Firstly, once Ender arrives at the Battle school, at the age of only six years old, he initially faces many difficulties with assimilating into his launch group, along with the other children, "The other boys talked and joked and bragged and laughed. Ender often gets bullied by Bernard and his little group. He always finds ways to get back at him, though. Ender meets older kids while watching them play the battle games. He ends up beating one of the older kids and he makes him mad. That was a bad move for Ender, because now he has older kids that dislike him.
