The way the series ended honestly has me crying. Why would you kill off Prim when she’s the whole reason it started? If you look at from my perspective Katniss would have never gone to the games if Prim’s name wouldn’t have been called. Volunteering for her sister is instinct. All Katniss has ever done since her father died has been care for Prim and make sure she doesn't ever go hungry or end up hurt, Prim is her weakness. Over all The Hunger Games trilogy has a positive ending, well other than the fact that Prim didn’t make it. In the end, both Snow and Coin are dead, so the rebels finally choose how the government will be run and who will run it. Another thing that stood out to me is Katniss and Peeta mading up and having a family together
Think about a girl your age being brave enough to volunteer to be in these terrifying games. Katniss did this for her younger sister, Prim. I think this is a big challenge for Katniss. Seeing your little sister being put into the games would be very difficult, but I don’t think volunteering for her would be easier. It takes a lot of courage and it proves she’s very caring and loves her family a lot. The next thing that happened at the reaping was the drawing of the baker's son, Peeta. Peeta and Katniss have issues throughout the book, including falling in love. The reapings began the whole start of the challenges and they continue to grow harder and harder.
The theme in The Hunger Games is that love keeps people alive. In the book love, saved Katniss, her family, and Peeta several times. During her childhood, there was a time when Katniss and her family where starving. Luckily Peeta liked Katniss, so he threw her some bread when he saw she was starving. This small gesture of love saved Katniss and her family. Also, In the Games when Cato was about to kill Katniss, Peeta battled him and saved her because he loved her. Otherwise Katniss would be killed by Cato or the rest of the careers while she was passed out. Lastly, Katniss's love for Prim got her more motivated to win the Games. Without Katniss Prim and her mother would starve so Katniss needed to survive in the Games so Prim and her mother would survive. Being more motivated by this Katniss also saves Peeta's life by healing him up and getting the medicine for him.
What Katniss does is a death sentence, but also an act of true love. “I protect Prim in every way I can, but i’m powerless against the reaping,” (pg.15). There are some hardness situation that we need to experienced and learn whatever they teach us. Life gave us many opportunities to meet new people and began a new relationship, but sometimes that love never becomes true. True love is the love that two sisters have that no matter what the situation is the oldest one takes the control of the situation and began acting us a mother, and with the only reason that she wants the best for her sister, and that is true love.
The film the hunger games is a science fiction/thriller film which is directed by Gary Ross, the film is about a once North America country which is now known as panem and the capitol has to maintain control over the district, they do this by holding the hunger games which is an event when they choose 2 tributes from each district a boy and a girl which fight to the death which is publicly televised, but the capital allow one winner for the district to have hope, throughout the film there are many characters which I feel sympathy, likeability, negative characterises and character development about but the main two which I feel the most sympathy towards Peeta and Katniss.
The Hunger Games shows how it’s hard to be happy when someone is at risk of being picked to fight to the death. The Hunger Games demonstrates that death is the cause of no happiness because the citizens could be chosen to go to the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is a twisted event in which one man and one woman tribute from the twelve districts are randomly selected to fight until there is one lone victor. The tributes ages range from twelve to eighteen. This was all created to end war and keep peace between the districts. In this film, the main character’s sister, Prim, is chosen for the Hunger Games when she is only twelve and does not know how to defend for herself. The main character, Katniss, then has no other choice but to volunteer to save her sister from being killed. Katniss’ mom and Prim both get the feeling that Katniss could
Like in any typical hero movie, there is a call that the protagonist has to answer. In The Hunger Games, Katniss hears her calling when her sister, Prim is drawn to participate in the Hunger games. Knowing that Prim is definitely not a violent person, Katniss 's instincts kick in and she volunteers for her sister without
Katniss Everdeen lives a life that is based on her ability to survive long before she becomes a participant in the Hunger Games. The death of Katniss’s father left Katniss to provide for her mother and her sister, Prim.
You have to put your name into a bowl to enter (which you are required to enter at least 1 time each year from the ages of 12 to 18). You are able to enter your name in an infinitely more times to get food which Katniss does every year. This year of the Hunger Games Prim is 12 and only puts her name in once. She is chosen and Katniss "...(I) Volunteer[s] as tribute". This means that she will take her sister's place and probable face certain death in the Games. She is a good sister and kept her sister alive and well in the place that Katniss will probably die. And in the hunger games she helps the other member of district 12 because he gave her bread once and was slapped hard for
Katniss Everdeen, the main character is seen in an incessant state of anguish, worrying about her beloved younger sister Prim, without the slightest concern for her own welfare, an idiosyncrasy that robustly contradicts with the typical perfect and flawless main character portrayed in almost all action/adventure films. The controversial scene then ends with the fearless Katniss Everdeen taking her sister’s place and volunteering for her in the Hunger Games after she had been conscripted. There are even ceaseless ties made between District 12 and World War II concentration camps ranging from the rag like clothing to the groups of hopeless children with guns aimed at their face, further deliberating Katniss’s initial mother like and selfish instincts when preferring to worry about her sister in an environment that can be related to a significant historical atrocity. As a set-up for the rest of the film, this sequence plays an important role in constructing the underlying theme of the film as a whole. The fact that Katniss finds her own empathy, sense of caring and compassion and her journey of going from a un-trusting and instinctive girl to a strong moraled, selfless woman that would rather die than take an innocent human life. An
In every story, there is the good and there is the bad. Usually, this is shown from the characters in the story. The Hunger Games is a story that portraits both of these sides; the light and the dark. Today, I know I am supposed to talk about only 3 characters, but there are so many characters in the story that are so interesting. So instead, I will be talking about 4 characters from this book. The 4 characters that I chose to talk about is Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark, Madge Undersee and Cato.
Katniss answers the call to adventure when her little sister, Primrose, was chosen for the reaping. At that moment, Katniss took charge of the situation and volunteered to take her sister’s place a tribute for District 12. During the final moments that she had with her family, she refused the death sentence that the hunger games offered and promised to return home to her
The whole story itself would be much better without romantic feelings between the two main tributes. We’ve known about Peetas’crush on Katniss even before the games started, and towards the end, we also understand that Katnisss herself began to develop feelings. In my perspective, it would be interesting to see something different from the other stories, I would rather see her rejecting Peetas’feelings and just playing along to the act for the sake of attention. Later, through the series their feelings will grow even more and become something more, and that made me really disappointed. Therefore, the first Hunger Games movie will get four stars from
Rue reminded Katniss a lot like Prim. Katniss and Rue split up looking for food and Rue died. Marvel who was from District one speared Rue and almost instantly Katniss killed him with a bow and arrow. The rules changed mid way through the games. Two people can now win the games.
To begin, in “The Hungry Games” the protagonist Katniss Everdeen volunteers for her little sister, Prim
There are many reasons why The Hunger Games should get the award, one being it conveys great emotion. One of those emotions is sadness. It is especially sad when Primrose gets picked for the games and when Peeta needs medicine to live, because at those moments Katniss know they will most likely die. There is nothing more devastating than losing someone you love. It was also very upsetting when Rue died because like stated before it is devasting. Another emotion is love. This is conveyed when Katniss and Peeta would rather eat poisonous and die than live without each
