The film Corpse bride is about Victor (Johnny Depp) and Victoria's (Emily Watson) families have set up their marriage. They like each other, but Victors nervous about the wedding. While he's in the woods practicing his lines for the wedding, a branch turns into a hand that drags him to the underworld. It belongs to Emily, who was murdered after eloping with her love and wants to marry Victor. Victor must get back aboveground before Victoria marries the evil Barkis Bittern. Due to Tim Burton’s Style and habits I recommend Corpse Bride because it has a creepy kind of misty vibe to it. Young Children would like the movie. The setting of this film takes place in two main areas the underworld and the Living world. This film Takes place in the underworld
“We do not fear the unknown. We fear what we think about the unknown.” Is a quote from Teal Swan. This idea is incorporated into a lot of director’s movies, however, Tim Burton, a creator of many famous movies, would probably have one of the best understandings of this idea. This is through Burton’s constant use of ideas about the unknown in many of his films. Yet, these ideas of fearing the unknown and curiosity of the unknown are especially prominent in Burton’s films such as The Corpse Bride and Edward Scissorhands. There are a great amount of techniques Burton uses to convey these ideas of the unknown, but Burton typically uses techniques such as some sort of misfit protagonist that is different than most people and a judgmental
When I was little, my mother always read me stories before bed. I couldn’t sleep without hearing the happy ending that I always knew was coming. The Princess Bride, a movie about a grandfather who reads his sick grandson a book about a Farm boy named Wesley and his true love Buttercup. In this fairytale they must overcome great obstacles while fighting for their love. This movie brings me right back to my childhood cuddling up under my covers hanging on my mothers every word. Although it is at some points unrealistic and predictable, The Princess Bride is an interesting, humorous, and heartwarming movie due to its’ setting, comical characters, and deep true love story.
To begin with, in my opinion Tim Burton’s movie produced by Dream Works, Corpse Bride is a dark and interesting movie with a well set up setting. During Burtons unique interesting film he used costuming as a way to build great character. As everyone should expect since it’s a Tim Burton film, the characters had a spooky type of look and a dark presence considering they were dead. As most of the characters in this film had a nasty and negative attitude and perspective on everything going on and in their life in general, Victor and Victoria (Johnny Depp and Emily Watson) had a more of a positive and fun/curious outlook on life even when others didn’t or kept them from being who they want to be. The way Burton set up this story of 2 lovers is interesting and a fun thing to watch and entertain you for all ages. The way Burton used his setting could have an effect on younger readers or watchers making them feel scared and or interested.
For this assessment, I based my film on the concept of the living dead. I was inspired by Tim Burton’s film ‘Corpse Bride’ as he uses bluish hues to exemplify that themes are out of the ordinary. With my main protagonist being a young female photographer, I utilised her as the damsel in distress. The film begins with a piece of paper swaying through the air and landing softly. I used a close-up shot here to allow the reader to see what is written. The point of the close-up is to foreshadow what will happen and thus, it also alludes to the audience that this note is important. From the start, I had decided to start the film with the movie instead of a title as I believe that it will engage and capture the audiences’ attention. The non-diegetic
In the film Tim Burton, the Corpse Bride Victor Van Durt and Victoria Everglat have been arranged to marry one another. Sadly, Emily is deceased. Victor accidently marries Emily after a peculiar walk in the woods. Victor must find a way to get back to Victoria Everglat and make his way to his beloved wife in sickness and health. Tim Burton’s prenominal work in the Corpse Bride is expressive and interesting due to the setting, character and plot.
With a net worth of one hundred and forty million dollars, Tim Burton is greatly known to be a creative mastermind. He has made many amazing movies aimed toward children but also aimed at adults. He creates tales that have nightmarish feelings and makes you worry about the things that go bump in the night. His style is unique to him and he uses many cinematic techniques to his advantage. Some of the many techniques that create Burton's uniquely creepy, yet childish style in many of his amazing works are lighting, camera movements, and music.
The director of critically acclaimed movies such as The Corpse Bride, Edward Scissorhands, and the Alice in Wonderland 2010 remake creates fantastic oddities with wickedly funny and grotesquely hilarious gothic style, spotted with poignant moments that make the heart melt. By using a variety of cinematic techniques such as lighting, angles, and music, Tim Burton condones the global audience to take a peek at the dark side. Incorporating all of the cinematic techniques in a unique way, Burton creates tone, character and imagery, and mood.
The film takes place in San Fernando Valley where it revolves around eleven characters about their stories in one particular day. These stories have a little connection with each other as it involves dealing with their past and having
“The director Tim Burton wages a valiant battle to show us new and wonderful things. In a Hollywood that placidly recycles the same old images, Burton uses special effects and visual tricks to create sights that have never been seen before.”-Roger Ebert. This is true, Tim Burton uses a variety of cinematic techniques such as lighting, music and sound, and even camera angles to display the mood of a scene and the characters in it that the audience can understand and even relate to on a more personal level.
Tim Burton, arguably one of the most iconic directors in the world, is responsible for many popular films including Frankenweenie, Alice in Wonderland, and Beetlejuice. His movies are easily distinguishable due to his unique style of directing, which involve the brilliant use of cinematic techniques. Two cinematic techniques incorporated in his films are color and sound, which are used to establish the tone and mood of the scenes. If the tone and mood are not accurately shown, underlying messages could be easily misunderstood or overlooked. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, and Edward Scissorhands all have a common message: appearances can be deceptive. Therefore, the cinematic technique of sound and color are essential
The movie takes place in Sierra Leone in 1999. The country has been devastated by major political unrest. The Revolutionary United Front intimidates locals and capturing many people to mine diamonds. They use the diamonds to fund their ongoing war. One local fisherman named Vanday gets separated from his family and forced to word for a harsh warlord named Captain Poison. One day Vanday finds a large pink diamond in the bottom of a river. The warlord tries to steal the stone from Vanday.
In the words of Tim Burton, “One person’s craziness is another person’s reality.” This is the truth for the magical movies he has put together. Burton grew up different from others; he was an outcast from the people around him. Enjoying B movies, he would watch them a great deal. Out of all the characters, Burton preferred the monsters or strange creatures. Some inspirations to him are Edgar Allen Poe, Roald Dahl, and Vincent Price. He frowns upon conformity, for he prefers individuality. What is normal to Burton could be completely wild to another. In Tim Burton’s distinctive films, he uses symbolism and the comparison of individuality and conformity to emphasize the purity of an outsider.
Tim Burton has a great deal of cinematic techniques that make his movie stand out more than others, but the three techniques that make it come through more to me is the Music, Lighting, and Shot. So in this essay I will be explaining how these techniques will generate a world of Tim Burton’s own.
Corpse Bride is an extremely stylized animation based around German Expressionism. The social seclusion of Germany that began in the early 1900s and peaked in the 1920s caused a series of artistic movements that create today's concept of German Expressionism. Tim Burton uses this style of lopsided buildings, sharp shadows, lack of colors, slow movements, and intense orchestration to enhance his films all based around the concepts of love and of death. He uses obscure concepts and stories enhanced with German Expressionism to create a new outlook on common themes we've seen reused in not just films but stories as old as time. Specifically Tim Burton's Corpse Bride combines the concepts of both love and death to completely reinvent the tale
