He has two older brothers, Francis and Thanasis, and two younger brothers, Kostas and Alexis. Giannis originally lived in Athens and later moved to Sepolia, Greece. Hoechner was born on Sept. 8, 1994, in Cambridge, Massachusetts to Bruce and Judith Hoechner. He spent nearly half of his childhood in Yardley, Pennsylvania where he attended high school at Pennington Preparatory School. During his time there, he ran track, achieved academic honors, and received drum and music awards. Hoechner graduated high school with honors in 2012. Hoechner spent the remainder of his childhood traveling around China, Thailand, and Australia due to his father’s occupation.

Twenty One Pilots is an alternative hip hop band originated from Columbus, Ohio. The band consists of duo Tyler Joseph as the lead singer, and Joshua Dunn as the drummer. The band formed in 2009 and they have two self-released albums. They got their first big break in 2015 when their song “Stressed Out” hit number one on Billboard. The band has a very large fan base and it still continues to grow. Twenty One Pilots came to the Zoo Amphitheater in Oklahoma City on July 9, 2016. I went to their previous concert in Oklahoma City in October of 2015 and absolutely loved it. So my expectations for their 2016 concert were very high and they were not let down.
