It was World War II, and a man by the name John Muller was fighting in Poland for the United States Military against the German Military. John was in a unit that contained about fifty men. John has not seen his family in a year and a half. John had three comrades that he grew up with that were in his unit; Dan Macintosh, Eugene Soap, and Jim Franklin, also known as ghost from disappearing during battle and flanking the enemy during a battle earlier in the year. They all had a great friendship with each other, and they also had each other’s backs. One day while John and Soap were patrolling the camp during the night that their unit had set up along with other units, they heard helicopters in the distance, and they saw lights in the …show more content…
The crates were located on the side closest to the enemy on the field. They saw a large military truck that was close to where they were standing. Dan came up with the idea of using the truck to get to the crates quickly and throw them in the back of the truck and get to the back of the battlefield so that they could be protected while getting out the weapons to take out the helicopters. They hopped in the truck and took off toward the crates. Dan was driving since he came up with the idea. Ghost was in the passenger seat next to him shooting out of the window. John and Soap were in the back wear it was open. Bullets were flying everywhere, and some of them were hitting the side of the truck. They got to the crates. Dan pulled passed the crates so they could load them into the back of the truck quickly. Dan and Ghost laid down in the floor in the front of the truck so the German troops could not shoot them. John and Soap loaded about three four crates; two large machine guns and two rocket launchers. When they got it loaded there was a problem one of the two helicopters noticed the truck and started firing at the truck. Soap started shooting at the helicopter where the pilot was. He told John that he would wish to see him one day in heaven and took off running as a distraction so that the truck could drive to safety. It worked the helicopter started firing and he was gone. As the truck got half- way there it was shot in the
When they gotto the base they found that the navy base had a huge amount of security that you had to get through. First you had to be greeted by a Navy police officer armed with tear gas, pepper spray, a sidearm, and a M-16 semi automatic gun. After you give all the paperwork to him you got to pull up to another police officer with a riot shield in front of him. After this you would go past a huge cement emergency bearer that would pop up in an emergency. This was very intimidating. He was then calmed because he knew how safe would be when he was at the base. They meet Mark at his dorm room. It was like a small house for one. It had one bed, a small kitchen, and a living room right next to the kitchen. Mark had just got done from his classes. He would have a class for a hour and then fly and then have more classes and fly. He said that he would only get about 6 hour of sleep a night, if he were lucky. Then they all went out to eat at the officers club. This is a place that all the navy officers go to eat and drink after a long day of work. After eating Thomas and Sandy went to the Holiday Inn that they were staying at off
In 1914, a war began that would turn into one of the deadliest combats in all of human history. A war that was fought between two alliances named the Triple Entente, consisting of Russia, France and Great Britain, and the Triple Alliance, which consisted of Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy. One of the reasons the war was so deadly was because many of the commanders and generals did not develop the tactics at the rate at which the weapons had progressed. Artillery and Machine Guns would decimate anyone who came over the edge of a trench, leading to millions of deaths. The old style of face-to-face trading fire combat had become obsolete due to the invention of the automatic and semi-automatic weapon. A single gun could now kill or injure
“It was the intervention of the United States which decided the war in favor of the Entente, because of America’s immense military potential and its fresh troops.”
Jets, ships, tanks, and helicopters were everywhere. Anele was scared and she knew she needed to help the government destroy the aliens. Anele climbed a tall building and fired shots at one of the aliens ships. It fell and crashed into thousands of people below. She couldn't believe what had happened and got angry with the aliens. Her fists bawled up and her eyes shot blue rays in the sky. As she turned her head and shot crystals from her hands she hit one of the government's helicopters on accident. She leaped into the air and landed on the crashing helicopter and reached in. She grabbed an officer and held onto him tight and landed safely back onto the ground. She put him down and continued firing into the air. “Are you alright?” she asked as she looked back over he shoulder, only to realize who it was. Sergeant Johnson was standing with his gun pointed at her. “You don’t want to do this.” she yelled. “I knew you were the one behind it all!” He exclaimed while he hit her to the ground. Anele flew back up and noticed a incoming laser from an alien's ship pointing right at Sergeant Johnson’s head. “Dad watch out!” yelled Jack from the distance. Anele flung herself forward grabbing Johnson by the vest. Jack rushed over to see his father when Anele landed. Johnson stood up and gave Anele a dirty look and continued on his way back to the prison. “This isn’t over, you little devil!” Anele holds her anger in and falls to her knees. [At that very moment.
There are many places on Earth that have a disputable history. Crimea is somewhere in the top of those places. This is due to the very complex situations that this peninsula and its inhabitants have faced throughout the history. Undoubtedly, history is one of the complex factors that played a crucial role and ultimately led to the seizure of the peninsula. First inhabitants of Crimea were the Cimmerian people in the 5th century B.C. They were followed by Greeks in the 1st century B.C. and then by Romans in 1st A.D. During the next millennium, the peninsula was overrun by many tribes. Among these tribes were Mongols and the Byzantines. Golden Horde, the Tatars, settled in Crimea in the 15th century. The Tatars are considered Crimean
World War II was the mightiest struggle humankind has ever seen. It killed more people, cost more money, damaged more property, and affected more people in nearly every country than any other war in history. It is estimated that more than 55 million people. More than 50 countries took part in the war, and the whole world felt its effects. Men fought in almost every part of the world, on every continent except Antarctica. Chief battlegrounds included Asia, Europe, North Africa, the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, and the Mediterranean Sea. The United States hoped to stay out. Drawing on its experience from World War I, Congress passed a series of Neutrality Acts between 1935 and 1939, which were intended to prevent Americans becoming
Hi my is Conor Corcoran since or topic was World War II we choose historical figure that were important in the war. A uncommon figure for the Axis was Maria Mandel, she is our queen because she was one of the most ruthless chief guards responsible for killing 500,000 female Jews, Gypsies, and political prisoners. Thank you so much for your time, and now I'm going to pass the mic off to Leroy to give even more details about our different pieces thanks.
September 3, 1939 was the day that many people’s lives changed. That is date of which Great Britain entered World War II. Great Britain would fight alongside the allied powers, which consisted of USSR, France, and US. The axis powers, which consisted of Germany, Italy, and Japan, would try and bomb the allied powers into surrender. This brutal war would go on for nearly five and a half years, finally ending on May 8, 1945. The end of the war marked both celebration and mourning. For Great Britain some major turning points during the war were the Battle of Britain, and the invasion scare. Many families had to make sacrifices during the war, some of them life changing. The people of Great Britain refused to go to war and were in denial, many of them would not listen to future Prime Minister Winston Churchill. Churchill warned the people about Hitler and Nazi Germany . Because of everybody’s fear of the war, Britain was not prepared when it came time for the country to enter the war.
On August 2nd, 1914, Germany’s military began moving troops through neutral Belgium in an indirect attempt to weaken the French Army. Ultimately the plan, first penned in 1905 by German Field Marshall, Alfred Von Schlieffen, involved a swift invasion of France, complete debilitation of its military, followed by a defensive operation on the Empire’s lengthy shared border with Russia. Although the assassination of Austro-Hungarian archduke Franz Ferdinand did not occur for nearly 9 years after the formation of the plan, tensions had been rising within continental Europe for the past two decades. Tensions were especially heavy along the western coast of the continent, where land disputes over the Alsace-Lorraine territories had strained
After the last great global conflict, the Second World War was the most extensive and lethal war in history, which involved more than 30 countries. It marked more than 50 million military and civilian deaths. Though dumbfounded by the events of December 7, Americans were also determined. President Roosevelt asked Congress to declare war against Japan On December 8. The declaration passed with just one rebel vote. After three days, Germany and Italy, connected with Japan, declared war on the United States. America was involved into a global war. Great Britain and the Soviet Union were in allies in this fight. The job the nation faced in December 1941 was daunting. During World War II, some 350,000 women made a huge job both at home and abroad in the U.S. There is one thing that states: In World War II there were believe that women became skilled of all kind of roles in the workforce in society, and that was permanently impressed on the public awareness. Even though the World War II made significant change in women’s life; however, it did not necessarily bring new employment, military, and civil rights opportunities to black women compare with white Americans. Moreover, while white American women in military and other area also shared a history of discrimination based on gender, African American faced as well as gender and race discrimination. Primarily forbidden that African American women obstinately kept on their right to manage that was given from official military status.
World War 2 was undoubtedly one of the most important events in history not only for what happened throughout the six years of war but also the aftermath of the war. Beyond the casualties and deaths this devastating war would open new doors for technology advancement, medicine innovations and creations also changes in music ,art ,sports and culture. Furthermore back home in the United States the role of women was beginning to shape up during the conflict at the other side of the world . Previous verbal arguments between countries escalated and led to previous physical encounters.Such as that of the first world war which took place from July 28, 1919 until November 11,1918 with an estimated 16.5 million deaths in both military and civilian
Everyone stayed still and no one dared to speak. After what felt like an eternity one of the men told us that an agreement had been reached. “You will be taken by us to egypt in two helicopters. You’ll be split up in two groups. Don,t try doing anything or we will shoot you on the spot.” we were taken to an airport where the lights were out. What are they going to do to us in Egypt? They split us in the two groups and I was separated from Eliezer Are we going to be left for dead? The men escorted us to the helicopters Are we going to rescued? And almost as if on cue, two shots were came from the roof the airport. We're saved! The men that had taken us started to fire back. Soon a free for all had started. All we could do was watch and hope for the best. For some reason I knew that we were going to make out alive. As the fight dragged two of the masked men and one officer had been killed. Suddenly I saw a ball fly through the air and land in the other helicopter. I realized what the ball was and the helicopter exploded. Eliezer! I couldn't believe my eyes. My friend was gone. Just like that. The fight went on for a bit more and one more of the masked men was shot. Another one of the masked men went out of cover and started running. He was running towards us. When he got there he lifted his gun and pointed it at Kehat
After becoming Reich Chancellor in 1933, Hitler swiftly consolidated power, anointing himself Führer (supreme leader) in 1934. Obsessed with the idea of the superiority of the “pure” German race, which he called “Aryan,” Hitler believed that war was the only way to gain the necessary “Lebensraum,” or living space, for that race to expand. In the mid-1930s, he began the rearmament of Germany, secretly and in violation of the Versailles Treaty. After signing alliances with Italy and Japan against the Soviet Union, Hitler sent troops to occupy Austria in 1938 and the following year annexed Czechoslovakia. Hitler’s open aggression went unchecked, as the United States and Soviet Union were concentrated on internal politics at the time, and neither France nor Britain (the two other nations most devastated by the Great War) were eager for confrontation.
Despite varying opinions on what actual triggered the start of World War II, Hitler ordering the invasion of Poland on September 1st, 1939 is believed to be the true mark of the beginning of the Second World War. Germany had been pondering war with Poland since the 1920s and recovering lost territory was considered the main objective (Radzilowski J., 2004). However, the initial reason for the German invasion of Poland was “Hitler’s drive for Lebensraum (living space) in the east (Beevor A., 2012).” Hitler’s so called “drive for living space” resulted in the consequence of the single most deadly war in world history to date. As a result of the invasion, since Poland was in alliance with Britain and France, Poland received support from both countries.
Theo delivered the beacon and planted it at the end of the tunnel, his watch read 8:24 pm the bombs were 6 minutes away, as he was planting the beacon a flash of light that could only be described as the light of a thousand sons filled the sky as the tunnel collapsed on him, 2 tons of dirt buried him in the earth, the others realized their plan had failed, so in the chaos of the guards scurrying about Rich stole some wire cutters from the storage house, he cut a hole in the fence small enough to be missed by a spotlight but large enough to get 43 prisoners out many were spotted and gunned down, those left stumbled through the woods the adrenaline soured in their
