Arctic borders the northern continents and enclose the far North including the North pole. The Arctic is the smallest ocean in the world. The Southern ocean extends from the coast of Antarctica, and is declared a fifth world ocean.
There are thousands and thousands of animals that live in the ocean. Some of them have gills to help them breathe in the ocean, others, like mammals, have to go to the surface and breathe the air. For example, fish and sharks have gills, and whales and dolphins have holes called a blowhole to breathe the air. Here are some sea creatures that live in the ocean:
Fish - Sharks, swordfish, tuna, clown fish, stingray, flatfish, eels, seahorse, etc.
Marine Mammals: Blue whales, Seals, walrus, dolphins, manatees, otters, etc.
Mollusks: Octopus, clams, squids, oysters, snails,
It is stunning how without the use of a visual aid, the music shapes such vivid and live imagery, images of his childhood and cars enhance a lot of Frank Ocean's storytelling as he doesn't use cars in the typical Pop/Hip hop way. Instead his cars express a sense of vulnerability and loneliness. He also uses them as method to tell his own stories. Frank Ocean wouldn't be considered a typical superhero, but to me he is one. People think of Frank as this really mysterious and hidden from the world person because of his almost non existent social media presence, besides the fact that he has a Tumblr account, but the reason I feel a closer emotional understanding of his work than most other artists is because of his own personal depth. Frank disappeared
Pollution and the human effect on marine ecosystems has been an issue for decades. Human impact can be found in the most remote places in the oceans in the form of floating trash, habitat destruction, and invasive species. More people should be much more careful about how they treat this wonderful world that we call home and protect what is given to us.
To begin with, if I was currently an advocate for the environment and animals I would first focus on the Orcas, or killer whales, at theme parks, specifically Sea World. First of all, Sea World is inhumane. Five of the Orcas currently at sea world were “whale-napped” from the oceans they called home. For example, Tilikum, one of the most know whales in the Sea World franchise, is now thirty-two years old. He was captured at the age of two by, which means he has been in captivity for thirty years. And, before anyone says Tilikum was injured so they “rescued” him I want to say that it is fact that Tilikum was not injured. He was taken from his family and confined to a tiny tank just so people could make a hefty profit. Also, if the Orcas are
Boston’s Ocean Prime serves upscale and tantalizing steaks and seafood with globally inspired flavors in its sophisticated and relaxing restaurant. A selection from the raw bar, the Hamachi crudo sushi roll with pickled mango and sesame ginger vinaigrette or the Sonoma goat cheese ravioli with mushrooms make exceptional starter choices. Some of Ocean Prime’s specialty entrée dishes include the Chilean sea bass with champagne truffle sauce, the Duroc pork chop with apricot sherry jus and the Freebird Farms chicken with lemon pan jus, all of which can be accompanied by sides like parmesan truffle fries, roasted brussels sprouts and chophouse corn. Prime steaks, like filet mignon, ribeye and strip steaks, come with your choice of “accessories”,
The deep sea is home to many fascinating creatures that have yet to be explored by scientists for their features. These creatures can be seen as special for the way they are able to survive in the extreme sea environments. Three species, in particular, have interested scientists for their own unique ways of adapting: the giant squid, the zombie worm, and the yeti crab. Their ways of adaptations allow them to survive in the intense deep sea environments.
As states in figure 1, the Southern ocean is located in the Southern hemisphere, which surrounds Antarctica. There are many natural resources that can be found in the Southern ocean like whales, seal, fresh water as iceberg, squid, and krill. The Southern ocean is an environment that is a habitat for many types of whale such as the Minke, Right whale, Sei whale, Humpback whale, Fin whale, Killer whale and Blue whale, which are the largest mammal ever lived, it’s bigger than a dinosaur. Closer to the shore Right whale can often be found, they have a large amount of oil, whalebone, blubber and baleen, they are a slow swimmer, making them an easy target for a hunter. Sei whales don’t usually stay in deep are of the ocean. Humpback whale is also
The freezing point of ocean water is 28.4 (°F) this is due to the amount of salt found in the ocean, at least 10 percent of the oceans water freezes and becomes ice, but the only part that freezes is the actual water itself while everything underneath is salt water. The polar ice caps are made out of fresh water, up to 15 percent of the oceans water is always frozen. In the ocean there is around 35 grams of salt for every 1000 units of water.
All of the waters in the Pacifc Ocean remains as calm as the winds blowing the tall grasses on the plains. As the water waves around, a huge camouflages ship, Arabalest, is making way to rendezvous with the team that was supposed to pick up the Reaper, who just bail on her orders.
Failure is in utter abundance throughout humanity. Failure justifies a cause of change, to alter defeat we received for our own betterment. As being a human being, I have experienced failure by the sheer lack of understanding the methodology of the blue abyss: the ocean. I was a wee lad, under the age of eight when I fought the endless beast. It was a vacation, occasions typically used to celebrate the prosperity and successes of a family. Our vacation was to a beach teeming with an abundance of life. Swallows of people suffocated the sand, while the ocean offered it's vast entity to the people. I looked into the ocean, boy to man, and wanted to conqueror the waves. I seized my surfboard, a device constructed to ride the vicious waves of a
On Earth, all the diversity of living beings rely on the environment to survive. Likewise, humans rely on the environment to provide food, water, and shelter as well as resources for existence. With the resources from the environment, humans create man-made products to simplify life, but these products are intensified with chemicals to last longer. Likewise, since the products are either not biodegradable or do not biodegrade quickly, they stay within the environment for long periods of time and are known as debris. This debris affects our environment both on land and in the oceans. According to the article “Thank You Ocean”, the debris that is entered into the ocean, also known as marine debris, is any man-made solid product (thankyouocean.org).
Have you or anyone you know ever wonder how the ocean got made or how it was created. Or if you have ever wondered what animals live in the ocean. Well this is the paper you are looking for. I will tell you about man eating monster beasts that live in the ocean. I also will tell you everything you need to know about the history of the ocean. If you are interested in this kind of stuff and you want to learn about the beasts and the history of the ocean well you better start reading.
Have you ever seen Finding Dory and wondered about all those creatures living under the sea? The ocean is the largest out of all of the ecosystems it is a stretch of sea which is divided geographically into four sections called the Atlantic, Indian, Antarctic, and Arctic Ocean the elements found in the ocean is H2O which makes water and NaCl making sodium chloride but there are main chemicals in sea salt as well such as sulfate magnesium potassium and calcium the ocean gets its saltiness because of when it rains on land the rain water dissolves the minerals from the rock then that rainwater flows into rivers and then to the sea when the water undergoes evaporation it leaves the minerals hence why the ocean is salty. In different parts of
The five types of oceans are the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean, the Arctic Ocean, and the Southern Ocean. The location of the Pacific Ocean is right around between the continents of Asia, North America, Australia, and South America. The location between the Atlantic Ocean is right around between the continents of North America, Europe, South America, and Africa. The location of the Indian Ocean is right around between the continents of Africa, Australia, and Asia. The location of the Arctic Ocean is right around between the continents of North America, Europe, and Asia. The location of the Southern Ocean is right around between one continent of Antarctica and the oceans of the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, and the Indian
Global warming has a plethora of negative effects on the planet, both on the surface and
Why are we focusing on space? It isn't going anywhere but the ocean is going somewhere! everyday we use lots of water, we use it to take showers, we use it to to stay hydrated, we use it for our plants, we use it to make food, plus it is getting evaporated every day by the sun. So soon we may not have our ocean. That’s why we need to explore it before it’s gone. There are many creatures down there that we can find, we can find out more of our planet and we can learn more about our past.
