Dog Island Research Paper

In the city of Muscatine, Iowa there is a debate going on. A debate on whether a dog park spanning over one acre of land should be built or not. It is very important for dogs to run and play for mutiple reasons. Resons such as to release all that extra energy they have aslo, excercise is shown to lower bad behavior in dogs, but this dog park is not a good idea.

Having a dog park in my neighborhood would not only improve the value of the property, it would improve the quality of life for all who use them. I live in an area where the majority of people who live there are pet owners. So the idea of building a dog park will most likely be favorable amongst them. There are more positive reasons to build a dog park than there are negative.

We crossed a huge bridge that took us to Anna Maria Island. We arrived at the house at midnight.The house had 4 rooms, 3 ½ baths, a big swimming pool with a hot tub, and was right by the ocean.My aunt, uncle, and my two cousins were unpacking all the food when we arrived. My sister and I went straight up to our room, there were two twin sized beds, and a closet. We unloaded and went to bed at 1 in the morning.

We lived in a small house on a Navy base on the east side of the island in a city called Ceiba. All of the houses were nearly identical, all of them small, grey and made of concrete to protect against hurricanes. There was a park in my backyard that all the kids from the neighborhood would come to play at, but even better for me, there was a mysterious patch of woods behind that park. I would spend most of my days there walking along the trail and looking for interesting flowers, eat wild bananas straight from the tree, and sometimes finding iguana eggs.

When spring break began my parents gave me the opportunity to have 2 weeks of spring break, where I would spend the first week hanging out with my and fiends and the week they go back to school I go on a cruise. While I was on the cruise me and my family visited 4 different islands over the 8 day voyage. On the third day on the boat we visited the Dominican Republic, on the fifth day we visited St. Thomas, on the sixth day we visited Puerto )Rico, and on the seventh day we visited are final island Grand Turk.

When it was midnight, we loaded the car and drove through Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama. We stopped at a few places to grab food or gas. At the beginning of the day my mom was going to surprise us by bringing us rock climbing. I was with my sisters, and we were on the trampoline. Our mom walks out onto the deck and says “Do any of you want to go rock climbing.”, and we all said “YES”. We jumped in the car and we drove down to St. Cloud State University.

I awoke on a cool summer morning, at first I wasn't completely there but then, a chill of excitement ran down my spine as I realized my family was going camping today. I ran down stairs past the mountains of camping supplies and clothes to talk to my parents in the kitchen. They said we were leaving soon and that I should start packing all of the supplies into our trusty old Ford Expedition. After about 20 minutes of packing our SUV to the brim with all of the things we would need to survive in the wilderness for a few days, we said goodbye to our three cats and headed for Steelville Missouri.

I believe that we as a state should we deside if that's a good idea or not. I think this way becuase there are many perspectives that you have to take in. You have to know how many people are in you town. You also have to know if you have enough space for a dog park.

Ah, a day at the ball park. Nothing more American than going to a baseball game, drinking a beer and eating a hot dog. Guess where that tradition started? Detroit, baby. Well, Livonia to be more specific, but it was popularized at Detroit Tiger Stadium in the 50’s. A meat-packing company called Hygrade Food Products won a competition in 1959 to be the hot dog supplier for the team. They started a contest at the company for the name for the hot dogs. Mary Ann Kurk, one of Hygrade Food Products sales people at the time, won the contest with the name “Ball Park Franks”. So then next time you eat a ball park frank at a game, know that Detroit ha influenced on one of the most iconic sports foods in America.

I is for In South Carolina. Last summer me and my family went on vacation to myrtle South Carolina. It was a lot of fun we for to see the ocean for the second time. It took us 19 hours to get there. We stopped at some cool places on the way there. One place we stopped at was a cave it was a 2 mile walk for there through the cave and back. Once we got to Myrtle beach we took some of our stuff Into the hotel. Then my mom, brother, dad and got our passes to go out on the pier. We first went out onto the pier and then we went down to the ocean. We spent all day there and then we ate at the restaurant on the pier entrance.

In a residential area, there typically isnt much room for activity. Crowded living spaces and not much greenary. If you're a dog owner, you would think you would go ahead and knock places like that off of your house hunting list. Dogs do need space to run and play, but building a dog park in a smaller area doesn't seem too ideal.
