CM spoke to Beth DuVall SW at Trinitas Hospital this afternoon. Beth informs CM that Tina is doing well on the unit. CM and Beth spoke about Tina's recent behaviors. and what lead her to be admitted onto the CCIS unit. CM gave Beth an update on what has been going on with Tina and the recommendations that she refuses to attend. Beth states that she is going to call a meeting for one day next week. In mid-April 2000, Sherri Worth was faced with some very unsettling news about Pate Memorial Clinic’s future with a competitor potentially moving into the area. Worth was the assistant administrator at Pate Memorial Hospital (PMH) and was also responsible for the Pate Health Clinic (PHC). During my 4 months after my winter semester, I’ve been working for a company which seems well known around the city of Mississauga and West End of Toronto called Trillium Health Partners. Trillium Health Partners is a hospital which has a tremendous and outstanding record of their performance, fiscal responsibility and patient care. From what I’ve seen from working there, everybody achieves and support high quality care that when patients from the community come into the hospital and leaves looking satisfied. On 02/012016, at approximately 1833hrs, Officer Estimond unit 3610 was dispatched to a reported subject urinating inside of the train located on the southbound platform at Doraville station.. Once Estimond made contact with Mullins, he realized that Mullins was staggering and unable to stand alone. Officer Estimond also smelled the scent of alcohol coming from Mullins breath. Mullins was arrested for Drunkennes and transfered to Doraville city jail. Doraville refused to intake Mullins because of his drunkenness. officer Estimond returned with Mullins back to Doraville Station and called for an Ambulance to respond. Dekalb EMS #54 arrived, treated Mullins on scene and decided to transfer Mullins foR further evaluation to Northside hospital.
The North Texas State Hospital (NTSH) is part of the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) administration. Columbus, Ohio Memorial Hospital (COMH) has implemented an electronic medical record (EMR) since 2010, which has clearly demonstrated great improvement in patient care. During my work experiences, one of the concerns the physicians voiced were they were unable to communicate patient information to other providers or staff without having access to electronic medical records (EMR) in front of them, at that given time. The concerns expressed were that there was countless times that a physician had to wait on lab results to base their decision on patient care, while located at another facility. Physicians have experienced the frustration of inconvenient, slow or missing communication in their facilities when caring for their patients. In addition,
After surveying employees from Delta Regional Medical Center, study showed that the faculty did not have a violence protection plan in place to protect their employees in case a violent act should occur. In 2014, Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center was cited after an OSHA inspection uncover that the facility's workplace violence program was ineffective, with many employees unaware of its purpose, specifics, or existence," (Occupational Health & Safety, 2014). The inspection showed that approximately 40 incidents of workplace violence reported between Feb. 7 and April 12, 2014 involved employees who were threatened or physically and verbally assaulted by patients and visitors, or when they were breaking up altercations between patients
The patients’ comments support the score of HCAHPS. Out of 75 negative comments, 33 of them address the issue of noisiness while only 1 out of 17 positive comments support the statement that area around the room is quiet at night. Therefore, it is evident that the HCAHPS claim on why Herzog Memorial Hospital has low satisfaction is valid.
Trinity Community is challenged with two current healthcare trends. The first trend is related to Medicare and how doctors are paid on Medicare claims. Medicare’s primary coverage group is for people older than 65 years of age. Medicare also covers some people under 65 that have certain disabilities as well as people of any age that have End-Stage Renal Disease. Year after year, lawmakers have been trying to fix a part of the Medicare law that would cut payments to doctors. Since the late 1980’s, the cuts would continue to grow annually and eventually exceed a 20% pay cut.
The case study revolves around the issue of Occupational Safety and Health Administration [OSHA] compliance at Graceland Memorial Hospital [GMH], a non-profit community hospital located in the midwest. Under current OSHA regulations, the hospital was required to enforce correct usage of respiratory mask and conduct respiratory fir-testing. This new update was to protect employees who had frequent contact with patients that suffered from airborne communicable diseases and to prevent its further spread. Columbus Regional Health (n.d.) serves 10 counties in Southeast Indiana. The demographics include a predominantly Caucasian population of approximately 300,000 people (Economic Opportunities through Education by 2015, n.d.). In southeastern Indiana, about 140,000 individuals have employment, and 15% of them, who are over the age of 24, have a bachelor’s degree (Economic Opportunities through Education by 2015, n.d.). Approximately 30% of the high-school students drop out in this mainly rural area with a flat population growth (Economic Opportunities through Education by 2015, n.d.).
Twin Oaks Hospital in Lexington, Colorado is a 100-bed hospital with a staff of 350 employees that include over 200 nurses and 40 clerical and secretarial employees, the majority of which are women. Recently the staff has had some apprehension and discontent over pay levels. Lexington Memorial Hospital, a public facility near to Twin Oaks recently agreed to demands from their nursing and clerical staff to increase wages five percent. They further agreed to introduce a job evaluation program which would evaluate the nursing and secretarial jobs based on comparable worth and that results of the study would be utilized as the basis for any future pay adjustments. As a result of this the staff at Twin Oaks has come to demand similar wage
