Firstly, “The Princess Bride” is mainly about a girl who is in love with a farm boy. The boy Westley has to go to war so he could come back and have money to marry his true love. But, rumors spread that Westley was dead so Buttercup was forced to marry the king. Who knew Westley came out of nowhere and we were all surprised that he changed his name to Dread Pirate Roberts and that’s what kept him alive all these years. The king finds Buttercup and brings her back to the palace and forces her to marry him. He plans to kill her but instead she wants to commit suicide because what she thought was gonna happen didn’t. In the end they live happily ever after, far away from the kingdom.

Westley went to the war because he was a farm boy and he needed money to marry Buttercup. Odysseus went to the because he wants to get Helen back. In Princess Bride Buttercup was forced to marry the king and in Odysseus Penelope was also forced to choose a man to marry her. In Odysseus he comes back home after twenty years and in the Princess Bride there is a guy named Inigo Montoya who wants to take a revenge with a six finger man because he killed his father and he was nowhere which Inigo can find him. Than Westley helps him to find the six finger man because when he saved Buttercup he saw a guy with six fingers, Than Inigo takes revenge with the six finger man. Whenever he was fighting with that guy he was only saying these words, “My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die!” this made him to built his confidence during his fighting. In Odysseus there was a narrator and it was Odysseus himself who was narrating his story and in Princess Bride there was a old man who was telling the story to a sick child. There is only one difference in Odysseus and the Princess Bride is that in Princess Bride, Westley and Buttercup they both are poor and In Odysseus, Odysseus and Penelope they both belongs from a royal
