Research. An action presumed as helpful that can give you a lot of information on topics and subjects you are interested in or forced to do a project on. It can also give you background information and insight on the matters you are looking up. Although research is supposed to be helpful, that is not always the case. This is especially the case when it came to researching the book "First They Killed My Father" by Loung Ung. I think that researching the book "First They Killed My Father" and researching Loung Ung and the war was not helpful at all as 75% of the information we researched was irrelevant. And this information was put on the charts which, I quote, were said to be "very informative and done well". I completely disagree with that statement. …show more content…

Peace Fellowship going to help me with this book? How is knowing she went to Saint Michael's College going to ever be useful in the course of the next month or my life? Knowing she currently lives in Cleveland Ohio doesn't matter in regards to being able to fluently read this book. Knowing she is currently alive isn't important because we can clearly see that she's alive if she wrote a book that was published in 2000. So, I think in that regard this was a waste of time. Additionally, the information we covered in regards to the book wasn't helpful at all and ruined parts of the book. Knowing she grew up in Phnom Penh before we read the book doesn't matter because the text clearly says on page 1 "My family lives on a third-floor apartment in the middle of Phnom Penh".
