Unexpected Outcomes As time goes by and I get older it’s been impossible to forget a tragedy that happened three years ago. Without knowing, the vacations that I had most wished for turned out a nightmare. For many years my brothers and I begged our parents for some family vacations. Everything was always the same. Every morning we would wake up, my parents would get ready for work, and I got ready for school. It soon became a habit we never went out. One day we as a family made a promise. My dad agreed to take us on vacations if we got our grades up in school. My dad took a second job to keep his promise and so did we. My brothers and I brought our grades up. Eight months later we were off headed to Mexico. My dad decided to take us on vacations to Mexico to visit our grandparents. The trip was long but it was surely amazing. Finally we got time to spend time with our parents, because of their work we rarely saw them. After twenty hours of traveling we finally arrived. To our surprise my grandparents had arranged a welcome party. Even though we were really tired from traveling I was happy we had arrived. It was only three weeks but I was determined to have fun and enjoy every single one of those days. Day after day there was nothing else than family reunions. I saw some beautiful places and meet relatives that I didn’t now. It was a dream come true. It was December and Christmas was just around the corner. We had big plans to have a big Christmas party. One night some
When spring break began my parents gave me the opportunity to have 2 weeks of spring break, where I would spend the first week hanging out with my and fiends and the week they go back to school I go on a cruise. While I was on the cruise me and my family visited 4 different islands over the 8 day voyage. On the third day on the boat we visited the Dominican Republic, on the fifth day we visited St. Thomas, on the sixth day we visited Puerto )Rico, and on the seventh day we visited are final island Grand Turk.
While past Christmas gatherings were full of joy, this time bittersweet feelings hung heavy. Several relatives drove down from northern California, so I was able to meet family members whom I had either never met or had not seen in years. Seeing Grandmama weak in bed, straining to speak, wrenched my heart. However, I had the opportunity to spend time with my relatives throughout the evening. Despite difficulties, my family came together and celebrated what mattered with Grandmama for the last time.
It was a beautiful, sunny day in Puerto Rico where my family and I were taking a vacation that spring. As I lay on my dad’s colorful bed in the small pink villa on the water, I find it hard to enjoy the view that comes from the balcony and the salty smell of the light blue ocean. The villa resides on a rocky cliff where the rippling ocean waves smash onto the rocks below. The waves, which usually relax me, are insignificant. I see colorful houses that run along the water for miles just like ours. In the corner of my eye I see the infinity pool that looks out onto the crystal clear water. Something else is on my mind. Something not even the alluring scenery could take my mind off of-death. One month earlier, I lost my mom to a vicious disease called cancer. Its evilness left my family and I broken and sick at heart. When I look back now to that vacation, I think nothing other than sadness and mourning. Maybe it was too soon to take a vacation, I thought. My dad walks into his room and sits next to me on his bed.
This year’s family vacation was one for the books. With my aunt living in Tennessee, we do not get together as often as we would like so my family decided to go to Nashville, Tennessee. When we started our trip, it was 6 a.m. and it was nothing short of fun and laughter along the way. Never having been to Tennessee before, I figured I’d enjoy the eight-hour ride of sight-seeing and laughter with my family. When we were a few miles into the trip, the mountains of Georgia were breathtaking. While I was enjoying the scenery, another thing that I found enjoyable about this trip was the conversation that I had with my family. We went on talking about life in general, all the struggles, and childhood memories that we had. We even talked about years
the next year. we thought that it wouldn’t be a reality. It was just a dream. I and mom , we had
My favorite vacation, so far, is one I went on in September 2015 with my friends Alissa and Jaidah. We all share fandom interests. On the weekend of September 19, my brother went away to spend his birthday with my dad. My mom shook me awake and informed me I could bring two friends along to a room in the Dells that we would be occupying. Almost immediately I thought of the duo. I ran downstairs and texted both of them while packing a bag. They texted back not too long after, and I told them my mom and I would pick them up anywhere from 10-11 that Saturday morning. We picked up Alissa and she tried to direct us to Jaidah’s house, but she wasn’t thorough with her
I was watching TV at home like any other day when my phone rang. It was my friend calling to ask me if I wanted to go on a vacation to Dog Island. My mom said” I can go if I want to”, so I said” yes”. It was still a while before we left but, my mom made me pack anyway. I knew it would be one the best weeks ever.
In the summer of June 2014,I woke up at 4:30 Thursday morning and got ready, packed our suit cases in the trunk of my car. Then I woke up my 4 daughters and they got ready really quick. Funny how for school they drag to get up from their bed and get dressed. But that day they didn't even hesitate to get up because they knew we were on vacation. Me and my girls were really excited to take our first road trip to the beautiful beach of South Padre Island . Of course it is gonna be a long drive but we were excited because we will be sight seeing and singing along to the radio. My family lives about 35 minutes from the beach, in a little town not to far. So when we all got in the car ,I drove to a gas station to fill up my car with gas for our trip and to grab a strong cup of coffee with hazelnut creamers.
Have you ever taken the best trip ever? Well one day my parents decided to buy a trailer so then we could go on trips more often and not have to worry about forgetting something since it’s all there we all, were so excited. After we had gotten it My Mom and Dad told us we were going to go on a trip. My eldest sister Maddie was engaged and she wanted us to see what dress she picked, they said while we are on the road mine as well go to Lego land and that’s when the story begins. My family and I left on June 29, 2017, at 4:30 pm after my dad got off of work. We were on the road for seven hours, because of the trailer it slowed us down. We got to Utah around 11:30ish and went to McDonald's to eat. We had to drive to the closest Walmart because
It was so close to Christmas I could almost smell the steaming marshmallow filled hot cocoa in the air. After we had been at my aunt's house all day it was finally time to open one present! “ Go pick out your present but remember it can only be from a relative” said my mom. I walked over to the Christmas tree which was in the corner near the rusty yellow cabinet. I admired our Christmas tree decorated in our new shiny ornaments, and our old memory-filled ornaments. I pick the one with reindeer wrapping and huge red bow. “ To Spencer, From The Ayers” it reads. I gently tear the wrapping paper from the square looking box. “ Could you go any slower” said my dad. I rip open the present a little quicker. I finally unravel the grey sparkely tissue
The only sound that filled my ears was my keyboard clicking as my fingers raced across it. I had been procrastinating from finishing this assignment all evening, but I knew I needed to get it done. The burning sunset was shining through the windows as I was finishing up. It was a peaceful silence, until I heard the soft whispers of my parents that ignited my sense of curiosity. I was concentrating hard; doing my best trying to make out the hushed words that were being spoken.
There comes a time in someone’s life when certain events don’t turn out the way they expect them to. This is the story about a time in my life that I did not anticipate happening.
After you choose your destination the next thing you must do is reserve your airfare and hotel. This may be tough because there are many websites and travel agents that you can go through. I have found that it is cheaper and easier to go through Expedia.com. You can book your hotel and flight all together and pay one low price. I have also found that flying with Southwest Airlines is very cheap and they have many one way stops all across the country and for a cheap hotel that is very nice I recommend the Extended Stay America.
Spending quality time with family is one of my favorite childhood memories, whether it was spending time outdoors, playing ping pong, or watching a movie. My most meaningful family memory came from our vacation to Colorado back in 2004; yes, 2004. Although I don’t remember all of the events that transpired, I’m able to recall most of the memorable events that took place. It was a cool, misty morning in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, and I could distinctly hear the unmistakable elk calls that echoed through the mountains. The breeze gently scraped my face as I got into the car to begin the first day of our family vacation in Colorado. I could hear the car tires gently humming on the road during this cool, foggy, Colorado morning. As I looked past the lanky pine trees, glistening drops of dew formed on the tall grass, dancing with the wind. As we moved further down the road, I could see the tip of the sun barely begin to peek over the steep, snowy mountain peaks; however, the sun was soon covered by the misty Colorado clouds. This was it: our family vacation!
Most people that have gone to Orlando for holidays, ended with good memories. I’m not the exception. The resorts, the parks, and the restaurant make Orlando the best place to enjoy for the whole family. My last holiday with my nephew in The Wall Disney World Resort was the best time of our life for my family and me.
