On an early Monday morning the sun rises over a small house located in a quiet town by the name of Old City of Rhoads in Greece. When the sun hits the small house, the house looks even smaller and the shadow of the house outlines the old looking torn apart boards holding the roof together. Even though this house looks old and small everyone in the town knows the story behind the man who used to live there, and the family who lives there now. The man who build and used to live in the house went by the name of Floyd Blackwood. Floyd was a master fisher man and would bring food to the town for family’s to buy and eat, because the town of Old City of Rhoads has always had a shortage of livestock. Floyd was basically a hero. He would spend his nights fishing, and his days building a house for him, his wife, and son. One day Floyd finished the house. And while his wife and son were settling in he decided to go fishing on his boat. Floyd went out to sea and started fishing but, before he could even realize how late it was and turn around he was trapped in a sea storm and did not make it out alive. The small house is now owned by Floyd’s wife, violet who lives with her now 17- year old son John.
During the day John works on repairing the ships that sailors use to fish in. John has always wanted to be a hero and a talented sailor like his father, however John is not that grate of a fisherman. Every day he would spend hours trying to catch something and have no luck. One day his mother told him “Son, I know you want to be just like your father but we need to make money somehow. Please go and work on repairing the ships, and maybe one day someone will teach you how to fish.” So from that day forward John started working on repairing ships. However he did not let his spirit die. John told himself that he would be the greatest fisherman to ever live, and he would do it all on his own.
One day while working on the ships John over heard two fisherman talking about how there is a huge shortage of fish and if they do not start bringing in more fish they will be fired. Then john heard another voice in the conversation and knew exactly who it was. This man went by the name of Luke. Luke was an amazing fisherman who had a great
“You can’t do this to me!” Sandra yelled. Everyone in the office heard the commotion coming from Mr. Lewis’s office. As Sandra stormed through the office, her co-workers awkwardly turned away to avoid eye contact and rumbled through papers to pretend as if they weren’t watching and listening, but Sandra knew better. This was the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to her.
Is it possible for people like Cole to heal? Will there be hope? This is a story about forgiveness, and anger. Cole’s environment as a kid was horrendous. His father beat him his whole life so that is what Cole grew up to know. He treats people, the world, and himself just like his dad treated him. He was sent to get help with Edwin and Garvey, probation officers who are also a part of the Tlingit tribe. The two of them take Cole to an island where it would isolate him from the world and give him time to change and heal. There he will meet the spirit bear, and learn of the world’s beauty. Eventually, Cole learns the lesson that healing requires forgiveness from others.
I lay on the wet cold floor. The chains around my ankles burned, I could see the blood mixing with the water. Freya was leaned up against the wall still asleep. How did I get here? We’ll get to that, let’s start with maybe a year ago. I was a normal 8th grader, decent grades, I lived in New York City on 5th street, my mother had died when I was four, I didn’t know why at the time ,but it wasn’t good. I lived with my Aunt Cara and her sister, Aunt Joanna. My father. Had left when I was born. Let’s make one thing clear I never asked for this. Never.
Emerald sobbed as she dashed through the woods, tears streaking down her face in salty waterfalls. Dragging the hilt of her hand along her face, she slowed. Emerald ignored the throbbing pain in her feet from sprinting along the brush barefoot. She continued on through the forest soon reaching a road where on the other side was a drop, and about 70 feet down, was a small river, where she hoped her life would end, where all her pain would stop and become a distant thing of her past.
I will be the best and only the best... I will crush my opponents. I will crush the competition. I will crush that ball. I am the Greatest of All Time. I am Josh Smith.
It was a nice October day and Bertha and her family were out on a hike in the woods when suddenly, SQUISH! Bertha heard a bug crush underneath her foot. “Eww,” she stated in disgust, “I just stepped on a spider!” Bertha desperately tried to get the spider guts off of her shoe as her dad said, “You should have watched where you were walking sweetie! That spider could have a family that it was trying to get back to!” Berthas dad had a thing about not killing bugs because he claims that what goes around comes around, but Bertha thought it was silly since they were just meaningless bugs. “Yeah okay,” Bertha sighed. So Bertha, her mom, her dad, and her sister Delaney all continued their hike but Bertha kept on killing the small bugs that would land on her arms.
“No, but he seemed to just sit and stare at me for near on my entire shift. I was going to point him out to you but he just disappeared.” She said and suddenly started to get an uneasy feeling. “Ulyana, do you get the feeling we are being watched?”
Hey, I’m Eriona. Eriona Rios actually. My friends call me Eri though. I’m about to tell you a story that will make you, actually I don’t know what it’s going to do to you. Here goes nothing. So it was about freshman year and there was this “new boy”, all of the girls wanted him to be honest, I did too. I’m not going to use his real name so were just going to call him Tom. Tom was soooooo cute, literally fine. So I told one of my friends that I thought he was cute, and she said she agreed. So a couple days later, I decided to tell my “friend” that I liked him. And she said I should text him and stuff. About 2 days later, me and her were walking in the hallway, and she gave Tom a hug right in front of me and told me she kinda like him. Me and her didn’t speak anymore after that.
Who is my family? Where are they? Why did they leave me here? Why am I here? Does my fami-
On June 25th One cold early winter morning Evan, a 14 year old dark skinned Japanese boy woke up from a horrifying nightmare about being drowned by a 7 foot wave at Honolii when he was Bodyboarding during winter season when the waves are pumping. He usually has peaceful long naps, but his is the first time in awhile that he had gotten a nightmare. It was about 4:50am and Evan couldn't seem to go back to sleep because he'd been so afraid of the dream; thoughts of him drowning was going thru his mind . As he watched the time come by faster he decided to call his friend Rylan and tell him about why he woke up so early. Rylan is his classmate also his neighbor that has been his friend since elementary days. Evan sat up from his sleeping position and reached above his pillow to pick up his cell phone so he could give Rylan a call, but as he clinched onto his cell phone a cockroach scattered over his hand then onto the bed. Once the cockroach the size of ice cube disappeared behind the crack of the bed against the wall, he unlocked his phone using his fingerprint and attempted to call Rylan but he did not answer after a few calls because it was so early, it was about 5:15am when Rylan answered his face time as if he only slept for 1 hour. He seemed to be tired because he answered the phone by saying “go back to sleep “ in a lazy tone. So Evan just let him go back to sleep and hung up the phone with no response. Evan jumped up from his bed, rushed to the bathroom and brushed his
Kagome looks around noticing the sun has begun to set behind the trees sighing not really wanting to return to the group just yet.
Liam’s mom was right. There were other things out there, some were good, some were bad. Just by his luck the thing that was chasing him was not a good one. “Run, keep running Liam” he kept telling himself. He could hear the things feet pound against the mossy floor of the forest, the creatures breath echoing between the trees. The only thing keeping him and the creature apart was thought of seeing his mother again, the only thing he cared about in this world, the fear of leaving her alone was not an option, that was the source of his adrenaline. “Just keep going, a few more feet and you'll be back home”.
It was a nice spring morning where you could wake up to the sound of food being cooked and a conversation being had. It was one of those mornings where if one person woke up then another would wake 5-10 minutes later. This story is an interesting one as well as an old one, it involves an event that happened to me when I was young.
“I wonder what she’s like,” said sally. But Mrs. Chipley didn’t seem to hear her.
