On April 3, 2018, I received a called from Ms. Judi from Jim Herrings office to let me know that I had a 2:30pm meeting with Mr. Herring. Once I arrive down stairs Mr. Herring was in unexpected meeting with the Mayor. I was then told I could go in Mr. Jim office since the Mayor left at 2:41pm. Once in his office I was joined with Ms. Pamacheche, and Chief of Staff Davison. During the meeting we were talking about my timesheet and why I will only get paid for 48 hours when I was approved of administrative leave for the following dates of March 21-25, 2018. I sent Mr. Davison the email on March 20, 2018, and I received and approval email from Mr. Davison that evening.
Dick Leet stopped in to the Waterloo Recreational Center one day to take pictures of his artwork when Ray Forsberg, Superintendent at the Waterloo Recreational Center asked Leet to look at a letter he had received. The letter from the MacNider Board of Trustees requested candidates for the director position. Leet working to finish his Master’s Degree and waiting to hear more information on the MacNider’s directing position, found himself being offered two more jobs at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa and the Waterloo Recreational Center. After receiving more information about the director position at the MacNider, Leet and his wife Kay went to Mason City to explore the opportunity. Both excited about the opportunity Leet decided
Organizations all have challenges that they deal with, no matter the type. These challenges are designed to make the leaders within the organization better and fulfil the overall goal of the organization. Currently, I work for Durham Parks and Recreation (DPR) and many of the organizational challenges mentioned in the lecture and the readings relate to my experiences as well. For example, in Bolman & Deals “Reframing Organizations” they mentioned that “The result is managers are often nearly as clueless as their subordinates…..Managers and those who try to help them too often rely on narrow models that capture only part of organizational life”. This relates directly to how things are run in my organization. I feel that sometimes our supervisors/managers

A grievance technique is a method for inside debate determination by which a worker may have his or her grievances tended to. Most aggregate bartering understandings incorporate methodology for documenting and determining grievances. Inside of a union situation, the procedures will regularly include the worker, union agents and individuals from the business' administration
The following process for union free environment is to present their complaints through management and as far as the court system. The following is a procedure for the grievance reporting process. The employee will bring the issue up to the immediate supervisor at that time of the issue; if it is not resolved it will then move on to the next step which is the manager. The grievance should at that time be resolved, however, if it needs to move on because the issue has not be resolved it will at that time move on to upper management.
The leave I requested for October 11th and 12th was family sick leave. My husband was stressed to prepare some documents. When he gets stressed, his blood pressure goes up. He had to rest, because of high blood pressure. I requested sick leave since I was not comfortable to talk about his health issues. I had to stay home and take of him, and help him to prepare all his documents. If I had not stayed home and taken care of the issue, his blood pressure could get worse and out of control. I had to monitor his blood pressure and make sure it is under control. Please change those 2 days to family sick leave.
There are many workers in the nation, many of whom are working in the public sector amongst various specialties, though whether they are a productive worker or are motivated enough to be an effective worker is of question. The policy in mention aims to provide possible solutions to incentivizing workers to increase their productivity, as well as their wellness during the job and in their personal life. The policy will affect those already working and those who are seeking public jobs, for, in the United States, there are approximately 22 million public workers in the nation . On the other hand, the policy will affect tax payers who vote on how to spend their tax dollars. Another key to the policy is allowing the organization to
The therapeutic recreation process is a systematic method of planning and providing services for individuals with disabilities. The process is based on a systems theory approach. The system is designed for a guide for a well-defined, goal-oriented purpose to the activity or program being provided. It involves four phases: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Use of the therapeutic recreation process is not dependent on location, but on systematic and consistent use of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating services for people with disabilities. The process is applied in settings like hospitals, long-term facilities and useful in leisure education and recreation participation settings, like park and recreation
Another man’s trash is another man’s treasure. This is exactly what goes down at the Long Beach Outdoor Antique and Collectable Market at Veterans Stadium. I had the pleasure of visiting this event last week. Let me tell you, this experience was one for the books. Being a rookie towards the flea market/ swap meet experience I had no idea what to expect. Doing a little research, I stumbled upon a definition that gave me a little foundation of what I was getting myself into. By definition, flea markets are "regularly recurring event involving the participation of several vendors of used merchandise, collectibles, discounted new merchandise--but not
A grievance is a formal, itemized complaint to management that it has treated one or more employees unfairly or has violated the contract or collective bargaining agreement. (http://ohrm.cc.nih.gov/wepa/grievanceafge.htm)
Comments: I adhere to my work schedule by arriving on time and following my lunch and break schedules. I have notes from doctors for all sick time that I have taken. Any unplanned absences are rare and leave that I take is done so with consideration of my caseload and the caseload of others in the unit, (i.e. I never request leave on days that I have group or court). When I was covering the worklist of a vacant caseload, I did not take any leave time or have any absences.
