Another Uber driver accused for an assault
One of the leading online transportation services in the United States is the Uber. The ride sharing service was started by Garret Camp and Travis Kalanick in 2009. They operate their business in many countries in the world. The riders have to book their ride by sending request using the mobile app and the drivers will receive notification.
Even though they provide best services, the ride hailing company always gets accused for the trouble caused by their drivers. In late February, an Uber driver was accused for murdering six passengers in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In the middle of the ride, the driver stopped the car and started shooting at the passengers. Then, the driver was arrested by the city police.
Uber drivers are required to pass a criminal background check in order to be eligible for employment with the ride-hailing transportation service, but drivers with serious criminal histories have slipped through the cracks, and some cities where Uber operates want answers.
Currently there’s news which is creating a question in the public’s mind that is this the correct thing done by Uber, a rideshare app producing company, which passed a strange order that any passenger or driver should not be carrying any firearm into the vehicle while they are on drive and if in case they see any violation there would be serious action and they would not be allowed to access the Uber’s services anymore. Are you wondering is Uber safe for drivers and how to use it safely? If yes then this is the place where you can find the answer for this question:
“It’s a simple experience and a much more pleasant way to get a ride than stepping onto a busy street and waving at oncoming traffic” (Stone, 2014, p. 53). It is convenient for both the employee and customer to arrange a ride, which makes Uber preferable. Additionally, the employees of Uber are given more benefits than the employees of taxi companies. For example, Uber issues an iPhone with the Uber software, free gear to secure it to their windshield and an hour of orientation (Stone, 2014, p. 52). It is this simplicity that appeals to people seeking employment. They are also using a platform that is accessible to many of their customers, because, as of 2015, “64% of American adults now own a smartphone of some kind” (Smith, 2015). Since their focus is on luxury, innovation, and results, they have transformed the public transportation system in their favor.
They will try to bring alcohol into the car with them. This is not allowed. An open container of alcohol in your car can lead to a DUI even if you aren’t drinking. At the very least, an officer who stops you is going to investigate. Your riders are going to be investigated and the ride is going to be a disaster. You can even lose your car insurance just for your rider having an open container in your vehicle.
I like the idea of using Uber as your example. I personally like using Uber than calling Cab just because it is more easy to have access to them. Using the Uber application, you can track down to see where my driver is at, and how long it takes for them to get to my location. However, for a Cab, you do not have that ability. In the health care profession, I believe there are clinics that allow you make your appointment online rather calling in and set up a date. Something when I call in to make my appointment, I have to wait for at least 5 or 10 mintues, but I saw there is a option at different clinic that made easy for patient to simply make appointment
If law is ever-changing then, due to shifts in societal norms, it is also arbitrary. Take getting a speeding ticket for example; at some point in time when the automobile became commercialized, speed standards were set to make sure drivers are safe. However, even though a multitude of driving laws exist, it seems like most people speed. Why? Because there is some tacit agreement that it is okay in most situations; the preconceived idea of “safety” is changing, since people acknowledge it is okay to drive fast if following distance and alertness are maintained. As Gambetta echoes Santi Romano, “we all know how arbitrary, contingent, and variable are the criteria with which the state rules on the legality or illegality of some associations,”
Bravo! You’ve somehow passed your background check and talked your way through the big interview. Now you’re an official Uber driver! From this day forward your pay depends on the amount of fares you get. To maximize your passengers, you need a perfect five-star rating on your Uber profile. Here is a list of ten tips to gain that perfect score:
Hi, I'm Steve working as a school bus driver. I love children but managing all students in a school bus is a risky business. Often, I have confusion on routing, taking school bus attendance, pick up and drop points, and determining missing students. Due to these reasons, I have great difficulty in following the school timing. I'm really worried, how will I solve these concerns?
Self-driving cars… some people think they are good and balance this argument out, some people think its crummy idea. There are three articles that talk about the self driving cars, and they are, “PRO/CON: Is it time to hop in self-driving cars?” By Tribune News Service it’s about the pro and con about self driving cars;” Google allows man who is blind to test its new driverless car” By Ashley Halsey III and Michael Laris. It is about how they allow a blind man having a self driving car; and “Caution light is still on for Tesla's Autopilot technology” By Scientific American, a part of a car that help the driver. Self driving cars should not be legalized in America.
I think that I should become a bus buddy because i’m a kind person and if someone was getting bullied I’d stand up for them. I show leadership because if someone was fooling around I’d tell them to stop. I’m almost always at school unless I’m sick. I want to help others because I don’t want people to get hurt or get in trouble. I will never abuse my power, I will only report when necessary. This is because, I am very responsible. If I am a bus buddy, I will feel very good about myself because I am helping our buses be a safe and friendly environment. I am never late to school. I don’t ever miss the bus. I do this by making sure I am outside, waiting for the bus at exactly 7:45 a.m each morning. I am a very reliable person. I always tell
Dear non-signalers, everyone has had a run in with you and you are the reason that people get road rage, other than slow drivers in the left lane, and you cause more accidents every year than drunk driving, distracted driving and aggressive driving.
Uber can be thought of as a marketplace unto itself in the analysis of demand and supply and elasticity.
So how did Uber get here? It all started when Anthony Levandowski and Travis Kalanick (CEO of Uber at that time) met on Ted Talk in 2012. In July oi 2015 Levandowski and
In today’s class, the most significant concept which caught my attention was the “free ridership” in international organizations. In fact, the issue is one which is very concerning as several countries in NATO have fallen short of fulfilling their commitment to the alliance which has weakened the capability of NATO. Also, Canada might soon be falling into the free rider category as we have not decided on what our commitment to UN peacekeeping missions would look like. (Note, I have studied bandwagoning, but not free ridership).
