The self assessment test that is offered in unit 2, is a great help in understanding the areas that we re both strong, and weak in.Taking a self assessment is the first step towards becoming proactive in our learning. Becoming proactive in our learning (Bethel University, 2014), can help us make greater strides in the learning process. The Organizational Leadership program removes barriers to success that adult learners face (Bethel University, 2014). As a student in the Organizational Leadership Program, I took the assessment as well.I was surprised in the areas that I did well in.One area that I did well in , was management and leadership of people. I am a retail store manager, therefore I feel that this skill is a natural skill, that I embrace. Goal setting, is another skill that I feel confident in. Given my career as a manager, I have to set goals by the shift, and the day, as well as the week, and month.Planning, is another skill that I did well in, along with organization. The two go hand in hand in my daily activities, and you cant be an effective planner without being organized. The last of my top five skills would be, speaking.I am confident when I address others, and take the opportunity to do it often. As far a the five weakest skills, I would say that Mathematics would be at the bottom of the list, mostly due to lack of interest in math, that I have not put forth a lot of effort to succeed in this subject. Understanding technology, is my second worst weakness. I
I chose to assess myself positively in all of the categories because I felt that I did a good job of thoroughly responding to and completing each of the requirements. I came to the discussion with a several page response to each of the four questions that I posed in relation to the text, complete with a highlighted and annotated copy of the story to use as a reference point. During the discussion itself, I referred to how the specific actions of each of the characters in the story might be interpreted and related in a more broad sense to the meaning of the work as a whole. For example, I spoke at one point about how the actions of the wife seemed inconsistent with the continuous importance placed on the value of honor within the story, as her
Social workers play a key role when it comes to assisting individuals overcome adversities. They are trained to look at the whole picture and not just the presenting symptoms. Social workers have the skills to obtain accurate psychosocial assessments, in order to get a better understanding of why, how, what, and when events have impacted or changed an individual’s way of living. It does not matter what setting the social worker finds themselves in, they are continuously finding answers to the questions. It is no different when dealing with an individual that suffers from a mental illness.
To summarize my leadership skills I have weakness and strengths. Things that I do well are I have good organization skills I know how to organize things the order that need to be completed. The areas that I need improvement on are time management. I have to manage my time so that I can get everything in the time I have been giving.
After taking the self-assessment test, I realized what I needed, what I had and what I needed to acquire in order to be successful in my doctoral degree. Furthermore, the result of the assessment helped me understand who I am as a learner, and why exactly I am in this program. The assessment helped me acknowledge how bad my weaknesses were. Finally, the assessment helped clarify my mind on the areas of research that interest me. With the result of this assessment, I am confident now about successfully completing my doctoral degree.
Over the quarter, I have completed 14 self-assessments that have opened my eyes to who I perceive myself to be and how this can affect my future career path. All 14 of these assessments focused on an aspect of my personality that is embedded and seen in how I view situations and how I conduct my daily life. I took the self-assessments very seriously and asked my family members and current housemates for feedback throughout this process. Some of these assessments confirmed my personal thoughts on the matter and few of the assessments opposed and revealed new qualities about myself that I had not thought of. Overall, this was a revolutionary experience and I would suggest thing process to anyone who wants a clear vision of him/herself.
The self-assessment test is a test to rate where you stand on certain skills. I am not really sure on how I felt with this considering I had more low numbers than high, I would have to say that I feel weakness. I learned that with taking this test I have weakness and strengths, also made me realize that I need to work on more than I thought.

Conducting a self-assessment has proven beneficial in my search for jobs as well as my overall quest to grow as a person. Much like the previous set of assessments, the six new assessments allowed me to further understand how I interact with people as well as my outlook on ethics. When grouped together, the assessments provided and overview of my probable interactions with others. Results indicated that people view me as a trustworthy person, who is very attentive and dependable. In terms of engaging in conflict, I am more likely to try to solve the problem in a way that brings out collaborative and accommodating comprises; however, I am also a person to avoid conflict altogether. I feel as though these skills are very important given the ability
As an older individual who has had several jobs in my twenty-five years of working, I have done several self-assessments. I have always felt they were fairly accurate in describing my personality. I have tried over the years to use these to help myself improve and was successful at my last job as a supervisor and using those skills to improve as a better manager. I have also learned that you cannot change who you are, as I once had a manager tell me I needed to go to school to change myself to be more like her so I could be successful. My relationship with this manager never worked, as I can’t change myself and she never learned how to deal with others who weren’t like her.
The Pearson Hall Self-Assessment Library contains several assessment tests that an individual may complete to determine his or her personality type and provides insight regarding skills and abilities. The assessment tests were extremely detailed. I completed three of the four sections which included personality insights, working with others, and life in organizations. After completing the assessments, I learned additional information about my personality type, strengths and weaknesses, and areas that require improvement. I feel that I will be able to apply what I have learned successfully within the organization as well as my personal life.
It was only after I understood the interdisciplinary and cooperative nature of the College of Human Ecology during my visit to Cornell this past summer that I fully realized the school was the perfect fit for me. While the college’s mission, “To improve lives,” is a simple one, the steps taken to achieve such an objective cuts across multiple disciplines. The information session reinforced my understanding that science, math, economics, human psychology and an understanding of cultural diversity all play a strong role when formulating public policy. As a high school debater, I examined every side of a given resolution, researched existing governmental policies and used compelling evidence in order to prove assertions. Amongst the various
In the personal assessment it asked a series of questions that directed my explanatory style to being very or typically pessimistic as well as optimistic. The interpretation that the personal assessment described about me was that I tend to have an average level of pessimism about negative events and optimism about positive events.

The client was cooperative during the session. The client came into the session with a positive attitude she was very compliant and egger. Her positive attitude made the session transition and flow smoothly.
This semester I plan to use my resources to earn the best possible grade I am able to. There are many techniques that can be used to make sure you get the grade you want. I plan to take responsibility for myself and do the work I need to do to get what I want. Responsibility is the key to success if you can’t be responsible you won’t get anywhere in life. Part of being responsible is making sure you go to things you need to go to, so I plan on going to every class possible. You won’t know what is going on in class if you don’t show up, which could easily lead to a bad grade.
