Non-application might flout the purpose of knowledge, but it cannot lead to waning of significance. The value of knowledge is idiosyncratic, it can only be appraised from various perspectives, which will also have its own allegations. Thus, knowledge should be acknowledged as an isolated entity and not as a contingent of application. There is an enthralling connection in-between application and value of knowledge. The value of knowledge is intensified by right application. Knowledge will be valuable for eternity, but theoretically. Sometimes practical application may deem some knowledge to be valuable or not, depending on its consequences. Finally, “Knowledge come from learning. Wisdom comes from living.” as rightly said by Anthony Douglas Williams. So what I conclude is we should learn everything as every sphere of life has possibility for supplementary application of shared and personal knowledge. Experience gained from such application helps individuals incur the faculty of wisdom. Thus, knowledge is irreplaceable, it needs to be premeditated, encompassed and buttressed to be of virtuous consumption to
Knowledge is something that helps us with our everyday lives. We as human beings, need to learn and gain knowledge because it can help us with every situation that occurs. Knowledge is always good. There are also some down sides to learning as well. For one thing, knowledge can make people feel good about yourself, it can teach people to prevent negative events, and it can affect your future.
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” (Mandela). In discussions of education, Newman argues that there should be a common shared knowledge between people. According to statistics, there are 70% of Americans who do not hold a college degree. Newman’s ideas revolve around the belief that everyone should go to college and pursue a higher education. If Newman’s ideas are implemented in today’s society, there will not only be short term difficulties like a greater demand for teachers and supplies but also long term difficulties with America’s economy. Although Newman’s system sounds like it would create a better world in the surface, it would be one which is hard to apply in today’s American society.
What is knowledge?Knowledge is tye gaining of thought, memories, ideas.Knowledge can bring many good qualities ,which are somewhat beneficial ,but what happens when we lust for Knowledge. That is when it becomes a problem because you might create or make sonething you might regret,it can destroy any ethnic or moral value, and it make you look like a crazy person. These qualities lead you and/or other people to death.
The critically acclaimed novel written by Mary Shelley and published in 1818, delves into a multitude of universal themes throughout the text. One value that drives the plot forward, and leads to character development is the theme, human fulfillment of the pursuit of knowledge. It is Dr. Frankenstein 's unquenchable thirst for knowledge that leads to the future predicaments that ensue after the Creature is conceived and future moral dilemma. An example of Dr. Frankenstein 's disposition that lends itself to the validity of the stated theme, is as follows; “It was the secrets of heaven and earth that I desired to learn; and whether it was the outward substance of things, or the inner spirit of nature and the mysterious soul of man that occupied me, still my inquiries were directed to the metaphysical, or, in its highest sense, the physical secrets of the world” (Shelley 30). The doctor 's preoccupation with his studies, that results in controversy over the suitable nature of such an unobtainable desire, is clearly exemplified in the quote, “If the study to which you apply yourself has a tendency to weaken your affections and to destroy your taste for those simple pleasures in which no alloy can possibly mix, then that study is certainly unlawful, that is to say, not befitting the human mind” (45).
Knowledge is a powerful tool, one which will unlock many doors for us as individuals and as the whole of the human race, but we must always remember the consequences of gaining knowledge. It is both our blessing and our curse, and we must never forget that knowledge is a power, what we do with that power will determine our fate and
Albert Einstein once said “A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. So is a lot.” Knowledge can be good because it makes one successful. Then, it can also be very bad such as a criminal being too smart for the police, he or she can keep committing crime. Too much knowledge is dangerous because it may harm many, which means that many die or get scarred for life because of one simple guy with an excess of knowledge.
From a young age, I’ve learned that knowledge is a powerful tool and a necessity in life. Thankfully, I’m one of the few in my family who understands this and chooses to get ahead in life
In the world of modern man, knowledge has been a beacon of hope for a better future. This is not due to the inherent nature of knowledge. Knowledge is neither inherently destructive nor is it empowering. It is a matter of who it is that harnesses its great potential. It is as Uncle Ben says “With great power, comes great responsibility”. This is very true when it comes to knowledge. Knowledge can be used both to help and harm, and it is the responsibility of each and every individual to make the right choice with their knowledge.
After listening to this book, I have identified several themes that are interwoven throughout the book. There are three main themes that are incorporated in the book are sin, knowledge, and the human condition. The first theme, sin, is depicted by the presence of the strong Judeo-Christian origin this country was built on. As we see through Hester’s experience; and with the reaction from society, Christianity was deeply rooted into their culture. As I listened to the some of the adversities Hester faces, it brings me to some experiences of my own. Like Hester being inundated with Christian beliefs, I was also engulfed by the Christian mindset. I was raised as a Christian, but more specifically as a Mormon. I was taught similar morals, values, and beliefs. I was also condemned for similar choices Hester made. I was isolated from the world around me, and was completely alone.
Another important use of knowledge in daily life is in strengthening oneself. Humans can trick another species or person into being a tool for oneself by teaching them important things. For example, in The Midwich Cuckoos “The Grange was opened up as a kind of school-cum-welfare-cum-centre-cum-social-observatory for them” (Pg. 131) meaning the Children. Britain felt as if they should train their Children to become geniuses to beat Russia because they were informed that Russia had been training their Children to become geniuses. If one understands the thoughts and the actions of others one can use that to one’s own benefit. One is then able to act accordingly to the situation one is in and get the best out of that. One can easily make things go
Many concepts can be learnt that all of us can apply to our own life. Without this knowledge, we lack power and the ability to be a productive member of society.
Having a surplus amount of knowledge is often seen as something that is desired. But, sometimes having knowledge that
francis bacon, A pioneer for the enlightenment era, stated knowledge is power. I believe the statement is as relevant in modern time as it was in the 18th century. Pursuing a K-12 education revealed the Finity of knowledge to comprehend are physical world, break biases, and realize the more we know scholarship
It is possible that if we do not use Ways of Knowing in a too contracted and consistent way, it may limit the expanse and form of knowledge we are able to acquire. When attempting to acquire knowledge, one must have assets that will assist the process of solving issues. To a certain degree, Ways of Knowing are not sufficient tools in the process of acquiring knowledge that will assist one in solving problems because too much information comes with each Way of Knowing. Areas of Knowledge such as human sciences and history can aid the focus of the Ways of Knowing reason and perception where you can only acquire relevant information necessary to solve problems.
Everyone should be treated with dignity and respect no matter of the timing of their death, which is the base of human values. Often times, we are afraid of speaking about death that we avoid the topic. As we grow older and we experience substantial loss, we start to come to the realization that we must also accept our own mortality. Dying with dignity is how we confront our own death and how we make our self-worth count. In many culture life and death are perceive as equally important. A person must be able to have autonomy, have their religious believes respected and die in a dignifying way that will not interact with their moral believes.
