Valedictorian Address Students, administration, staff, family, and friends, welcome to the commencement for the Class of 2017, Hanover High School’s 125th commencement. Graduation is an exciting time... both an ending and a beginning filled with warm memories of the past, and immense dreams for the future. Should we reminisce on the past four years, or instead focus on the next stage in this journey called life? We’ve been impatiently waiting for this day for many years, and now, we just want to hit pause. We want to slow it down, and enjoy the last fleeting moments before we graduate. Our lives will be forever altered after we toss our caps into the air. Before fervently throwing our caps into the air though, we can not overlook or forget the true dimensions of being graduates, the Class of 2017. The Oxford Dictionary defines a graduate as “a person who has successfully completed a course of study or training”. Well, in our case, this certainly holds truth...but this only touches the surface of our true potential and …show more content…
Our athletes have worked tirelessly and have contributed to the success of our teams, some even receiving recognition at the state level. Working diligently in the classroom, we have risen to new heights and have already achieved so many of our goals and dreams. In addition, not only have we excelled on the stage, field, and in the classroom, but we have also given back to the school and community while harnessing our leadership potential through multifarious organizations such as Key Club, Student Council, National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, and Link Crew. Our students have participated in many prestigious programs as well, including Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, Future Leaders of York, and Rotary Youth of the
Our school has and will continue to have many great achievers and leaders! We have been filled with a great amount of knowledge and potential. Separately we can move a rock but together we can move mountains. We all did our best and gave outstanding accomplishments to this school. Nevertheless, whether our involvement was by trophies, by knowledge, or even just being a
Dear administrators, teachers, parents, beloved friends, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 8th grade graduation. It’s a pleasure to be standing in front of you today on this beautiful day to express the happiness we all feel.
At the end of ninth grade, I was given an opportunity I could not refuse to become an ambassador in the Peer Leadership Program at North Warren Regional. Peer Leadership gives its members, including myself the opportunity to be role models of the younger students. Over the years I’ve given countless seventh graders assistance with their lockers and have guided them through their schedule to ease any
Graduation has many meanings for it; however one way to look at graduation would be the transition from youth to maturity. Graduation in another point of view could be the transition from one chapter of someone’s life to another. Most people would consider their childhood the best time of their lives. Some could also recall a part of their life that was a new chapter for them, or that it changed their life in one way or another. The journey from youth to maturity however, is ruthless, inconsistent, and can be a good time for some; others, not so much. Poems such as “To an Athlete Dying Young,” or “An Ex-Basketball Player” and award winning movies like “Holes” and “High School Musical: Senior Year” all relate to the celebration called graduation
It was May 25, 2018 at 7:47 in a steaming hot gymnasium when the name Anthony Joseph Sansalone was getting called from the loud speaker, the sixth to last person to receive their diploma I begun shaking the hands of all the board members and everything that I had known from the last 13 years at the same school was over and a new chapter of my life was stating to begin. A few seconds after receiving my diploma the Class President guided us to changing of our tassels from right to left then commencement was over and I was walking out with my future roommate at BGSU, Vincent Zhang, we looked at each other knowing that our high school career was descending and our college careers were lifting off together. High school was tuff for me due to the fact that I have know what I wanted to do since I was a freshman, I want to become an animator and work for an Academy Award winning company such as
After 13 years, it’s all come to an end. No more assignments, no more tests, no more uniform, no more school. To the majority of you, this fact probably still hasn’t really hit home yet, and to be honest, I don’t think that I’ve fully grasped this fact either. That soon, we will be stepping out of the relative safety of TSS and entering into a harsh, and unforgiving new world. But as we -the graduating class of 2016- step out into this new world, it is not as though TSS has not prepared us for this day.
Graduation day, we made it. Where do we go from here? The answer to that question is just as different as the students who are standing before me. Some of us are leaving Itt-Tech, some of us will return for the bachelor’s degree. As for me, I have no idea what is next. But; I know one thing for certain and two things for sure, I’ll be a better person when I get there than I am today. I have learned a few of life’s most critical lessons during my venture at Itt-tech.
As we gather here today, first and foremost I would like to congratulate each and every one of you on your accomplishments and achievements. I speak on behalf of myself and many others with a sense of gratitude and recognition; your consistent efforts to push towards greatness allows us all to take a great amount of pride in this community. You all have contributed pieces of the puzzle, each unique and required to make the finished product that we see here today. Each and every student here has been outstanding in every aspect of performance, and more importantly, abiding by the Golden Rule and treating every person how you would like to be treated. Shifting focus from the past that is behind, to the future that is upon us; let us not forget
Whew, finally done with eight semesters of blood, sweat, and tears. Truly, these last four years of my life have been agonizing and grueling, however they also have been completely worth all of the pain that I have experienced. Now, looking back at my experiences of the past four years I realize how much I have learned, and also how much I have missed out on and wished I could have done. So, myself, I would encourage you to always remember the lessons that I have learned here in college and the value of my education.
Good evening, colleagues, family, friends, staff, and my fellow graduates. It is an honor for me to speak on the behalf of those in my graduating class this evening. This evening we will be recognized for our months and years of hard work, dedication, and passion for what we do. Thank you to our friends and family for their unending support and to the professors and staff here at Walden University for their knowledge, passion, and motivation throughout our time here.
Hello class of 2017 I am honored that I have been chosen to give you all this speech. Id Like to welcome the staff, teachers, parents, and last but not least the students aka the class of 2017. Many of us have been on this rode together, many have left and many have joined but it really doesn’t matter who left and joined what matters is this moment in time all of us coming together and receiving this diploma what all these thirteen years of hard work has finally paid off but this is just the beginning.
Graduate Colton Conley said the hard work he put forth in school made today worthwhile.
Graduation is an exciting time in a person’s life, especially a high school graduation. When I think of family and friends gathering together to celebrate a joyous occasion, I feel I accomplished my strongest goal. It never occurred to me that graduation would be the end of my youth and the start of adulthood. Graduating from high school was an influential event that gave me an altered outlook on my existence. Life before graduation, preparing for graduation day, and commencement day overwhelmed me for reality.
What is graduation? Some people would say that it's proof of the freedom we will soon experience. Some say that it's the end of the best years of our lives. Some would say that it's when we're forced to grow up and become adults. Some would say that it's just another day, no different than any other day, other than the scrolls, the funny outfits and the clapping. Some go into it silent, awaiting their chance to be recognized for their victory dance. Some use stupid comparisons to describe it by saying that it's like the opening of a new door or that it's like taking another step on the never-ending ladder of life. Some praise it, some dread it. Everyone has a different opinion, but there's one thing that we all agree on. There's one
There are so many things to say to you. I feel so privileged to get to speak to everyone, and there is so much to say. We have come to this point in our lives that many have come to before us. I almost feel like I have done it already, having watched people grow up and graduate before. But now today it is our turn to really do it. To walk this aisle, to sit in the seats, and to play with these tassels.
