The setting in the Hunger Games is not in the past or present, but in the future. The story takes place in District 12 and in a place called the Arena. District 12 is an old and very run down. It is a very; dull place of mines. The Arena is ;where the Hunger Games take place. It is a dangerous and scary place.

The Hunger Games, written by Suzanne Collins, is an adventure fiction novel filled with adventures and trials that will lead you to into the near distant future. In a place that was once known as United States of America, is now known as Panem, which is divided up in to twelve cruel districts. Forced by the nation’s capitol, one boy and one girl shall be chosen randomly to participate in the annual Hunger Games. Hunger Games, also known as the deathly journey when put in to an unknown place and requires you to fight until you are the last one standing. This may be seen as an enjoyable entertainment to those residing in the nations capitol; but to Katniss Everdeen, a courageous teenager, it is a death sentence that cannot be avoided.

She even become the symbol of resistance (the Mockingjay) of the war to the Capitol during the revolution. For people in the Panem, Katniss is the victor of the hunger game, the hope, who survives from the torture and poverty. The image of Katniss represents people who fight for survival in the real world. People sometimes need to give up something when they faced difficulty, like Katniss, she makes efforts to fight with the government.

Everyone has to face different difficulties in his/her life. Children will have difficulties in their homework. Teachers will have problems during their teaching. However, if people overcome the difficulties, they will be successful. In The Hunger Games, Katniss and Peeta who are the protagonists try very hard so they win the game. There are many dramas today that most people would not considered to be drama. Before reading the information in our text book, I thought drama was basically just a story or movie between people who had problems with each other; but that’s not completely true.
