Josh Bailey was drafted with the 9th pick in the 2008 NHL entry draft. Crazy to think that this coming June, it will be 10 years since that moment. Looking back to that time, it wasn't exactly an ideally situation. The islanders had the 5th overall pick going into that draft. They would trade that to the leafs and swipe first round picks. The isles would move back to the 7th pick which was then moved to Nashville and they would end up picking Bailey with the 9th overall pick.
10 years after there are still a lot of people who just don't like having Bailey on the team. A bunch of different reasons behind that. The main reason is if you look back At the 2008 draft a lot big time players that play today we're drafted after him. You can

A lot of people just wanted him gone from the team. Now he is the guy who people just can’t decide on. He is playing way to well to hate this season and it’s time to consider him an elite and valuable part of the New York Islanders.
Coming off a career season of 56 points, Bailey is off to a hot start in the 2017-2018 season. Through 17 games, he currently has 18 points, which puts him on an 87-point pace for this season. Last season, he was placed on a line with John Tavares and Andres Lee and that line worked wonders. With the addition of Jordan Eberle this season, that bumped Bailey off the top line. After about 7 games, coach Weight decided to put the line back together. Bailey, despite having a strong start to the season, didn’t miss a beat rejoining his line mates from last season.
It’s also hard to not root for a guy who is such a good person off the ice. Just as @tomlofaso329 of the Blue and Orange army said “He's routinely progressed since we drafted him. He's a class act on and off the ice, and one of the nicest guys I've had the pleasure of meeting. So, happy he's been lighting it up the last few years he's worked so hard for it and deserves it.” No matter what the outcome of the game, no matter how his night was, Bailey was one of the few guys who would always stop by the ramp at the coliseum and come out and sign autographs and take pictures with the fans. He has a lot of loyal fans that have enjoyed watching him play since the beginning. The blue and
In Morten’s replacement, Landry gambled on his injured quarterback who was out of action for most of the season due to a separated shoulder.
"This guy's resilient, he's got a great attitude, great character, he's versatile. He's a guaranteed first-round pick. Thought that all along, but then the injury you thought maybe could be a factor. But the workouts solidified him. The tape, the workouts, the character, he's going in the first round said Mel Kiper.
After his injury, he was fully healed and ready to play when the coach realized they’re backup quarterback was younger and had a really good game. The coach decided to take a chance with the backup and benched Alex smith. He had to sit out knowing the team that used to be his didn’t want him anymore. Alex Smith’s whole career he threw 128 touchdown passes. He has over 10,000 yards passing in his whole career. I respect alex smith because when his career as a 49er ended he didn’t
The former University of Florida and Wharton High School star has been told the right cornerback spot is his to lose. But when the Bucs go to their sub packages with five defensive backs, Hargreaves moves inside to the slot, showing the kind of versatility by a defensive back not seen in Tampa Bay since Ronde Barber retired.
"I have thrown a lot at him, giving him a ton of reps," offensive coordinator Jake Spavital said. "I think the kid has the right mind set. You can tell that he has played a lot of football. He was actually a quarterback at Rice at one point and then he has been a receiver. He has played at the college level. Really right now he is trying to figure out the offense and all of the ins and outs of it. He can hopefully get out there and help us. I have been pleased with how he is so far, we just have to keep repping over these next two weeks and developing him and getting it to where he starts to think slow is what I’m trying to accomplish with him."
De’Shaun Buzzwell was born on October 13th, 1989 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was always really fast and had a lot of energy. Because of this, his mother put him into sports. He played baseball, football, and basketball. His favorite sport was football. He played on an elite traveling football team that he was the star of. His dream was to play college football for Oklahoma State University. He worked day in and day out. Because of his hard work and effort, not only did he get his dream of playing for OSU, it also gave him a first round draft pick with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That didn’t automatically mean that he was the best player on the team though. He had a very rough first season, only playing in five games and having the worst average rushing yards for rookie W.R., and only scored one touchdown in the season In the off-season, he didn’t expect to get anywhere. But, his friend worked with him every day in the off-season. They worked every other day on speed, agility, endurance, and strength. He never quit. His hard work in the off-season paid off, as he played in fourteen out of his team’s sixteen games for the season and averaged the best rushing yards for a wide receiver for the entire NFL, and had eight touchdowns. The
The Panthers drafted Funchess 41nd overall in this years draft he was a standout at Michigan! The Panthers are making it very clear that they want tall targets for cam Newton to throw to. A good thing because when Newton is off he tends to throw high and now with the size of our receivers they might be able to snag more of those high throws. Funchess is 6’4 225 paired with Benjamin is going to be a matchup nightmare in the red zone because all Cam Newton has to do is throw a jump ball and our guys will have a great chance to catch it!
With 2017 quickly coming to an end, the congressional and governor races are heating up. One race that is flying under the radar is the New Jersey 5th congressional district election. Democratic incumbent Josh Gottheimer is bracing up for what should be a hotly contested seat. As a New Jersey native, I have a keen sense of the type of people that Gottheimer needs to reach out to. The New Jersey 7th district, where I am from, is not much different than that of the 5th. Both are wealthy areas that tend to vote Republican. The Democratic Party has had a setback, especially with the 2016 presidential election, but Gottheimer is one bright spot that they cannot afford to lose. In order to retain his seat, which I believe he will, Josh
Ever since Kevin Garnett, a teenager who by-passed college, was drafted as the fifth overall pick in the 1995 National Basketball Association (NBA) draft, more and more high school teenagers have been making the jump straight to the pros. Since the league draft of 1995, 17 first round picks have been high school players. This means that about 7 percent of first round draft picks in the NBA have been high school teens skipping out on their college education to make the jump to the NBA (Chylinski).
In 2012, after being traded from the Mets to San Francisco, he managed to swat seven dingers while batting .323, garnering him another hefty contract, this time with the St. Louis Cardinals. His final year as a red bird saw him hit 32 home runs and 97 RBI’s, resulting in his most recent multi-million-dollar deal.
It would be foolish for the Eagles to even consider getting rid of Blount, based off his preseason struggles.
As you look at everything Manning has accomplished as not just a player but also as a person, “It’s so easy to see how fortunate we were to have him on our team,” Broncos General Manager John Elway said.
Some are considering this as a bluff as Carr was not happy with some of the calls thrown his way during the divisional round. At the age of 30, Brandon Carr continued to have another productive season with the Dallas Cowboys. Carr finished the season with 53
For those not familiar, Key left the team the Spring of 2017 for personal reasons. Many thought he would be back, which he did, but the mystery of why he left has not been solved. Key has said himself that he has been 100% upfront with NFL teams on why he left the team, but it is still unknown to the public why he left. NFL GM's probably appreciate that he is being honest, but might not like the answer that he is giving still. We really won't know until draft night if it is a serious issue, because if he falls far enough, it must be a reason why.
Unfortunately, the injury set back Tomlin's progression, but he is making strides and trending upward. Since returning from the disabled list last year, he has recorded a quiet 7-2 record in 10 starts. Tomlin has found a rhythm and his silent success has continued into this season.
