Timmy: A Short Story

This is a fictional story. The scent of food wafted down the hall. “No,” a high pitched shriek echoed towards me. “Please, just give it back.” A lower, more mean voice taunted back, “Why should I, you little idiot?” I round the corner. Shoved up against the lockers is Timmy; my brother. Standing over him is Chris; who bullies the less popular kids. In Chris’s hand lay Timmy’s lunch box and binder. I feel heat swirl in my chest. Timmy, who is one of the nicest guys I know, is getting picked on because he is considered a “nerd” at our school. I look around. There’s a few onlookers, but none of them are stepping in to help Timmy. Chris grabs some carrots out of the lunchbox and tosses them down the hallway. With a snicker he says, “fetch doggie.” …show more content…

”Chris, give Timmy his stuff,” I say in a more demanding tone. “You think I care about you?” He replies with a snort. I walk over and snatch the bag out of his hands. Then I fake punch him.”Fine, I’ll give you your precious stuff,” he replies in a mocking tone. He stalks off. I help Timmy up. “Thank’s dude,” he stutters, “just, thanks.” Violence is caused in young people’s lives when they act upon impulse from emotions that they may not even believe. Emotions cause violence. Anger causes violence. Hate causes violence. Envy causes violence. Envy, hatred, anger, these all cause violence, and they are all emotions. Bullying is from emotions. Usually, the kids that bully others are conflicted at their homes or with their parents/guardians. Stress and other stuff like that can cause them to bring other kids down, and make those kids lives bad, so they aren’t alone. With bullies, their bad emotions aren’t directly related to the peer they are tormenting, but at what they are enduring in their lives. The most that happens to me is occasional teasing. Also luckily, I don’t know anyone else that’s been bullied. Though I may not know anyone that gets bullied, I can tell what effects come from the bullying. The effects of violence is damage physically, but more importantly, it’s the damage mentally. People get hurt from violence, but it’s the lasting impact on their mind and brain that really hurts them. If a person gets bullied, the physical injuries will go away, but the lasting insecurities will never go away. That’s why people commit suicide. They get insecure from the bullying, which pressures them to kill themselves. The physical damage goes away, but the mental damage never
