The Volleyball Court in the O’Connell Center is a sacred space. This venue is located in Gainesville, Florida on the University of Florida Campus. This space is also known to some as the, “O’Dome.” It serves as the home court for the Women’s Volleyball Team. Surrounding the court, the venue fills with thousands of people eager to watch the home volleyball matches. The crowd is exhilarating and encouraging. The Florida Gators have the best fans in the world. This space is well-lit, large, and air-conditioned. This is a very sacred space to me as a student-athlete. We work hard all year long to perform on this court. This court represents the competition, teamwork, friendship, and hard-work from my teammates and myself. It is a sacred place
The ball court was leveled out and had rock walls holding back dirt. The walls were also built from red flat-like rocks and mortar, similar to the other surrounding buildings. There is also a natural blow hole of to the north east of the structure. This blow hole was is from underground tunnels created when the volcano exploded. Today you can still be privileged to this magnificent event. The blow whole either blows or sucks depending on the pressure within the underground
The brightly lit court contrasted with the darkness of the huge cavern with its freezer-like biting cold air which encompassed all areas of the Shadow Hill’s gym. Every one who was attending this event was swept up with anticipation waiting for this match to start. Lost in my thoughts, the shrill of a single whistle reminded me why I was there. This was one of the most important and competitive games in the low desert. Shadow Hills High School’s volleyball team was scheduled to play Xavier College Prep’s volleyball team tonight. The Shadow Hills team-I know most of the players-contains a lot of skilled players, as does the Xavier Prep team. Xavier Prep has more funding for sports programs, allowing them to spend more money on the
The Mesoamerican ball game, which was also known as the Pok-a-Tok game was often played in small ball courts. The main reason for the ball courts to be small was because the size of the court would help make the game more fast paced. However, archeologists have found ball courts larger in size, one example of these bigger courts is the big ball court in Chichenitza, which is almost as big as a modern football field. In addition, when you observe the ball court you can see that the walls are sloped inward. Moreover almost at the top of the walls there are stone rings in which the purpose for them was for the players to pass the ball through it. The arena’s shape is similar to that of an “I” letter and it also has high platforms on the sides of the court. This

The ball is right above me on its way down just about hitting me in the face
From being just a room with a basket nailed to the wall now there’s basketball courts in huge
“Why do you pay so much for club volleyball?” To me, it’s not just another game and it’s not just 6 girls on a court. There is no better emotion than drilling someone in the face in a championship match, or the adrenaline rush of a 6’4 female swinging for your face and actually, it’s a perfect pass. After reading this essay, I hope you can acknowledge what I intend to “pay” for and what I gain as a student athlete from these experiences.
The sporting facilities are epic. There is every field and court you can think of. On any given day you can play every sport known to man. They even have a channel on ESPN showing their games around the clock.
This would be our first tournament this season for volleyball, and it just had, to be at Marshall! We started out by running into the high school, trying not to slip because it was pouring rain. With our hair drenched like a sponge, we walked into a whole new world. Everyone there already had their jerseys on and practicing. They looked ready! We walked into the cafeteria to put our stuff down, and got down straight to business warming up, and practicing.
So many places to sit the top of the bleachers or the bottom way to side or right in the middle everybody has there own preference. The lights are shining bright down on to the court. They start to hurt your eyes if you look at them too much, it's like trying to look at the sun. The banners on the wall of every team in our conference just pop out against the solid white wall.
When i get on the basketball court, I get into the gym, i take deep breaths and let out all the negative vibes out, because on the court is one place where i feel perfectly content and have good vibes on. The basketball court where i feel comfortable with myself because it’s a sport i love to play and have been playing sense i was 5 years old.
The floor was a reddish orange tile that was very slick and hard to run on. The walls were a tannish tin that was not very soft when you ran into it. It had bleachers on both sides of the basketball court. It was a very small basketball court. The bleachers behind the benches for the basketball team were very small, they were for the the visitors.

As we skid around the unknown gravel road, surrounded with bushes and seldom road signs, in the middle of Suwanee Georgia, I continue to believe that we are lost. Finally, after turning a hidden corner our female figure GPS says in a monotone voice, “you have arrived at your destination, your route guidance is now finished.” Before my eyes is one of the largest sports complexes I have ever seen in my entire life which is surrounded by people buzzing like bees into a bee hive. My mother and I quickly swing the bulky suburban into the first spot we can find, and hurry our way into the gym. Entering the door is a challenge because of the large crowd, but what could I expect when there are currently seventeen courts of games being played simultaneously. I trudge my way through the crowd, along with my heavy basketball bags full of gear, to my destination of Court 8. Swiftly lacing up my shoes and tucking in my jersey, I finally stand up to get a
