What Are My Strengths In My Legislative Internship

My personal strengths include a dedication to social justice, I am compassionate, I am open-minded and able to evaluate issues from various aspects and points of view. Professionally, my strengths are experiences working with individuals from various ages, cultures, ethnicities, beliefs, and socioeconomic statuses. I have worked with individuals with various mental health concerns, people with past and current substance use, and those experiencing domestic violence. These strengths will assist me in creating helping relationships with my clients because I think it will foster a trusting and safe environment which will encourage the clients to confide in me as well as work together to effect positive change in their lives.

My greatest personal strength is that I am comfortable speaking to large groups. This will enable me to clearly give information and guide the ensemble effectively in any situation.

What personal and professional strengths do you have that you can use and build on to create helping relationships with your clients?

There are a variety of different strengths that encompass who I am as well as some limitations. However, my most notable strengths are my need to help others, my ability to form new relationships, deal with a wide range of emotions and the capacity of my willingness to change. The characteristics that need some improvement are my self-confidence, my assertiveness, my trusting nature, and my knowledge regarding the customs and attitudes associated with different cultures.

Under the category of Relationship building Individualization and Relator were my strongest strengths. Both similar in relating to others, having the ability to see and understand others uniqueness, knowing what they are about and what motivate others. As an individualist I can sense other’s needs, what motivates them and what is unique about them often, quicker and easier than someone that scores lower in this area.

Communication: I am very good at listening and talking to other people and I have no problem speaking with people.

The ability to build rapid interpersonal relationships can help me in the long run with work and just in general. I feel that I’m able to see the best in people even when their actions exhibit the opposite. I can see the best in others, but not in myself, and I realize that is something I need to continue working on. Being able to give people a second chance can help me work with various populations that might suffer from social stigma.

I believe my strengths are that I’m an active listener and provide people with an open and comfortable atmosphere to let them open up. I do not like to judge people and as soon as this happens I correct my behavior. Understanding when this is happening and how to approach it can benefit the professional relationship with clients.

In situations when I have worked in a group setting, I have been told that one of my strengths is taking in, processing multiple ideas and information. Another strength is being able to determine the ideas that are relevant to the project on which we are working. After participating in a business symposium at Huntington University, I received feedback from another participant who felt that I was knowledgeable and able to express myself succinctly. Lastly, though different opportunities I have had, I have shown an ability to share knowledge that I have in a coaching or teaching

For myself, I believe a few of my personal assets in building relationships with others would have to be my empathetic and developing attitude. Being a developer, I believe that there is good and potential in very human being. I enjoy helping people discover, first of all, potential within themselves, and then the potential in other individuals as well. Now my empathy helps me better understand and connect with people on a more personal level. I am able to listen to an individual and see the world through their eyes. I believe that these two strengths, along with my other top strengths, will help me obtain a fulfilling and successful career.

In addition, I have strength in communication aspects, when I am relating to people regardless of diversity. I am self-aware of my self-aware of others; I listen to people and considers their point of view. I also respect their viewpoints and perspective. My strengths while teaching include developing relationships with students. I enjoy building rapport with students and getting to integrate their interests into class discussions. Based on my feedback from my students, they appreciate having the opportunity to provide feedback frequently throughout the semester. My students also appeared to feel comfortable asking questions.
