Over the years, children that grow up in a single parent environment are being viewed as not normal or in other words different. People view the fact of being raised by one parent whether it be a mother or father as nearly impossible, yet in these days it’s become more common then expected. Now a days, children grow up to be successful adults that are economically and emotionally stable. Single parents raised them and get to show them the rocky road that life holds upon all humans. They teach them valuable concepts that will help them overcome any barrios in life. they teach them how to get up when they fall. Yet, the real question lies. Do children actually need both parents? What’s the difference between being raised with both parents present to being raised with only one parent? Does a little boy need his father figure or does a little girl need her mother figure? Can and does the government provide help for single parents? What role do step-sibling and step-parents play in all this? Knowing all this we can safely agree that this topic has become an argument. Growing up I watched my mom struggle with bills. She works a full-time job and a part-time job just to be able to set food on the table for myself and herself. I had to grow up or in other words I had to become mature and think differently. I knew my mother was trying to make time for me, but it was nearly impossible. I had a lot going on as a child.
