Value of Life What is life? In biology, it is the moment of birth till death. As we get older, we begin to plan out our future, either short-term or long-term. Without a map of how we want our life to be like, we question existence. During Steve Jobs near death experience, he used it as a way to value life more. I believe that when death is upcoming, we tend to see life more visible. Steve Jobs and many other people highlight the many points of why life is so meaningful, emphasizing on why letting people’s decisions in their life should not impact the steps you follow in your life. The life you have has a unique meaning, a value that people tend to forget at times. Steve Jobs stated in his Commencement Address at Stanford, “ Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” To me, his quote means to do what you love, don’t let anyone tell you different and just go for it. Ripley includes evidence of two different social class families the Sparacio family and the Fields family. Sparacio family included a current trader and a part-time school psychologist as the occupation of the parents. While the Fields family only had one income which was from a security guard. Even though the Sparacio family holds a higher social class than the Fields family, The Fields were awarded $444,010 due to having three more children than the twin two-year-old sparacio family which were only awarded a small compensation of $138,000. The reason why he spoke about death was to motivate everyone into not wasting time on things they don’t enjoy. Everyone should follow their hearts, and make their own decisions. The beauty of mankind is that we are all unique in countless ways. We are all gifted with our own particular sets of skills, talents and interests. To state the overused cliché, we are all like snowflakes; no two people are exactly alike. I take comfort in the fact that no one can tell me exactly how to live my life solely based on the notion that it’s my life. I am my own person with my own personality, my own set of goals, and my own plans for the future.

Life is actually mesmerizing adventure and actually have no general meaning. Each and every person has their own meaning of life and it is oneself who renders the meaning of one’s life. Life is an opinion. It’s an idea. It begins with the birth of an individual. One day that body will die, but that opinion or idea brought by that individual is immortal. It persists in this world for many years.
Life as we know it could vanish within seconds. The next day is not promised to anyone that walks on this earth. As we live our everyday lives peacefully, we tend not to think what our mission or purpose in life is. Instead, we think what we must do for that to be a “successful” person. Despite this way of thinking, just think for a second. What makes life meaningful? What is life anyway? These questions dive right into the heart of the philosophical, psychological, and the biological aspects of life and what the true meaning of life is. This is a very arguable topic due to every person’s different perspective on life and what it means to them. In summary, I personally think that life is simply what you make of it and each person’s accomplishments has its own merit
