Arabs replaced the Roman system. They introduced the cultivation of sugar cane, rice, cotton and the palm tree. Arabs didn’t force conversion to Islam on people, but they did influence the region’s people through the teaching of science, medicine and astronomy.
The Umayyads ruled from 661-750 CE. When doing so, they created the first 14 caliphs. Once the Umayyads had control they began to conquer new lands. The empire spanned parts of three continents: Africa, Asia, and Europe in less than 100 years. When the Umayyads took power, the Empire’s eastern boundary extended into Persia and pushed the border further into Central Asia. The expansion began with hit and run raids attacking the cities of Bukhara and Smarkland- both major trade cities of the region located in modern Uzbekistan. Hit and run raids soon turned into organized campaigns for conquest which allowed them to control most of Central Asia by 700’s. By 710, they controlled North Africa from the Nile to the Iberian Peninsula. By 711, they moved North across the mediterranean Sea and into the Iberian Peninsula.
Ali’s close partisan constitutes the Shi’at Ali, along with the general of Islamic belief in Allah, Muhammad's message, and the Quran. The Shiites believe in the Imam as the true leader of faith and the veritable interpreter of the Quran. According to the Shia doctrine, the prophet shortly before he died, has appointed Ali as the leader of the community and initiated him into the esoteric aspects and the mysteries of faith and certain designated descendants, in turn, inherited this function. Also numerous adages and wise saying bear Ali’s name, the prophet claimed: “ I am the city of wisdom and Ali is its gates.” To the Shia, Ali is a saint, the friend of God, and the par excellence; thus the Shia have added these words to the generally pronounced

The Umayyads first established their official government in Damascus, Syria, and operated more as an empire than a religious community, The Umayyads first worked on the unionization of an Arab world by standardizing currency and language of learning (Arabic.) Their empire extended from Mecca to near Mid-Asia/Afghanistan, and included diversity of race and religion, Unfortunately, the Umayyads failed to govern in such a way that the citizenry was
Al-Andus consisted of several independent kingdoms. This is also one of the factors why the empire fell after eight hundred years. It is not until the Uymayyad makes itself the leading power which catapulted the Muslim empire further into Spain. Amir Aba al-Rahman is at the head of the empire. He created the Emirate of Cordoba and also brought together the kingdoms to rule as one. Muslim rule is viewed as the golden age in Spain because of its flourishing in architecture, art, and education. Not only did the Muslims do achievements but as well did the
What would the Arabian Peninsula be like before Muhammad, who introduced the Islamic religion? It was really hard for people to believe that God had spoken to Muhammad. What would people do without the Islamic religion? Would they be able to believe in God? Is it because of Muhammad that they now believe in God?
The Nation of Islam is one of the most recognizable symbols of an organized African American voice in the United States. Starting from a few followers in the Great Depression, this movement and religion eventually grew to include thousands. The Nation of Islam has been the source of much controversy and speculation from outside members. The group is no stranger to accusations regarding its beliefs and practices. I grew up and currently live in a small suburban town. Because of its size and the demographics of this area, there is not a Muslim culture or community nearby. However, I do live on the outskirts of a major city. That city is Philadelphia. Upon doing research, I came across a community called the Al-Aqsa Islamic Society. In addition, a friend of mine has a father who practices Islam and is very familiar with this community. Al-Aqsa Islamic Society has been established in Philadelphia since 1989 and has as its goals helping to maintain the Islamic identity, and protecting and sustaining the Islamic Community within Philadelphia. The Al-Aqsa Islamic Society is able to achieve these objectives through the many services that it offers to the Arab and Muslim communities all across the Greater Philadelphia area.
The Mughal dynasty was established by a man named Babur who ruled over the state of Hindustan (India). As a youth, Babur, a prince of the house of Timur, was unable to maintain his sovereignty over the small Central Asian state bequeathed to him by his father (Source?). Instead, he turned his attention to the southeast, where he occupied Kabul in 1504, and almost immediately embarked on his conquest of India (Source?). By 1527, Babur had defeated both the forces of the Lodi sultan and those of the Hindu confederacy (Source?). However, at the time of his death, in 1530, he had not yet transformed his territorial acquisitions into an empire (Source?). This task was left to his son Humayun, who lacked the military genius of his father and soon forfeited the Mughal foothold in India (Source?). Only through Persian military intervention did he manage to regain the capital cities of Agra and Delhi in 1555; however, Humayun 's son Akbar was credited with the real foundation of the Mughal Empire (Source?).

Sunnis compromise 85% of Muslims. Sunni Islam believes that the caliph ideally is the selected or elected successor of the prophet. He serves only as the political military leader of the community, not as prophet. Sunnis also believe that the early successes of Islam and the power of its rulers were signs of god’s guidance, rewards to a faithful community that were seen as historic validation of Muslim belief and claims.
