Wade from Ernest Cline’s Ready Player One has very few family or friends, but without the few did have he would never have won Haliday's contest. The friends of Wade watts in Ready Player One by Ernest Cline both contributed to and withheld Wade's ability to find the easter egg, his friend Aech with the copper key, Art3mis withheld his ability to find the jade key, and all of his friends contribute to Wade’s ability to clear the crystal gate. Aech is Wade’s best and only friend, providing moral support and a way to hone knowledge and video game skills, helping him to get the copper key. Art3mis’s “support” for Wade caused him to almost abandon the hunt for the egg, withholding his ability to find the jade key. Finally, During the final gate, …show more content…
Wade had a “massive cyber-crush on Art3mis” long before they met, so much that he planned to “devote all of [his] time to the Hunt. But all [he] really wanted to do was spend time with Art3mis.”(pg.183) after he graduated. On top of that, the Jade key was difficult to find, taking over “six months”(pg.208) for someone to find. Art3mis distracted Wade from the key to the extent that he exclaimed “To hell with our competition! And the egg!”(pg.195), Art3mis's “support” for Wade reduced his ability to find the jade key heavenly. After they separated, Wade had a full out existential crisis, he “ had a hard time getting out of bed in the morning.”(pg.198) and purchased an “ACHD (anatomically correct haptic doll)”(pg.201). He “wasted thousands of credits, missed a whole week of work, and was on the verge of completely abandoning [his] quest for the egg“(pg.201) Those events were caused by Art3mis’s “support” for Wade, reducing his ability to find the egg to virtually …show more content…
In order to complete the first part of the gate, Wade had to beat the score of “728,329” on a game called Tempest, with “Only one credit”(pg.359). He could never have done it, as “[it] is not [his] best game”(pg.358), and “[has]n’t played Tempest in years”(pg.359) but Art3mis provided a bug that would give him “forty free credits”(pg.360). Without that tip, “There [was] no way [Wade’s] [was]going to beat [the] high score”(pg.359). Wade's friends provided moral support before he entered the gate as well. They said things like “Good luck” and “Do your best.” The crystal gate was a very big moment for Wade, and his friends were there to support him on the way.
Wade’s friends from Ernest Cline’s Ready Player One both contributed and withheld his ability to pass the copper key, jade key, and the crystal gate. Aech was Wade’s one and only friend, whose Joust matches had allowed Wade to obtain the copper key. Art3mis was Wade's “cyber-crush”(pg.43), her “support” for him heavily reduced his ability to find the jade key. Finally, all of Wade’s friends provided support and useful tips so he could pass the crystal key. Wade’s has very few friends, the ones he has are competing against him, yet they still have a vital impact on his ability to win the
Have you ever wondered about the character Dallas Winston from the book The Outsiders? Wondered what he did and what he was like? Now is your chance. The novel The Outsiders by S.E. If an American loses their character, it will take a lot of courage and motivation to gain what they lost back. To explain this, Benjamin Martin who was the leader of a militia, lost multiple of his kids. When he lost his oldest son he became very depressed and unmotivated to lead his army; however, he remembered what the British had done to his children, so with all his courage, he was able to become motivated again (The Patriot). This illustrates how it takes a lot of motivation and courage to gain back your character since Benjamin Martin lost his characters of effort and responsibility, since it was his responsibility to lead the army and put as much effort into leading the army as he could. Benjamin Martin gained his character back as he remembered that his soldiers were counting on him to lead the army, which caused him to gain back his character that he had lost.
Chris McCandless as depicted in the book Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer and in the movie of the same name by Sean Penn, was not ignorant and he did have common sense. He had every reason to go into the Alaskan wilderness and to say he had no common sense is ridiculous. He was definitely not crazy and his courage and noble ideas should be admired. He was a man that followed his dreams and did something that most of us wish we had the guts to do. What Chris McCandless A.K.A Alexander Supertramp did, was admirable and worthy of respect.
Benjamin Martin in The Patriot risked more things then we could ever imagine risking in a war. He risked ever seeing his kids again, and having his family killed for fighting with the militia and killing british officers. He had two of his sons die because he went to war, one of them was murdered by the british officer when he was just a kid. He is just like so many of the other signers in the declaration of independence, they risked being murdered by the british and putting their friends and family in danger. In the end they did sign and for Benjamin Martin he did sign, to declare freedom from the british.

“You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.” by R. Buckminster Fuller, This quote means you can’t change the reality by fighting it. But you can change it by creating a better world for yourself or someone else. This quote is true because you cannot go against the real world but you can create a better world for yourself by trying and not giving up. For example Pollution, instead of arguing with each other, people can make electric cars instead of cars that consume gas. The dystopian novel, Ready player one, by Ernest Cline and the short story Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut jr. as well as real world events prove the interpretation.
In high school Allen hated basketball, he didn’t want to play, at all. His mother forced him to go to practice he complained but changed his mind when he saw all his football buddies there.
The image of rape of a white women is not the same as interracial sex, but if you are Ethan from The Searchers then the rape of a white women would not be the same thing as interracial sex, according to The Searchers, “ Ethan’s racism and fear of miscegenation manifest themselves so often that a couple of examples of him at his vindictive should suffice: firstly, when he shoots the eye out of the dead Indian, eternally demining him to “ wander forever between the wind’s. Secondly when he shoots at an enormous herd of buffalo, figuring that “killing” buffalo’s as good as killing Injuns in the country” (Nugent 70). This shows the hatred that Ethan has and that for him Indians are not humans but animals he enjoys killing and if a woman would sleep

Rowdy was Junior's best and only friend Even when Rowdy turned his back on Junior, Junior still believed in their friendship even with the opportunity of being heartbroken. As a result Junior decided to take a risk and go to a new school he needed to tell Rowdy. Rowdy didn’t want Junior to leave so, Rowdy punched Junior out of anger and hatred. After the fight, ‘’I stayed on the ground for a long time after Rowdy walked by. I stupidly hoped that time would stand still if I stayed still. But I had to stand eventually, and when I did, I knew that my best friend had become my worst enemy.’’ Junior risked his whole friendship to be able to create a better future with school. Their friendship broke and would probably not be the same again. Rowdy had the mindset that Junior completely betrayed their whole friendship. Throughout the book after their falling out, Junior would email Rowdy once in a while to get in contact with him again. Rowdy would sometimes go along with it or he would get angry. Since then, towards the end of the book Rowdy and Junior hadn't hung out as friends in a long period of time so they decided to play basketball like they used to do. As Junior and Rowdy played basketball, “Rowdy and I played one-on-one for hours. We played until dark. We played until the streetlights lit up the court. We played until the bats swooped down to our heads. We played until the moon was huge and golden and perfect in

Out of all the friends she had made in the 4 years of Ault, she has only 2 actual friends: Martha and Conchita. The others she made were not defined as friends, but benefactors. In the 4 years of Ault, she had manipulated many to accept, but not respect, her. She had won the heart of Martha, a senior prefect, and Cross, the most popular boy in her grade.

One of the books I’ve enjoyed ever since first discovering it was the Once and Future King, written by T.H. White. The story of King Arthur, Robin Hood, and the knights of the round table really inspired me and my writing, and it felt genuinely like you were looking through Arthur’s life. It’s an old book, clearly, with a decent size and complex language. As a matter of fact, I don’t believe I ever finished it, and should probably try to look into that. Anyways, as I was saying, The Once and Future King was really well-written for its time, having been published in 1958. I find it comparable to another one of my favorites, the Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit series due to their complex language but excellent
