Overcoming something can be easy or hard, but never impossible. To overcome something that need to know what we doing thats why learning from our mistakes are good. So if the first time they mess up the second time we can learn what we did wrong. Which makes it easy the next time we try to do something or there circumstance again. In “the odyssey” Odysseus makes multiple mistakes but then he realized what he needed to do. So he had learned what he needed to do so he do it the next time and finally achieved what he needed so we should learn from what we have done and fix it so it will be easier. If we can't overcome the obstacle the first time analyze the mistake and fix it. Everyone can overcome an obstacle So in fact they can change and overcome obstacles we just need to capitalize our mistakes. Like Odysseus did in “the odyssey” where he cheats with other girls but then he realizes that he has a family and needs to get home. “Obstacles do not block the path, they are the path” I like this quote because this is true if that isn't an …show more content…
Let's say we are born without an arm are gonna be different and they are gonna be made fun of, and that's something mental humanity has to overcome in our life plus we have to learn to do things with only one arm. That's just an example of what could happen. “I am more than scars.’’ This quote means that the earth are gonna suffer but we can always get over it. Don't think we can't get over something. Everyone will have to face a big obstacle an anyway it might not be big to yourself, but big to someone else because we all have different mentalities, and different ways to get over it. We can have obstacles with multiple people if they got in trouble and help with them that could reflect on yourself. So only be with people that are
Everyone faces struggles at some point in their life, no matter if you are a hero from an old mythical story or a modern day person living in Iowa. Even though the struggles faced by Odysseus and me are different, they have a common overlapping theme that ties them together. Which causes them in turn to be in fact very comparable. Both Odysseus and I face obstacles such as temptation, laziness, and distraction. Although his obstacles come from his want to go back home to Ithaca, mine are from my desire to live a happy and healthy lifestyle.
Even great heroes must face difficult challenges, and even great heroes receive advice on how to overcome them. In “the Odyssey,” written by Homer, the hero Odysseus faced three different adversaries on his way back to Ithaca: the Sirens, Scylla, and Charybdis. The goddess Circe advises Odysseus on how to overcome them.
On the surface level, one could assume that when a person makes a mistake, they have failed. Most would come to the conclusion that if one does not do something correctly then they will have failed at what they were trying to do, and this shows that the first part of this quote is, essentially, accurate. However, when paired with the second part of the quote, the first part becomes clearer. A person that makes a mistake is not necessarily a failure unless they learned nothing from the mistake. Everyone makes mistakes, but that does not make everyone a failure. Being a failure constitutes so much more than making simple mistakes. Unless someone repeatedly makes the same error and does nothing to improve, they should not be considered a failure. This can be exemplified by a rather simple comparison: if one forgets to turn in one assignment for a class, they will not necessarily fail, however, if they constantly do not turn in their assignments, they will most likely end up failing the class. Repetitious errors demonstrate a lack of ability to improve one’s self which probably shows a lack of caring. This would constitute a failure because the person is doing the same thing over and over again without trying anything new that would warrant a different result. Unless a person does not attempt to correct their mistake in any manner, they should not be considered a failure, but if they have gained nothing from the experience, then they are a failure because the opportunity to learn something new was presented to them and they did nothing with it. One mistake does not define a person, but rather the ability to learn or not to learn from mistakes is what defines a
Selflessly Overcoming Obstacles Contrary to popular belief, seemingly devastating hardships motivate people to push themselves away from those very difficulties and fight against them. Far too often, one exhausts all the vitality he finds within himself, struggling to stay afloat on the verge of hopelessness. But just when he almost surrenders, an unexpected wave of inspiration secures him, giving him hope to carry on and eventually start a fight against the misery that once confined them. Throughout both the literary and the real world, this pattern emerges regardless of the time or context. Consider Odysseus, stuck on Calypso’s island, who faces the choice of fighting temptation or remaining faithful to his wife and returning home.
Sometimes in life, your character is revealed when you go through tough or troubling times. In Homer's The Odyssey, it follows Odysseus who had just fought the Trojan War and is beginning his troublesome journey home to Ithaca. Odysseus goes through many challenging obstacles, and other hardships. Through this voyage, it reveals key aspects such as: wisdom, being cunning, strategy, and courage. These traits are revealed through Scylla, Charybdis, Polyphemus, and the suitors as he overcomes many different challenges thrown at him during his epic voyage home.
Like Odysseus, I will go through struggles on my journey to becoming a preschool teacher. Like “The Odyssey” by Homer, I will need to overcome obstacles. You might think that Odysseus’ goal to return to his homeland doesn't relate to my goal of becoming a preschool teacher, but in reality it does. I will have to go through several difficulties such as money, college, and employment.
Odyssey Paragraph Odysseus, in The Odyssey by Homer, and I are both prepared to face and overcome countless obstacles. Equipped to conquer frequent challenges on his way home, Odysseus, the mischievous man, arranged everything ahead of time. One important way he became ready to fight the sirens was by “carving a massive cake of beeswax into bits,” and “laying it thick on his men’s ears” (933). This shows he planned ahead of time because the men didn’t become deaf by the sirens excruciating noises they performed. Additionally, Odysseus was ready to kill the impostors that acted like him, so he saved the women at the castle by telling his maid, “take care of the women’s doorway.
“The Odyssey” by Homer is an intriguing story about a man’s journey, but it is also symbolic of a person’s journey through life. In life, we have obstacles that we need to overcome. Sometimes the waters are rough, and we are called to do things that we wish we did not have to, but we do them anyway. Sometimes we are confident and other times we are not. The same things apply to Odysseus, a strong and courageous warrior, as they do to us in everyday life. Odysseus faces obstacles such as the lotus plants, the cyclops, and the goddess Circe. The ways these things affect him relate to certain things in my life as well.
In almost every Epic Journey story, the main character, the hero, faces many obstacles. In Homer’s The Odyssey, Odysseus, the main character, encounters a twenty-year journey. In this journey, Odysseus comes across Zeus’ son, a Cyclopes and he has trouble dealing with his own pride getting himself in trouble. Many real life lessons can be taught through Odysseus’s voyage. Odysseus’s journey teaches people that life does not come easy, the whole time he is fighting at sea. Another lesson people can take in from The Odyssey is when Odysseus is fighting off suitors that want to marry his wife, Penelope; the readers can understand that giving up certainly does not result in success.
How does one overcome hard obstacles? Odysseus is a man that overcomes many hard obstacles in the story The Odyssey. He isn’t the typical ‘strong man’ like Hercules, but he’s more of using his intelligence to overcome hard obstacles. Odysseus uses his intelligence to overcome hard obstacles at Troy, the Island of the Cyclops, and Ithaca.
Human beings make mistakes; sometimes they learn from their first mistake, sometimes they learn after
Regardless the situation or where one is in life, everyone will always run into obstacles.. It all depends on how we choose to learn from it, such as others’ may call it “learning from our mistakes”. Eventually as an individual we all grow up over the years with a different mind set on how we view things and life will throw some crazy things at us. There will be many hard things that someone will go through but they’ll overcome it and that’ll make them stronger as a person. After going through an obstacle in life, it can give people a new perspective on life and give them the opportunity to change things for the better good.
After a mistake is made, it is possible to do better than before and achieve a higher goal, in comparison to when no error is performed. If one continues to succeed without faults, it is difficult to understand what can be done to really excel. Thomas Edison is known to be the individual in history who successfully invented the lightbulb. However, Edison did not succeed
Everyone, at some point in their life, has made a mistake. Sometimes we get lucky and only falter a little, making it through the problem relatively intact. Other times, we mess up a lot and have to fix what was damaged over a long period of time. However, the same is true for most, if not all cases—those who make the mistake learn from it. Often times, our failures teach us valuable lessons that we only gained because of the experience we gathered after messing up. I have personally achieved a wealth of knowledge and experience just from all of my own little mishaps, and a few major ones.
When we first started walking, we would stumble and fall down within few steps, until we learned how to walk perfectly. Mistakes are like these falls, without which we would never excel at anything. But one thing we should always keep in mind is we should never let these mistakes stop us from continuing the work. Mistakes are lessons for us, which help us grow and reach newer heights. Studies have shown that a person who has committed a mistake is always more determined and focused than a person who hasn’t. Thomas Edison came up light bulb after
