Facts: ISIL and associated forces having been moving quickly across Iraq, taking control of large sections of territory and driving out residents. It appears that they have turned their eyes toward Baghdad, looking to take control of the capital and extend their control further. This of great concern to the United States government as ISIL is a direct threat to our interests in the region and to the homeland. They have killed three Americans this year with the possibility of publicly killing the other American hostages they hold. These killings are a direct attack on the United States and cannot be ignored. In addition, there are Americans in their ranks that heighten the threat ISIS poses to the United States. With access to US passports and the ability to reenter the country, these fighters could carry out an attack inside the United States. The government feels that action must be taken against ISIL to prevent damage to our national security and harm from coming to our citizens. Action at this time is being done with Congressional approval as President Obama recognized that Congressional approval would heighten his power. Military personnel already in Iraq are to be used in advisory positions only. While this has helped Iraqi forces, ISIL is still gaining territory and growing in members. New action needs to be taken to improve the situation in Iraq and surrounding countries while eliminating ISIL.

Did communism pose a domestic threat to America? Why or why not? Yes, communism posed a threat to America. First you would need to know what communism really is and how socialism ties in with it (know your enemy). How they operate and what their goals are. One of the goals of the communist movement, was the destruction of capitalism.
"Ring around the rosy a pocket full of posies" begins playing the dancing death song round and round inside my head every time I look back at my life. When the news of the plague began hitting other towns around me that is when I became frightened that my city was being quickly destroyed. I started pleading my husband to not leave the house but he called me insane his words were "who else would bring the money to the table". He never was a good listener and it was when my husband passed away that I realized death is unavoidable. People began to question God whether he is with us or not. Chaos broke out in the towns, cities and finally the whole entire European country quickly started dying off. People began turning on the church and government for not having the medicine we need nor the love from God.
Kent State University, located in Ohio, faced a tragic event on May 4th, 1970. On this day members of the Ohio National Guard fired into a crowd of students ultimately killing four and severely wounding 9. (Lewis, Hensley) This massacre stunned the country. The various reactions to these students’ deaths came in a widely range throughout the country. Many citizens sparked a voice of belief against these actions and made a significant impact on the aftermath. Neil Young produced a highly acclaimed song, “Ohio”, about 10 days after the shooting. This song became an anthem for those Americans who were completely appalled by the actions involving the war in Vietnam (Songfacts). The legendary song, “Ohio” was an effective anthem to all Americans sparking a an impact to many protestors during a desperate and stressful time.
ISIS has been a rapidly increasing threat to not just the United States of America, but the entire world. ISIS has done countless brutal, sick, heart wrenching things that have caused a national and international uproar in the citizens of numerous countries. ISIS considers them the Islamic State, and they seem to have many motives. They basically want a large portion of the Middle east under ISIS control and for the rest of the world to accept their disgusting “traditions” as they claim they are doing, This threat has done some very unspeakable things; the problem needs to be solved. Considering the view the United State holds right now, there are a few actions that can be taken to reduce this threat that ISIS presents. ISIS has rapidly become an enormous problem for most of, if not all of the world. There are some very simple and some very complicated ways to solves this problem. The most efficient way is to simple go to war with ISIS and physically, mentally and emotionally destroy everything and everyone that is supporting this cause, another way is to give them what they desire to have, finally the last option is just completely ignore the foreign issue until it presents itself on U.S. soil. After an online video emerged on Tuesday, January 21st, 2015, showing ISIS threatening to kill two Japanese hostages, relatively little was known about the relationship between the two prisoners. But Reuters News revealed later that next day
"We're looking for opportunities to do more, and there will be boots on the ground, and I want to be clear about that", Secretary of Defense Ash Carter said about defeating ISIS, or the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. Because my partners and I agree with Secretary of Defense Carter, we stand in support of the resolution, Resolved: The US should declare war on ISIS.
I believe that it's only a matter of time before Isis decides to come after the United States. Our politicians are failing to understand that this rise in extremism isn't going anywhere, let's be candid folks these monsters are sharpening their knives and they're around every corner! We seem to tiptoe around the issues by using drone strikes, arming rebels, and use of special forces doesn't seem to be working; and I believe the best way to combat these extremist is by coordinating a simultaneous attack against their leadership, their strongholds, and their money. I'm a firm believer that we must protect ourselves, our interest, uphold the Constitution, and help our allies in their time of
of government, so vicious in itself, has become even more so…The Assembly, by means of its committees constantly oversteps…Nearly all the cities…have been founded in defiance of the laws…” Louis XVI did not agree with the opinion that France could be governed by a ‘National Assembly’ because of its importance and sheer size. “He placed his confidence in the wise men of that Assembly who would recognize that it is easier to destroy a form of government than to reconstruct one on totally different principles.” The king could not see any value in what was being discussed by the National Assembly and was convinced they would eventually crumble as a political system. He then goes on to ask the French public whether or not they were happy with
A threat is looming over the United States like the dense fog of an early fall morning. It promises total chaos that will leave the population in the dark. Imagine everything that uses electricity, which Americans take for granted, just stopped working. Lights, cell phones, running water, all of these are gone in the blink of an eye. This threat has the potential to bring the United States to a grinding halt with little to no casualties, at first. An EMP attack would cripple the United States by ending all electronic usage. According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) is “. . . high-intensity electromagnetic radiation generated by a nuclear blast high above the earth 's surface and held to disrupt electronic and electrical systems.” According to this definition, an EMP attack will disrupt and possibly destroy all electrical systems. Just take a second to think of all the structures Americans rely on that are electrical. Essentially everything. This is why an attack of this kind is so terrifying.
It has become an important target to the U.S., and has also executed multiple victims around the world. There has also been many American citizens who have been arrested for association, or becoming a part of ISIS’s plans to attack the United States. But, this is trending all around the world, and has become difficult to stop spreading. They are causing a tragic flaw in the stability of America, questioning who the true psychopaths are, and where safety lies in America. ISIS have said that they are not only planning to terrorize America, but also segregate it. On the other hand, the United States government believes that, to stop all this brutality in America, we need to cause war in their regions
How could we send our army into another war when we just brought them home. Under President Barack Obama thousands of troops were brought stateside. How could we rip them from their families again because we want to engage in another country's war. As Americans we must recognize when we are needed and when we are not. As of now we need to let the Middle Eastern countries decide what they want to do with terror cells formed in their countries. As of right now we need to focus on our domestic issues rather than foreign
ISIS is a very unique phenomenon occurring in the Middle East. The United States Department of State has designated the entity a foreign terrorist organization (US Department of State 2014). The group is very different than the Islamic extremists that the United States has dealt with over the years. Instead of hiding in remote compounds and living secret lives amongst the general population, ISIS has conquered vast regions of Iraq and Syria. However, ISIS does share similarities with other Islamic terrorist organizations. Several of these terror groups have attacked the United States in the past. Some attempts were unsuccessful, but others were successful. The United States must realize that ISIS is the newest threat to national security and the hindrance to the stabilization of the Middle East. Politicians and counterterrorism operatives must realize that at some point, ISIS will attempt an attack on the United States. Fortunately, the United States has a vast collection of data on Islamic extremists and there organizations. It is possible that the key to creating a counterterrorism strategy exists in the data that has been gathered about other Islamic terror groups. If the objectives and themes of ISIS match that of terror groups that the United States has previously prevented terror attacks from, then perhaps a similar strategy can be effective.
Everyday America is posed with threats from around the globe. Allowing America to spy on other countries provides for the greater good of the economy. There are three main reasons as to why I believe America should have the ability to keep tabs on surrounding countries.
Al-Qaeda is one of the major global militant terrorist that was founded in Peshawar, Pakistan in the year of 1988. Al-Qaeda is consisted a terrorist groups in different countries such as Russia, India, United States, United Nations Security Council, NATO also known as North Atlantic Treaty Organization, the European Union, France, New Zealand, Netherlands, Australia, Brazil, Israel, Japan, India, South Korea, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Ireland, Canada, Phillippines, Turkey, and Sweden. Al-Qaeda was led by Osama Bin Laden, Abdullah Azzam, and several other leaders but the current leader of Al-Qaeda organization is led by Ayman – alZawahiri. Al-Qaeda’s name was created from the War in Afghanistan (December 1979 – February 1989. Al-Qaeda’s current goals are to drive Americans and American influences out of the Muslim nation, to destroy Israel, and to topple pro-western dictatorships around the Middle East. Osama Bin Laden was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 1957, he was the seventeenth child born out of fifty-one children by Mohammad Bin Laden. He went to school in Jiddah, and married at the age of seventeen to Najwa Ghanem in Latiskia, Syria and joined the Islamic Muslim Brotherhood like most other Saudi Arabian young men in the country; his other wives names were Khadijah Sharif, Khairiah Sabar, Siham Sabar, and Amal al-Sadah. Osama bin Laden was on American Federal Bureau of Investigations, the list of the top ten most wanted fugitives, and the most wanted terrorist
The airstrikes and bombing campaigns have prevented ISIS from capturing Baghdad, along with many other cities in the region. These airstrikes have also destroyed a great amount of the Islamic State’s resources, as well as some of its powerful leaders. The Islamic State does not rely on a country or outside source for funding, as it has large oil reserves that it sells on the black market to earn millions of dollars a day. This is one of the main differences between ISIS and al Qaeda, and has allowed ISIS to focus on a long-term plan to create a caliphate in the area. While ISIS has used the attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, as well as the beheadings of American and other foreign prisoners, to strike fear into the rest of the world, attacking them with American troops and other extreme measures could be playing right into their hands. While defeating ISIS as quickly as possible is always the goal, it might take longer than expected to destroy the Islamic State, thus the United States should stay the course and continue to use airstrikes and local forces to attack ISIS, while developing a long-term plan to defeat the Islamic State once and for
Following the Cold War, in the 1990s, there was an absence of direction in US foreign policy, until 9/11 occurred. Since September 11, 2001 the United States has been fighting a war against terrorism. One may ask, what constitutes terrorism? Terrorism is a premeditated, politically motivated, violent attack against noncombatants, to influence an audience, and carried out by a subnational group. To combat global terrorism, as of 2004 the US started to use unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), or drones, to launch missiles and kill terrorists, and the kill to death ratio shows the success of drones.
