According to the article, “A Reckoning,” the rubber boom industry had caused one of the worst massacres during the beginning of 1885. During this time the act of killing was “genocidal,” however, it wasn’t just about killing one particle group. It was about Leopold’s men looking for free labor and using violence to coerce those who were in their way for power. Additionally, if the population plummeted due to the violence they endured under Leopold’s rule or if the four major sources were the cause for the drastic decline. These four sources that can be tied to why so many people died are murder, starvation, disease, and declining birth rate. The rubber regime in 1894 showed how people who resisted to this labor had their hands and life taken

While researching textiles of the nineteenth century, I found a few authors who published articles about the textiles of the nineteenth century particularly journals of what it was like to dress and create clothing in this time period. According to dictionary.com, textiles is defined as any clothing or goods produced by weaving, knitting, or felting. These journals go into depth about how textiles were created, their relevance to different tribes cultures, and the different ways it benefited them. Native Americans spent a great deal of time on making their own clothing. The clothing they made varied based on the

The world of textiles has continued to evolve since its birth, centuries ago. When we think of the term textiles it can be referred to as anything around us. No matter where you are in the world, textiles are always there. It can be defined as any cloth or good, produced by weaving, knitting or felting. One may hear the term and only consider clothing or curtains to be textiles but forget or are unaware that even something such as glass is considered a textile. This form of textiles consists of numerous extremely fine fibers of glass. With that being said, we cannot narrow down the topic of textiles in one area because it is a broad subject.

The contractors are expected to cover their assigned territories and meet or exceed their monthly sales quotas. Training for the contractor is not controlled by the employer. If the contractor would like to increase knowledge, get additional product or field experience, it will be at the contractor’s expense and not of the employer. With all of the company’s sales depending on the ten independent contractors, integration on certain services is needed by the company. The services that are subject to control are sales, monthly sales quotas are listed for each of the territories and each contractor will need to make or exceed their monthly sales quotas. If the quota is not reached, a written report by the contractor is expected, per the contract, to explain the failed goal. The rendering of services is not controlled by the company. A goal is set for the sales contractor, but the how they sell and process in which they sell by is a personal decision of the contractor. The fifth factor would be assistants, the consultant is may not hire assistants without company approval and if the assistant is approved, no cost for the hiring or staffing an assistant will be made to the company; contractor will need to cover all costs.
Polyesters are those fibers containing at least 85% of a polymeric ester of a substituted aromatic carboxylic acid including but not restricted to terephthalic acid and f-hydroxybenzoic acid. The major polyester in the market is polyethylene terephthalate (PET), an ester formed by step growth polymerization of terephthalic acid and the diol ethylene glycol. The polyester fibers all have similar properties, are highly resilient and resistant to wrinkling, possess high durabilily and dimensional stability, and are resistant to chemical and environmental attack(Needles, 1986). In 1996, 24.1 million metric tons of manmade fibres were produced globally. The main volume gain took place in production of PET fibres (PET filament 9%, PET staple 4%) (Froehlich, 1997). Dramatic growth in PET fibre production is foreseen in Asia in the near future (Harris, 1996). The cost of polyester, with the combination of its superior strength and resilience, is lower than that of rayon. Polyester fibres are hydrophobic which is suitable for lightweight facing fabrics used in disposable industry providing a perceptible dry feel on the facing, even when the inner absorbent media is fully saturated. As the new methods of PET processing and bonding of are developed, rayon is replaced by polyester on the market. 49% of the total nonwovens market share in USA belongs to polyester staple, reaching up to 291 million pounds in
After completion of the Contract Creation and Management simulation the following legal issues were noted. There were problems with this contract from the beginning because the specifics of the contract were ambiguous from the start. The companies involved developed a contractual relationship by evidence of an offer, acceptance of the offer and valid and legal consideration, which in this case is money for services rendered. However, the deliveries were behind schedule, and the quality of the work was not acceptable by C-S, who was now considering rescission of the contract.” Rescission is an act to undo a contract.” (Cheeseman, 2010 pg. 254). C-S is
