Veterinary Peet Personal Statement

During my second full week with Dr. Carpenter, I experienced many different situations. Examples from this past week are pregnancy checks, PC dart, embryo implantation, blood transfusion, and upon many others. All of these situations showed me that there depending upon the stage the animal is at in its life depends upon what is the most likely scenario a veterinarian will have to perform or examine on the animal. Everything a veterinarian does has such critical importance due to most human beings being depended upon animals and the byproducts they make after death or during their lives. That is the reason veterinarians have such strict regulations and can only use certain medications due to possible affects on humans such as cancer or disease.

A British actress named Hannah Murray once said, “I really loved animals when I was little - my friend and I had an imaginary vet 's office; we would mime doing surgery on animals. We treated more injuries than illnesses - fixing with a baby bear with a broken leg, removing a tumor. Of course, our surgeries would take about five seconds; that 's how good we were.” As far back as one girl can remember, she always had a pet of some kind. She currently has a pet dog, and she became sick, and would have seizures. When her mom and took her to the Vet’s office, she remembers how the doctor saved her dog’s life and how grateful she and her mother were to not lose a member of our family. The career of a veterinarian is a rewarding career, because one has the opportunity to care for beings who can’t for themselves. The research will describe the career of a veterinarian, what is required to become successful, and the impact this career has on society.

Although this statement is completely true, the treatment of dogs is not all that vets do. Cats, cows, parrots, and horses are just a few of the many other animals that veterinarians help. As you could probably guess, the profession of being a vet requires many years of education, being that the job requires you to have a good background knowledge of issues that animals may have. In this essay, I’m going to walk you through my educational path to accomplish my goal of becoming a Veterinarian.

One major part of all peoples’ lives is health care, without it society would have no way of staying healthy and happy, and people would also have no way of treatment in case of an emergency. This also applies to all the pets’ lives are shared with. A certain profession is also needed to provide this care service for all of the animals. The people responsible for this service are Veterinarians. There is a lot to learn about the career of a veterinarian, including all of the schooling required, what a vet does, all of the advantages as well as the disadvantages, and the future outlook for this career.

“ My first instinct when I see an animal is to say “Hello.” My first instinct when I see a person is to avoid eye contact and hope they will just go away.” I have always wanted to help animals since I was five. I felt that animals can’t help themselves and I could help. The career of a veterinary technician is a gross and rewarding, because of all the different experiences that one will receive on an everyday basis. The research will describe the career of veterinary technician, what is required to become a successful veterinary technician, and the impacts this career has on today 's society.

From a very young, becoming a veterinarian has been a dream of mine. The love of animals coupled with the thought of helping those animals through suffering and having the opportunity to actually save one's life has been a motivator for the future. A veterinarian changes an animal’s life in more ways than one. They care for the health of animals. Veterinarians are also able to diagnose, treat, and research medical conditions and diseases of not just pets but also livestock and wildlife ("Summary" U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). It goes beyond the annual vaccinations.

The practicality and variability associated with this profession will be intellectually challenging. However, I enjoy and am driven by challenging problems. Growing up, I noticed how our pets truly enhance our lives. They are an antidote for our loneliness, enrich our joys, and teach us about loyalty and love. Eventually, I became attracted towards medicine and animals. It wasn’t just because I’m interested in the health and welfare of animals, it was also able because I communicate well with people.

I have also had a small amount of Equine husbandry and surgery assistant as well at Dr. Wendell Baker’s veterinary clinic, most of my experience surgery wise were several castrations, teeth floating, and restraining for x-rays. I have also had a great array of experiences while currently shadowing at the Cy-Fair Animal Hospital with Dr. Diarra Blue and Dr. Michael Lavigne in regards to small animal medicine. I have been exposed to so many situations and learned a very good amount of knowledge about veterinary medicine in general. Honestly I believe that everyone should contribute to society by doing what they love to do. I can honestly say that having a career as a veterinarian will allow me to serve society in the most effective way possible I want to help people by making sure their animals are one-hundred percent healthy, or help society with food safety by making sure livestock are safe and healthy for human consumption of those animals and their respective byproducts, or maybe be a part of maintaining and monitoring the health of certain wildlife for

The doctors and technicians have taught me so much about working in an animal hospital and I have been given so many opportunities that I would have never gotten before. Over the years I have been continuously trained and now I assist the doctors in surgeries, administer medicine and vaccinations and fluids, and provide post-surgical care to the animals. In the years that I have worked there I have logged over 1,000 clinical hours, which is way over the required amount to be admitted into many veterinary schools. I have been able to see first-hand how great of an impact this field of study makes on an animal’s life and well-being. These experiences have opened my eyes on the importance of helping these creatures because they were not given a voice of their own.

When I think of veterinary medicine I think of an essential part of being a responsible pet owner. Veterinary medicine, much like human medicine, is necessary for the well being of not only us but our companions as well. In the case of zoonotic disease, early detection is key to ensure that the other members of the household don't fall ill. Veterinary professionals have the potential to have a highly rewarding career by improving the lives of pets and the people that love them. Veterinary facilities see dozens of patients a day of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. Whether it be for simple routine checkups in a veterinary general practice clinic or saving a severely injured non-human member of the family at the emergency clinic, the entire veterinary team is essential to a smooth running facility. Doctors can tell what is wrong with your pet and prescribe treatment and medicine to make them feel better. Veterinary Technicians should expect to work long hours, associate with animals, and communicate with owners and staff. Clinics and veterinary hospitals are typically open 24/7, therefore technicians are expected to work weekends, holidays and evenings. Privileged to provide health and surgical services to small animals as a certified veterinary technician for most of the last 25 years, I have deep care and compassion for both the animals and their owners, and desire to provide them all the best care. Numerous people I meet want to share about their pets and their healthcare needs and I find myself connecting with people from a wide variety of backgrounds. During my time as an intern at the Ridgefield Animal Hospital, I was given the opportunity to gain hands-on experience behind the scenes in an animal clinic.
