CamelBak To begin, in 1989 bicycle enthusiast Michael Edison, formed an idea from the most basic human need, thirst. Competing in the “Hotter’N Hell 100” bike race in the grueling summer heat of Wichita Falls, Texas, Edison was aware water was vital to surviving the race. As an emergency technician by trade, Edison decided to fill an IV bag with water and slipped it into a white tube sock to complete the race. This is where hands-free hydration was born. It took courage, conviction, and imagination to evolve from and IV bag in a tube sock, but CamelBak’s core values remain the same and drive everything they do- from investing in the hydration category to becoming the world’s leading maker of hydration solutions (CamelBak’s Webpage). CamelBak’s mission is to continually reinvent and forever change the way people hydrate and perform, along with a vision to replace bottled water as the most common way to hydrate. In addition, CamelBak continues to introduce new products with a focus towards how it’s made and the way it impacts people’s lives and the environment. With such a focus, CamelBak hopes to broaden their customer base, as well as continue to inspire those who are passionate about their products. As one of the largest companies in the outdoor industry, and the leading provider of personal hydration products for outdoor, recreation, and military use, CamelBak has a lot of growth opportunities. Fulfilling the purpose, after concluding this experiment, the formula of an unknown hydrate was able to be identified. In order to obtain the data needed to develop a response to the purpose, multiple measurements were collected. The mass of an evaporating dish was measured without copper (II) sulfate hydrate (before and after heating), then measured with copper (II) sulfate hydrate before heating and with anhydrous after heating. Initially, the mass of an evaporating dish was recorded, then the dish was heated and the mass was again recorded. Through this additional step of heating, it insured that no excess water remained in the dish which, as a result, would alter the data. Copper (II) sulfate hydrate was added to the dish and the mass was

In most recent years many Australians have embraced fitness and healthy eating into their lifestyle, therefore advancing the average mount franklin water into a sports oriented drink will encourage consumers to choose mount franklin sports for hydration during sports or daily exercise. Repositioning the product using mount franklin’s existing product for a new market expands the consumer base using existing brand loyalty to launch the new product. “One of the biggest challenges facing the bottled water industry is how to respond to the environmental claims levelled against it” (Grocer). Every time someone throws a bottle away, they have taken up more space in a landfill for the next four hundred fifty to one thousand years. Besides the long decomposition rate, water bottles are the cause of several more environmental issues. Overfilling landfills, health hazards caused by refilling, and the economic stresses due to the constant and inconvenient repurchasing are just a few of the negatives water bottles have on us. These plastic pollutants are doing more harm to both the environment and their users than good.
The bottle can extract the humidity out of the air and turn it into water. It collects the humidity from the air and condenses it into drinkable water. The device, dubbed Fontus, can be attached to a bike so that cyclists can generate water from all the moisture in the air. The Fontus uses the basic principle of condensation. This solar-powered device consists of a condensator that is connected to a series of,like body cells, hydrophobic surfaces that repel water. As the device takes in air, and the surfaces get cold, you are left with condensation. The Fontus takes in air in a vapor state and converting it into a liquid state. The Fontus can produce 0.5 liters of water in one hour in what is considered really good conditions, with temperatures

Since their ban on bottled water, Zion national park has seen the sales of reusable water bottles increase by 78% (NPS [date unknown]). They estimate that the increase of reusable water bottle use has decreased the amount of water bottles sold each year by about 60,000 bottles, which is equivalent to 5,000 pounds of plastic waste (NPS [date unknown]). In addition, the park service awarded Zion with an environmental achievement award in 2009 for their success in reducing the use of bottled water (Squires 2010). This award was given to Zion just a year after they had finalized in the ban in 2008, showing not only what a success their ban was, but also how much bottled water use can decrease in just a year (Squires 2010).

Have you ever had any concerns about bottled water? Do you think that bottled water consumption should be banned? Bottled water is water packed in plastic containers and sold for human consumption (Health Canada, 2013). Currently, the amount of bottled water consumed has increased considerably since many people feel it is safer drinking bottled water than tap water (Parent and Wrong, 2014). According to The Statistics Portal, the global sale of bottled water took a leap from 161, 589 to 181, 608 liters from 2009 to 2011. Only in the United States, each American citizen consumed around 32 gallons of bottled water in 2013, thus meaning an equivalent growth of 15, 94% over 2009 (The Statistics Portal, 2014). In fact, due to good portability, bottled water has been helpful in both simple and complex situations such as daily exercises and natural disasters. Even though having those few considerable advantages, bottled water still have been less beneficial; especially due to the negative impacts in the socio-economic, health and environmental fields.
