John Steinbeck eavesdropped on people's conversations just to get material for his book. These stories show different people who had each set a goal for themselves. Their goals may be different but they all had set a goal and they all eventually accomplished their goal.

What drives you to undertake a mission? Better yet how does a mission make you feel? Although undertaking a mission would result in never losing hope, responsibility, and working hard. With this in mind believing you could do it and accomplishing a goal is very important. On the event that this relates to my thesis statement because this is a result of never losing hope. With the intention about this also being related to my thesis statement because this proves responsibility accomplishing a mission and completing it. While we cannot truly understand what drives each individual to do so, oftentimes people want or need something badly enough to take risks. Ahmedi was determined to survive any circumstances, while Aengus wanted to find the girl to have true love, and Rikki-Tikki wanted to be a true mongoose, killing and eating snakes. However all three were able to go through these obstacles and reach their goals.

Annie Johnson did not give up and Annie made her own business and without this business Annie would not have money and would not be able to handle her childrens. Monica had more responsibilities to do because Monica wanted a little brother. Individuals are driven to undertake missions because for example one of the motivation of the first story was to learn english and go to school and be successful, another motivation was to make money to support a family, and the last motivation was that someone wanted a little brother.
