Nothing is more important than the awards a player has achieved. To exceed the impossible is what motivates an athlete to go beyond what others are willing to execute. This is where Michael and LeBron truly become equal but separate at the same time. Michael has attended fourteen all-star games versus the twelve games that LeBron has played in. Obviously James will play in more all-star games by the end of his career. On the other hand, LeBron will play in more season than Michael ever did. So, it would not be fair to say he was better in that sense. Aside from all the other awards, only one trophy matters more than the rest. The Larry O’Brien championship trophy is the most prestigious achievement a player can be awarded. LeBron only has two
I know that hard work got me here. And the day I stop working hard, this can all go away.Kevin Durant is one of the most talented basketball player I know he works hard every day. When KD plays he averaged 28 points per game. KD played for OKC but this year got drafted by Golden State. He has been increasing with the hard work he does the stats show that he is better than Lebron James right now Kevin Durant is 6’9.
Most people who are older than thirty will say that Michael is better only because they watched him play. Everyone under the age of 30 will say Lebron is better because they are watching him now. Those over 30 will say Michael is better only say it because they don’t want change. They don’t want to accept the fact that Michael is not the best to ever play the game of basketball. They often have the age old argument of “6 rings,” which is complete garbage. What does having more championships have to do with being a better overall basketball player? Having more championships only indicates the best team that year. If we take championships into the conversation, Bill Russell should be considered to be the best player ever because of his eleven rings, including seven straight with countless other accomplishments. Although this is impressive, we’re not talking about the most accomplished player ever but just straight up best to ever set foot on the hardwood. By my definition the best basketball player should be reliable, strong, athletic, and a team player. Someone who you can tell to go make a play and you know that he will do it.
When looking at Jordan and James’ fame, they are both equally popular, but it is how they handle the fame that sets them apart. Jordan is a class act, meaning he carries himself with honorable pride, not vanity. After Jordan signed with Nike his game only got better. He never felt as if he was too good for improvement and showed everyone great respect. James differs after he signed with Nike, his game flat-lined. He never showed any kind of improvement in his game, and his team never got any better. It seemed like he only tried when he had the ball, especially when his team was getting blown out.
Jordan and James have accomplished many things as an individual and they both took their teams to the next level. They both won the NBA rookie of the year and the NBA all-rookie first team. Lebron is a two time all NBA second team, while Michael only accomplished 1. Michael is a five time NBA most valuable player to Lebron’s two. Michael also was a 14 time time NBA all-star to Lebron’s seven. Lebron was only a NBA scoring champion once, Michael is a ten time NBA scoring champion and three time NBA scoring champion. Since Lebron didn’t go to college he never experience college basketball and to mature his game for the pros like Michael Jordan did, and Michael got many awards while playing for North Carolina. He was awarded twice the consensus NCAA all American first team and led North Carolina to two championships. Michael is also included in a nine time all defensive first team, but Lebron was included only three times. Michael even won two gold medals from the Olympic Games.
Lebron James is considered the very best among many top players to ever play the game.
Why is LeBron the person he is? How did he become good at leading his team to the NBA finals? Did one day he just woke up with this ability and then used it to play basketball or something? The reason why LeBron is the person he is today is because he practice. He made steps and plans on how to do things. In addition to that he started at a young age at being a good leader and a good student at school. Even though that LeBron was extremely good at basketball, he had to do his work in order to play the game he loved so much. Most people in the world would like to be him. Those who ask him how to become like him wonder, what steps and plans should they make in order to become successful. John F. Kennedy said, “Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.” There are certain steps that need to be taken in order to accomplish that. Good students and leaders need to create steps and
Did you know Kyrie Irving was the first overall pick of the Cleveland cavaliers in 2011? In this essay I will tell you about Kyrie Irving's backgrounds, accomplishments, and the person who inspired him. Kyrie Andrew Irving is an American professional basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National basketball association. Kyrie Irving is one of the best point guards in the NBA.
Influential people change the world with their words, influences people takes risks and try harder in people’s life. Lebron James once said, “Don’t be afraid of failure; this is the way to succeed.” Lebron tried to tell people that they don’t need be afraid to fail even he does. Also, he is one of the greatest players ever and he still is succeeding throughout his life. Failure is what lets us people know what we did wrong and how to succeed next time. Another, quote by Ray Lewis says, “All I know is the grind.” Ray said that hard work pays off, and him working hard getting the grind is paying off for him because he is a very successful football player. He wants people to be successful, so he told them how he did it so that they could follow in his footsteps. Drake says,“Life can always change, you just have to adjust.” Overall, This quote just tells us life will change no matter what, so we need to figure out a way to get through that change. Like when Drake’s life changed when he became a famous rapper, he adjusted and wanted to be better. Now he’s more famous there will be obstacles in our path just find a way around them. Those influential people have quoted
In conclusion, Lebron is one of the greatest to play the game and will be in the top ten of all time. That still does not mean he will surpass Michael anytime soon if not ever. They are both so equal but so different in their own ways. He simply has not done enough to even be in this conversation at all. Now it does not matter because people have their own opinions and will argue that LeBron will be better than Jordan. People just need to understand that the facts do not lie. LeBron James will never be as good or better than Michael Jordan.
According to “LandOfBaketball.com,” Michael Jordan won 10 scoring titles in his career compared to LeBron’s 1 scoring title. Scoring titles are awarded at the end of the season to the player who averaged the most points per game. Also, LeBron James has a total of 30,356 points scored in 1,120 games while MJ has scored 32,292 points in 1,072 games, (LandOfBasketball). Having said this, Michael Jordan has scored more points than LeBron James even though LeBron has played more games. As a result, Michael Jordan is an overall better scorer.
He has won many awards. In 2004, he was named the Rookie of the Year. Later that year in December, he became the youngest NBA player to ever score 2000 points. After his fifth All-Star game, LeBron got his first ever MVP award in the 2008-2009 NBA season. He averaged 28.4 points in the season, and was the youngest player ever to score 11,000 points (JockBio: LeBron James).
I believe that LeBron James is better than Michael Jordan due to LeBron had hit 30,000 career points at 33 years old, LeBron was a more team player than Michael, despite Michael had arguably the greatest coach of all time, Phil Jackson. LeBron was a 6’8” small forward (who would eventually play all positions on the court) straight out of high school when he was drafted. During LeBron’s senior year in high school he averaged 31.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists
Also Michael has done some crazy things players like Lebron James only dream of doing. He had 10 triple doubles in 11 games when the Bulls put him at point guard but he then went back to shooting guard because it is more comfortable for him. He has the highest. He has the most 30 point playoff games with 109 and when Jordan made it to the finals the Bulls won the championship every single time. In his last finals game ever the Bulls trusted him so much that he was the only person on the Bulls to even touch the ball in the last 40 seconds and hit a game winning shot. Also in every full season that he
Michael averaged 2.4 steals per game while Kobe averaged 1.5. Michael is third in total stealing, but Kobe falls to thirteen in this category. Also Michael averaged 0.8 blocks a game, and Kobe averaged 0.5 blocks a game. This is not to say that Michael’s defense was better, but he was more active on defense than Kobe. Kobe was more offensive-minded, whereas Michael was more all-around. Michael was more of a team player; he made those around him better or seem better. Kobe is more of a selfish player and the only person he believes is responsible is himself. Michael has always been Kobe idle, and Kobe has strived his whole career to surpass him. In fact the game in which he pass Michael in total point, Kobe made seven out of twenty shot. In his words, “I'm just honored to be here, man, to still be playing, I appreciate being able to play this long. Careers normally don't last this long. I really appreciate the opportunity to still be out there playing and performing and doing what I do" (Holmes, Baxter. "Kobe Tops Jordan on NBA Scoring List." ESPN. ESPN Internet Ventures, n.d. Web. 27 Oct.
Lebron James and Kobe Bryant are two of the most explosive players in the NBA today. Each player has his own playing style that separates him from the rest of the league. Both players have their own career achievements, endorsements, and personal life stories behind the game. If you ask anybody, the comparison between these two players is great. It is a never ending debate between who is better because both players have something different to bring to the table. Side by side on paper, both players seem dominant and may one day end up in the basketball hall of fame. But as individuals, side by side, each has a different but similar life.
