I have an interest of being at a school where I want to be a vet tech. I would like to learn more about animals than I am now at the career center being in a animal care class. That would make my application complete trying to get into a school with vet tech classes. I would like to learn how to take care of sick animals and how the vet tech does x rays and all kinds of experience that I would like to see because i’m not getting that kind of experience at the medina county career center. Or to be a vet tech assistant because I love working with animals and it’s a type of career field I would really enjoy. The work environment in Vet Tech is stressful. In a Vet clinic, illnesses and injuries are more common in Vet Tech. One has to be able to handle being kicked, bitten, scratched, etc when holding, cleaning, or restraining an animal. Try to avoid getting injuries while working in a Vet. Watch for body language in an animal and have proper restraint techniques. To avoid illnesses, the Vet Tech should follow safety procedures. Well, he veterinarian medical profession has thousands of ethical concerns in today’s world and like every profession there are some that stand out and some that affect more people than you would actually think. Digging deep to reveal the ethical concerns to people conveniently euthanasing animals and putting growth hormones in cows just to produce enough food for today’s society can be a real awakening.
As a child, everyone dreams of what that they want to become in world. Some want to grow up to be doctors, garage drivers, teachers and dancers. My dream has not always been clear to me; I wanted to be a neonatal nurse while I was in high school. I took courses throughout high school, and discovered that nursing was not God’s plan was for me. I did not find out that animal care was what I was truly passionate about until the days after my dog got ran over. Wrapping her bandages, cleaning her wounds and giving her medicine brought to me such joy that I have never felt before. Becoming a veterinarian was not what I planned, but it is was what I become passionate about.

Throughout my life, I have been through many different things. I have been through struggles and successes. I have been through multiple setbacks and breakthroughs. There is one specific setback, however that is very important to me that I overcame. It was not easy, but I finally did it. This setback took place during the time between when I entered high school and the end of my sophomore year.

There was also scrapings from one of the dogs that had many tapeworm eggs. It was extremely intriguing seeing all those eggs under the microscope we found out that it was also contagious to humans. Scabies looked like an animal with little legs under the microscope. They are also found around the dog’s body. I was allowed to see the instruments that were going to be used in surgery. They were all in order and prepared neatly to make sure that the veterinarian is able to conduct the surgery without any interference or mistakes within the procedure. I thought it

This discussion leaded us to deciding to dedicate our service-learning project to helping Veterans and how we could help them. We establish a connection with VET HOUSE, this connection was established though Johnnie Mapples who is a veteran and was associated with VET HOUSE.
