Bridger
Montana might not be the most populated area, but it is one of the prettiest states in America. My family lives just outside of a small township named Bridger. It is located in central-southern Montana, just above the stunning Pryor Mountain Range. Bridger has a population of around 1,000 people. It is surrounded by small foothills and mountains. Montana is known for great skiing, it’s eyeful scenery, and there is an opportunity for adventure around every corner. One thing that is great about Montana is it’s looming mountains. The Pryor Mountain Range consists of one magnificent peak surrounded by meager foothills. When you are in the mountains, you feel free. There is no one to hold you back from anything. You can be you when you are there. There are many entertaining things to

The Gallatin is just south of a town called Red Lodge. It is home to the Granite Peak, which is 13,000 feet above sea level. Granite Peak is home to some of the most breathtaking views in Montana. The United States Olympic Ski Team trains at a neighboring mountain. There is snow on the peaks even in the summer. The mountains may be amazing, but people are always cautioned because of the wildlife the mountain is home to. Bears are frequently coming closer to highways, and campsites. The Gallatin’s 2,300 miles of trail lead you to the humongous peaks of …show more content…
The park consists of sizable peaks on both sides of a rooted valley. Glacier is home to over 700 miles of hiking trails. The park is home to many animals; from mountain goats to grizzly bears. The valley is split by a river that feeds one of the clearest lakes in the world, it is called Flathead Lake. The lake’s water level changes so drastically that a hiking trail is fully submerged at some point. People visit Glacier National Park for the great
Montana is a beautiful place, full of trees, wildlife, and happy families. Montana is full of interesting historical events as well. Montana is fascinating, and full of amazing creatures, but how did Montana become what it is today? Montana went through many changes before becoming into present day Montana.
Captured from the top of the Daniel Boone National Forest, located in northeastern Kentucky near the city of Morehead, this featured image originates in one of the most beautiful and well kept secrets on earth. Although this location is breathtaking, efforts to capture images from the summit will certainly involve a bit hiking and climbing, but it’s definitely worth the journey. Whether it’s photography or purely for the love of a great hike, I can’t see anyone regretting making this trip. Regardless of the agenda, a striking and tranquil retreat awaits the willing adventurer.
“At every step, somebody fell down and ceased to suffer”-Elie Wiesel. This is a quote from a Holocaust survivor named Elie. This is an important quote about the Holocaust, it tells what happened no matter how much you walked or how many steps you took. This essay is gonna be about the Holocaust and who it was made by, what was in it, where it took place, when it took place, and why did this happen. This first paragraph is gonna be about who built the museum and who was some people that was involved in the Holocaust.
Too bad, as the water I brought was now warm. Another trail went up to the summit. It was paved with wood at the bottom, which became wooded steps a bit further up, rather like a wooden escalator. There was a handrail on this section. At the top of the steps, about a third of the way, the trail became narrow and rocky, requiring careful footing. It was there I caught my first views of the other side of the mountain, the West Peak and one of the park’s several lakes— which I believe was Lake Lagunitas-- far below me.
Driving down the Franconia Notch Parkway, the mountain walls rise up around me and consume me. On one side, the guardrail separates me from the cars speeding past in the opposite direction. On the other side, nothing is separating me from the slopes. My eyes slowly follow the smooth curvature of the faces of the mountains. Wind, rain, snow, and ice have shaped the rock in such a way that the rock looks like silk sheets. As my eyes take in more, they come across the sharp jagged edges and ridges where rocks have recently fallen and taken parts of the mountain as their casualties. The sun peeks from behind the summit and causes the great mountains to cast shadows on their smaller counterparts. Crimson, goldenrod, bronze, and saffron leaves dance across the air as the cool gusts of wind blow them along. Soon the trees will become bare and blend with the barren slopes above the treeline, but for now the contrast between the two is unmistakably noticeable.
There are so much geographic treasures to see in Montana. The eastern part of Montana is considered the plains country where the sky is just never-ending. The central part is surrounded by mountain ranges while the western part is a combination of mountain ranges and valleys. The Yellowstone National Park is on the southern central portion of Montana. It has the massive area of geyser
Far into the mountains is a marvelous location called the “Tower Rock.” The Tower Rock was a transition from Great PLains to unknown terrain of the Rocky Mountains and Pacific Northwest. On the west side of the Missouri River approximately 8 miles south of Cascade, Montana lays, “Tower Rock” are 3 immense sides of Buffalo in plains before. On July 16, 1905 the Corps discovered a large rock of 400 ft high.
The state boosts most beautiful and geographically diverse regions in the US. The landscape is mesmerizing, featuring large snow-capped mountains,
The Trout Creek Mountains are a Great Basin range in Oregon and Nevada in the United States. Oriented generally north–south, the mountains consist mostly of fault blocks of basalt, while the southern end has granitic outcrops. Overall, the faulted terrain is dominated by rolling hills cut by canyons. Most of the range is federal land, and there is little human development, apart from cattle ranching. The public land, dominated by big sagebrush and desert grasses, is open to recreation but is rarely visited. Sage grouse and mountain chickadee are two native bird species, and pronghorn and jackrabbit are common mammals. Despite a dry climate, rare Lahontan cutthroat trout persist in a few streams after declining for much of the 20th century.
The Colorado Rocky Mountains are claimed to be one of the most intriguing and adventurous lands to visit nationally and globally. Primarily, the Rocky mountains are most visited for the skiing resorts, aside from the many other activities and locations to visit. I will persuade the audience what I believe an ideal weekend trip or vacation would be, and the steps and guidelines in making the vacation possible. The locations being covered would be some of the biggest attractions in the Colorado Rocky Mountains: the ski resorts. Some resorts credited with being the best that the Rockys can bring to a particular individual or group of people are: Keystone resort, Aspen, Loveland, Breckenridge, Ski Cooper. Although these are only a few of the locations the Colorado Rockies have to offer there are plenty more, thus I
The Appalachian Mountains were formed an estimated 480 million years ago, being one of the first plate collisions constructing the supercontinent Pangea. During the Paleozoic Era, the region was submerged, layers of sediment and carbonate rock began to form on top of the already submerging sea bottom. In the Ordovician Period, the Appalachian passive margin evolved into a plate boundary when another plate collided with and sank the North American plate, creating the Appalachians. The Mountains continued to form as volcanoes grew, plate collisions, all while the supercontinent formed. Pangea began its separation 220 million years ago, halting the creation of many mountain ranges. The Appalachian Mountains had almost flattened completely out,
In Glacier National Park, which is in the Rocky Mountains of Montana, there once roamed
My family has gone skiing at Mount Sunapee almost every weekend for four years, but we had gone skiing there with our cousins before we had bought the house. Mount Sunapee is just a 90 minute drive northeast of Boston. The mountain has an average snowfall of 100 inches, which is almost double Sudbury's 51. The mountain has ten lifts and 61 trails covering a massive 233 acres of terrain. The mountain’s summit elevation of 2,743 feet and its longest trail, “ridge”, is 2 miles long.
