Being a WEB leader means a lot to me. It means teamwork, friendship, leadership, responsibility, and hard work. I feel that I have these attributes and I can work with others to make next year a fun one. Ever since I was seven, I was a dancer. Teamwork values were strongly instilled in me. I naturally became the leader of the team, helping everyone when needed and leading classes to help make my team strong. To do this, I need everyone to work together as one. Along the way, we became a tight group and we are a team like no other. WEB does the same thing. The leaders are always working hard for what they do, helping each other out and forming strong friendships along the way. Through dance, I also became more
Every group, team, or organization has a leader. That leader has to have certain qualities to be well respected and followed by his or her following. Not only does the leader have qualities and responsibilities to maintain but also the group’s members. Both the leader and individuals in the group must have respect, fear, and honesty among each other to be a productive group.
Team work is needed in order to succeed. It is said in the guard world that “you are only as strongest as your weakest link” and I couldn’t agree more. That gave me the inspiration to help others when they were struggling as a leader.
As a secretary for the Turlock FFA chapter, I consider myself a leader. I have a taken a leadership position that has expanded my knowledge of how a leader should be and how to take responsibility. I have influenced other members from my school to participate in events and attend meetings. I have shown them what I learned and how I applied it to my everyday life. I also learned that I can improve and better myself from trying an experience that would take me out of my comfort zone. It was a little challenging adapting and keeping up with the events and
Congratulations on becoming a WEB leader. You will greatly impact the lives of Doty Middle School’s new 6th graders. We can thank Mrs. Keen and Mr. Dodge for advising this program and showing us how to connect with our WEB kids. Being a WEB Leader takes a lot of responsibility, leadership and time outside of school. There is a lot of advice I can give to prepare you to lead new Knights to having great year.
In many aspects of life, it is essential that you work with other individuals as a team. You can work in a team whether it is school, work, or your personal life. This year I started working for Inner City Education Foundation public charter schools, specifically ICEF Inglewood Elementary Academy. The school has approximately 40 staff members that were all placed together by the director of the school. There are multiple classifications at my job such as instructional assistants, teachers, office staff, intervention specialists, operations, and janitors, but we all operate as one unit. Through the five stages of team development, our team developed and continues to develop into a successful team.
Leadership is a crucial quality in both academic and corporate settings. The leader acts as an anchor of the team. He sets direction, builds an inspiring vision, and monitors the work process. Leadership can be built since young ages, which often started in an academic environment. Every group project demands a leader to help smooth out the activity, which include my ENGL 202D group project. Everyone in the team designates Stefan Horgas to be the team’s leader because he is a part of the Ice Lions club and has a deep knowledge in ice hockey field. Stefan perfectly performs his role as a leader. He not only creates and sends out work documents, but also verifies and answers any club’s related questions. His actions made the team operate efficiently
Leadership is being able to guide other students into being the best they can be. I am a leader who is always positive and cheering others on to achieve their goals. At my school, I have a position as the Vice President of Academics in National Honors Society. Since I have obtained this position, I encourage other students in this group to participate in service projects which is where one volunteers to help out the community in some aspect. These volunteering opportunities are good thing to do because it builds character and it is always fun helping others out. As a leader, I bring new ideas to the table on where we should help out in the community and anything that we could do in school that would fun and helpful. Along with participating in National Honors Society at my school, I am also involved in our Student Government Association. Although I do not have a leadership position in this club, I still engage in the activities that we do. For the past two years, I have gone to an annual meeting for leadership where multiple schools attend. At this meeting there are fun activities where you learn more about leadership and how to be a good leader. As a leader, these meetings help because it is always good to learn new
Over the years, more leadership opportunities have opened up in different ways. The online world, in particular, has definitely taken shape in building relationships and teams of various degrees. Becoming a moderator of an internet message board called Lake Valor, where individuals converse on different topics such as video games, music, etc, has given me a lot of shared experiences and memories with tens of people globally. Although it may not seem all that important, I have been able to meet many different individuals and be able to contribute to our small community. Being on Lake Valor has helped me develop leadership skills to ensure that everyone is honest with one another and able to revel in the community safely.
Being on a team and working with others plants the seed to become a leader
The next year I was the team captain and I learned what it meant to be a leader. In doing so, I found my place on the team and in my world. I found the courage to stand up for team members and for all people who were excluded, different, or bullied. I led by example, “work hard, show kindness, stay supportive, accept others, be modest.”
A leader should not hold all the power of leadership to themselves, but give it away to the team, because that is the only way to empower them. A good leader always take the blame, but never takes the credit, he gives that to the team. A team should be working together to achieve the goal while being united, like a family.
The leader said: ‘I do not see myself as a boss, I see the team as my co-worker, we all joining the team together to go to the same goal. I think it is important
As a leader, I feel that working in a group or team is a must to see progress within the company. In order to see progress within the company, working together as a team is very important. When the employees see the leader working with as a team, they feel more motivated to work. They feel equally as important as the leader. By enhancing this equality, a team will create a concept that suits the diverse needs of the
The group assessment in this unit put together four motivated members that wanted to create quality work. Interestingly, it also included for the first time, in my many team assessments, an additional strong-minded member that wished to lead the group. Sousa & van Dierendonck (2015, p. 15) propose, that sharing leadership duties requires humility from the group leaders to allow others to take responsibility for the task whilst remaining willing to step in and lead when needed. DuBrin (2016, p.27) further states that good team members have the courage to challenge the direction the task is taking and therefore showing leadership within the group. This was an important learning activity for myself as I moved from initial apprehension of joint leadership, to increasingly appreciating the strengths of other team members and the value this added.
The team leaders place considerable emphasis on team building and team work then evaluates their own performance on the basis of how well they have developed the team. They share the responsibility and work load which creates more ease in decision making and quick actions. They believe in democratic style of leadership where the team members give their opinions and suggestions and influence the decisions. Profits, credits and even losses are shared. No one is given the responsibility or credit for good or bad doings, but the entire team shares it equally. A team leader therefore, believes that the whole is greater than sum of parts of it. For example, Bill Clinton, Quid-e Azam, Mahatma Gandhi, etc
