Conduct For the safety of all children please discuss proper behavior with your child. The children are not allowed to rough play inside or outside. All children will be expected to be respectful of the teachers as well as their classmates. Please make sure your child understands that fieldtrips are a privilege and can be taken away. Any child that we persistently have problems with will have fieldtrips taken away, at the directors discretion. If they cannot act respectfully at the center we cannot trust that they will act correctly on away from the center activities. In the event a child loses a fieldtrip privilege tuition rate will remain the same.
Their main objective is to create a safe educational environment for the children to learn in to help them develop in all areas. The setting offers a variety of activities for the children to take part in which will develop areas of their holistic development which will work with the children to reach the goals set for them.
The center has stricter policies against what children can and cannot say, express, state, draw, etc. Although some of these restrictions may be enforced to prevent dangerous or unsafe conditions (such as juveniles showing territorial enemy gang signs to one another) this still stunts their learning experience. Juveniles in these centers are not guaranteed “to have pleasurable experiences” nor “to avoid nonbeneficial pain” (Young, 1990).
In an effort to maintain trust, transparency, and professionalism transparency among the players, parents, and organization, communication serves as the main platform. Both verbal and written plans and expectations are necessary to adequately inform each individual. At the start of the program it is necessary to verbally explain the expectations of the player, the parent, and the organization, as each individual has in impactful role in ensuring the success of the program. This will be supplemented with written expectations and agreements as well as the program’s agenda. This ensures that parents know what their child is learning, the children know what to expect at practice and individuals within the organization are held accountable for following through with the completion of set agendas.

When you think of summer camp, you think of trips and being active all day. You recall arts and craft and camp songs and fun all the times. The low funding for the summer camp has effect the overall summer camp dream. In the year of 2010, the students had a field trip 2 times a week; however, as of summer 2015 the students went on four outside trips. Summer camp is about being outside and learning new things through field trip experiences. How can they have a rich and fulling summer with four trips? They already spent 180 days in a class while do they have to be in one during the summer also. This summer they are going on 10 trips. Four of the trips are places other than different Brightside centers, and the other six are at Brightside centers. We have to do better to improve the summer camp experiences for our students; funding should not interfere with their fun, but it

The
Freire Wilmington and its sister schools in Philadelphia are very inclusive and welcoming to parents, as we view each child’s development holistically—the result of both student choices and efforts and family strength and support. Our philosophy of social justice through strengthening the whole school community academically, socially and emotionally requires that we have extensive involvement and communication with, and work towards meeting the educational needs of both students and their families. In the 21st C CLC, we will give parents both a direct and indirect voice in managing the program to suit their needs and the needs of their children. The Advisory Board, which is responsible for setting program policy and managing partnerships and
The youth in Anaheim need to stay far, far away from the dangers of gangs, drug use, juvenile hall and dropping out of school at a young age. In order to avoid this, a place like Higher Ground is essential for the City of Anaheim. The children of Anaheim would benefit from a place where children from grades two through eight can go and engage in fun activities such as dance, baseball, karate, and homework help is what the kids in Anaheim need. A place where children can go to “hang out” after school, do their homework and be mentored by college students and adults whom have plenty of experience with working with children is extremely necessary in Anaheim. Luckily there is such a place; it’s Higher Ground Youth and Family Services. This program’s purpose is to help shape the futures of these children, help mentor them, and get them on the right path to success, whether that is going to a four year university, college, or simply just keeping them from getting into serious trouble.

The goal is to prepare children for kindergarten by providing them opportunity to learn by exploring and interacting with other children and adults.
