My curiosity is insatiable. My mom claims that once I was a few months old, I was never satisfied unless I was completely engaged in learning. Not much has changed in the past 18 years as I have spent my life in the pursuit of knowledge. For me, learning has always been about achieving a greater understanding of the world (from the life of Elizabeth II to the neurobiology of junk food addiction) and using that understanding to try to find my place. I believe that UChicago’s philosophy about learning—which prioritizes learning how to think, challenging assumptions, and enriching the world with knowledge—aligns perfectly with my own.
UChicago’s ideology, like my own, is applied to panoply of disciplines. The Core would allow me to attain a broad knowledge base, while the flexibility of the curriculum would allow me to explore novel topics

UChicago’s pre-health programs—such as Clinical Excellence Scholars, internships, and health profession treks—would give me the opportunity to develop clinical skills, while research positions and programs like UChicago Careers in STEM would prepare me to be a researcher.
I currently attend The Gatton Academy, a small residential high school on a college campus. At Gatton, we are focused and driven, yet always willing to collaborate (especially the night before a computer science exam). My time at Gatton has also been filled with fun, from pancake parties to parachute games and even scavenger hunts. This combination of intense work and quirky fun is mirrored at UChicago, making it an ideal next home for me. I would love to be a part of the tight-knit House community and get involved in traditions like Scav, excursions, and selling “Where Fun Goes to Die” House t-shirts.

When I think of NYU happiness because it makes me know that students of different cultures and religions can come together as one culture within itself, as an African Muslim woman all you want is to feel like you're part of a community.That's what I love about NYU,I feel you can be with someone else that's not the same as who you are yet you're able to share the same passion or compatibilities with that person.Living in the city area makes it even better because there are vast amount of opportunities that you wouldn't get anywhere else. At NYU they embellish on who you are and how you can contribute to helping the world to become a better place united as one. When I went to the open house ,once I saw the building and atmosphere I could see myself at NYU Tisch. At Tisch I hope to perceive things differently. As a writer it brings me the best of excitement because all I ever wanted to do was write, imagine and act .It takes a lot for a school to be this diverse, social and educated rigorously with great academics and still make people feel like they are welcome as a community.
Students decide to pursue health careers in college, but it can be hard to know what is needed to achieve this goal. There are also a great variety of careers included in the health field and each job has different roles and requirements so it can be difficult to know which job you want to pursue. One important aspect of the UC Davis Pre-Health Conference is the large amount of information and resources provided to students in relation to the career they choose to pursue in health.
Most importantly, University of Wisconsin-Madison appeals to me for its diversity of ways to learn. I am intrigued by First-Year Interest Groups(FIGs), Service Learning, the math department and the UW-Madison Software Development Club. The First-Year Interest Groups encourage the exploration of common themes, which has become a course in our high school, called colloquy. In colloquy, we have to read lots of materials about a certain social issue, discuss the issue, and write an essay about it. The process of exploring things beyond the border of subjects has always excited me, and I really want to continue such explorations in college. Different from colloquy, however, the First-Year Interest Groups provide unique views on the themes as participants are from different cultures. There were some University of Chicago students who were taking summer classes and I often sat down with them for meals and had some of the most genuinely interesting and fascinating conversations. I noticed prominent, prevailing trends of UChicago students. Every single student that I interacted with possessed the resounding trait of passion in craft. Each student demonstrated a degree of drive, dedication, and determination within their passions that was envious and motivational. The passion that each Maroon had for their field of study was outstanding, I witnessed people who were not much older than myself wholly dedicate themselves to niche areas of academic inquiry. Furthermore, each Maroon kept a mind open to all ideas and theories, demonstrating a maturity far beyond their years. This environment of deep intellectual discourse was unlike any other college campus I have visited, so it propelled UChicago to the highest echelon of institutions. UChicago’s tightly knit community of scholars is an electrifying aspect for me. I love the thought of being submerged in the infinite pool of scholarly discussion where I will be constantly learning from my peers, where my personal corpus of knowledge will expand from just a causal conversation, and where my values and perceptions will continue to evolve. As it happens, it is the aspect of life that steers one's barely controllable passion of what you like doing or what others have done notably in the past. Learning is so crucial and extraordinary that we couldn't have sent the first man to the moon, or neither can Shakespeare put Macbeth or Midsummer Night's Dream down in a very unprecedented writing. When depicting learning, books may feature an adolescent sitting in a classroom listening to a teacher lecture for an entire school day, but in actuality, learning is a constant personal discovery through our environment and throughout our entire lives. Learners cannot have information thrown at them without context and personal investment, but rather they should be directed towards knowledge which will spark desire. Plato’s (trans. 1968) Republic and Margaret M. Clifford’s (1990) article “Students Need Challenge, Not Easy Success” both demonstrate this point, but Clifford takes it a step further to propose that all learners should take these leaps, not just the most intelligent individuals as Plato (trans. 1968) claims. Human beings can not learn by having information drilled into us, but rather we have to be willing to recognize and interpret the world around us without the risk of punishment or failure.

People believe learning is mainly related to education and academics. That’s not completely true. We learn unconsciously every day and process every task, like walking. For me, education has always been my top priority, but what I don’t comprehend is – why is it? Most people view attending school and studying is something mandatory, but I feel differently. Studying became a huge part of me. I love learning and the notion of gaining more knowledge. It could possibly be classified as my hobby. For example, I usually spend all my spare time, and even if it’s for one assignment, indulge myself for hours a day studying in my room. I believe education and gaining knowledge is a privilege and it’s one’s responsibility to act upon it. I truly never understood why learning and education was not being taken advantage of and as a learner, I believe learning can and should be valued more, such as a hobby, instead of a chore or conflict.

Within this quote he exemplifies the importance of learning and implies how people tend to lose the drive in their later years. It is extremely important that people continue growing and evolving in their education throughout their life. To be educated opens a whole new world of opportunities up. An education does not mean only going to school, taking tedious notes, stressing over tests and exams, and staying up late writing papers, but to get the entirety of the education, you must absorb it. Learning is an essential part of life. It is an ongoing process that starts before we are even born and stops the second we die. There are a variety of reasons why we learn, this may simply be our curiosity. We ask questions about a topic we are not certain about. By doing so, we acquire knowledge that is automatically sored in our brain.
