What Are The Causes Of Youth Sports?

As adolescents go through school, they have many choices and opportunities on doing different things to help them develop differently. As the kids in our society grow up, they have many different opportunities of sports and clubs to join in school that will change their character and develop, yet only a few kids take advantage of these opportunities. In every school, all across the United States, at least one type of sport is offered and as some kids are involved in these sports and excel, others choose not to get involved and this hurts them in more ways than they know. Because all kids enjoy doing many different things, schools have started to offer a larger variety of sports so every students has the opportunity to find something active that they enjoy a lot. Recently, the Yellowbrick Treatment Program of Evanston, surveyed 1,000 American students from across the country to get a sense of how rampant the pressure to succeed in youth sports truly is. Within the survey they found evidence that pressure, from both parents and peers, had a large impact on participation in youth sports, as well as the lasting impact on these students throughout their whole lives (Tim Whelan Jr). Within more of their findings, it was found that the number of adolescents participating in youth sports has declined by more than six perfect throughout the last five years, while participation in all sports had declined by ten percent (Tim Whelan Jr.).
