As a college student, writing adequately is important for many reasons. Writing adequately allows students to become susceptible to high paying jobs, post secondary schooling, satisfactory grades, and improved speaking habits. Adequate writing should appear formal; professional even. When applying for a job or post secondary schooling, a college student should present themselves through adequate writing. Despite the many great attributes one has to offer, inadequate writing can quickly counteract these qualities, making or breaking one’s opportunity for employment at a job or acceptance at a university. When asked of what college writing means to me is, I have a few concepts. They are; that I am not ready to achieve that capacity of expression, that it must possess exquisite grammar, spelling is of the highest accuracy, and that the proverbial “bar” has never been so high and will never be trumped until you write a resume for an occupation.
In order to effectively communicate, one has to be able to convey a message through a letter, which would be an easy thing to do if one has a mastery of their writing skills. The following presentation describes what a letter is and outlines various types of letters. Also included in the presentation is the various rhetorical elements that can be used to help strengthen one’s quality of writing. Writing is something we have been used to since childhood. Beginning to write with just a few words and activities to improve our pendmanship. From easy sentences we all gradually improve our writing, as expected from higher levels of education. However, throughout all this time, many of us have been writing blind. Only writing what is seen an necessary, oblivious to the true skill and precision it takes to actually write quality work. Grammar appears to be the largest similarity. Without the proper use of grammar, writers in either college or the workplace will not be taken seriously. Grammar gives the audience a sense of confidence in the writer. Along with grammar, being credible is another similarity. Many students have failed papers for lacking credible sources, and like wise people in the workforce have been fired for not having accurate information.
