Being a leader is an important position to fulfill because not everyone carries leadership qualities. In order to become a good leader, this person must obtain specific qualities which should come to them naturally. However every good leader still needs to work on their qualities to become an even greater leader which may require a long time of work. Being a good leader can be hard because not everyone is going to agree with the decisions being made. Every good leader should have certain qualities that will help them succeed in every situation. A good leader should qualities such as being passionate and motivated in everything they do, to have patience when working with others, and to be fearless.
I have many different qualities that attribute to my character. Some including, I am a naturally positive person, I am non-judgmental, and I try my best to be focused and efficient. I also like to make people laugh, but I know when to be serious. Part of being a good leader is knowing how to work as a team. Many of the activities I participate in have shown me how to do so. I believe in working as a team to come up with solutions, plans, and ideas.
Remember the Titans directed by Boaz Yakin, is an inspirational feature film that retells the true story of a high school football team that overcame racism to win the football championship. Set in Virginia during the forced integration of high school districts in the American south, the film explores the idea of racism, friendship and communication in sports through the use of camera shots and angles, props, body language and juxtaposition. Yakin suggests that racist attitudes are the product of ignorance, but can be overcome by communication and friendship through the representation of Gary’s girlfriend, Emma’s change of attitude toward Julius. Yakin’s representation of Coach Boone
In the film ‘Remember the Titans’ directed by Boaz Yakin, the main characters of the Titans are introduced as a group to us in a scene shot in the gymnasium. This scene is when the team first meets the other prospective team members and develop their relationships with each other. Yakin uses this scene to show the tension and intimidation between the two separate teams, especially focusing in on the two coaches (Boone and Yoast) while giving the audience an idea of where their relationship stands. He uses four techniques to create this; blocking, sound effects, camera angles and dialogue do this.
Prejudice, as defined in psychology, is a negative attitude towards members of a group, based on an individual’s involvement of that group. All of us are subject to be a target of prejudice concerns. Any one man or woman who is prejudice against a group, will tend to ignore the individual characteristics or behavior of members of the group that they themselves share, solely based on the reason they associate themselves to a different group. In the film ‘Remember the Titans’, prejudice is portrayed in several ways, but mainly targets the discrimination of the African-Americans. Racism is one form of prejudice that becomes a recurring action seen throughout most of the movie, it doesn’t slow town until the town starts to see how well all

“Remember the titans” was a movie that was released on September 23, 2000. The movie was directed by Boaz Yakin. The movie includes famous stars such as Denzel Washington as Coach Herman Boone, Will Patton as Coach Bill Yoast, and Wood Harris as Julius `Big Ju '. The movie takes place in Alexandria, Virginia. The schools in Alexandria were segregated based on race. It was in 1971 when the school board forced the people to combine the white schools and the black schools in to one called T.C. Williams High School. Coach Boon (Denzel Washington) who came from North Carolina was put as a head coach by the school board which made the former coach and the white player unhappy because of his skin color. Boone offered Yoast a defensive coordinator position which he refused first but then was forced to accept the offer when the white player and their families pledged to boycott the school if he don’t participate. Herman was seen as savior from discrimination and segregation by the African American people. Coach Herman took the team to a football camp to prepare them for the season. Coach Herman Boone forced the players to sit and room together because he wanted the black and the white players to learn to respect each other and embrace their difference. The African Americans and white players were regularly fighting and arguing for instance captain Gerry Bertier (Ryan Hurst) and Julius Campbell (Wood Harris) were arguing who was covering who and blaming players for not
While watching Remember the Titans, I learned a lot about team work and putting your differences aside. Remember the Titans is based on a true story. It is the story of T.C. Williams High school in Alexandria, Virginia. Tension runs high as the football team is integrated the summer before school. In the beginning, the team has problems coming together because of their race. One coach, Herman Boone, pushes them to overcome the racial stigmas and lead the team to a state championship. On this journey they learn that life is more than just color and find similarities among each other.
Every individual is expected to behave appropriately and collaborate with other people with respect. It does not matter what country someone came from, nor what race he or she might be. No one is born who is already a racist. Family background and social environment where someone grew up are the biggest factors that influence people’s attitude and behavior, and on how they deal with a situation and make the best decision that they could. These factors also affect how someone can deal and create a harmony and relationship with others despite of racial and demographic differences. In the film Remember the Titans, directed by Boaz Yakin, it illustrates the unity and teamwork of a football team regardless of every player’s race. When differences are set aside and people will work together, everything will work out as planned. This motion picture tells the story of Coach Herman Boone, played by Denzel Washington, his colleague Coach Bill Yoast, played by Will Patton, the team’s defensive end player Julius Campbell, played by Wood Harris, the linebacker Gerry Bertier, played by Ryan Hurst, and the quarterback player Ronnie “Sunshine” Bass, played by Kip Pardue. Within the story, the theme of football team players disregard their individual differences to achieve their team’s goal symbolizes that racism and discrimination do not hinder any success in life, and a good camaraderie and
A good leader needs to have many particular characteristics. Some of these are obvious, such as that they care about what you are doing and always puts you before themselves. Also another trait of a good leader is that they always keep promises they make. Some of the subtle attributes of a good leader are that they do not hide behind bad news. Moreover, they are easy people to talk to and they have a good if not excellent sense of humor.
