Ethics are statements written that mirrors the principles of society it reflects society’s views of what is right or humanitarian. However, morals are not written and are codes setting out what is thought to be good enough or offensive behaviour.

What is ethical may not always be right, and what is right may not always be ethical. Patient Safety and Nursing Ethics are Closely related. There are many ways that patient safety may be affected by nursing code of ethics and accountability plays a major role. To me ethics are what a person believes is right or wrong. The Joint Commission 's national safety goals for 2016 address great concerns within nursing. These goals include identifying patients correctly, improving staff communication, using medicine safely, using alarms safely, preventing infection, and identifying patient safety risks.

According to Merriam-Webster, ethics is defined as an area of study that deals with ideas about what is good and bad behavior. Some would argue that definition is rather vague. A more complete understanding of ethics would suggest that it is more than just an area of study but rather a way of life; moral principles that govern a person's or group's behavior. If one is ethical and has good moral standards, it is usually seen in that person. Simply put, ethics could be considered the standards of behavior as to which society accepts.

Ethics are constantly regarded as the moral principles that influence a person’s behavior. Ethics are concerned with distinguishing between good and evil and is a concept that persuades people to act in the most positive way. Each society has created their own ethics where everyone is expected to follow certain values. Deviance from each established ethics system is met with social cost that regards deviating from the established norms as morally corrupt and potentially can be justified actions that will have them return to the system or leave society. When it comes to engineering, building, and designing something that will be used by humans, safety is the most important step in the entire process. It should be taken very seriously by all who are involved in a project, but the engineers should be the ones who double, triple or even quadruple check safety issues. The difference between ethics and morality are rooted in how you are raised and what type of occupation you are currently doing. Morality or “Morals” are what you inherit or are taught at a young age from your parents, grandparents, or any adult figure that is in your life. Basically your morality are habits that are conducted and learned to be your moral compass of what is acceptable and what is not. According to Quinn (2012) your morals might find you in a difficult situation if say parents or grandparents have different beliefs or religions because you can fall into different societies at the same times your morals might fluctuate depending on the situation. Ethics on the other hand is something that is flying over the morality piece.

Ethics are values that guide personal thoughts and actions in knowing right from wrong. Personal conduct and behavior is based on how the individual views unethical behavior. Social responsibility is the company, management, and employees working and conducting themselves by following rules of society.

Secondly, I learned is "to behave ethically is to behave in a manner that is consistent with what is consider to be right or moral." In organizations, it is ethics important because turmoil is created without it. In the Fire Service, this is critical because the community put trust within the members and depends on us to always make the most ethical decision. Some organization thinks that when it comes to ethics, it's ok to bend but never break, however, not being morally consistent will lead to organizational failure.

Morals are the intrinsic beliefs developed from the value systems of how we 'should' behave in any given situation. Ethics, on the other hand, are how we behave in the face of difficult situations (Bottorff, 2005).

To answer this question, we must first understand what both ethics and morality are. As ethics is defined as the philosophical study of morality, those who study religion get their moral precepts from what they believe God says should be done. This perspective is not at all unexpected, because all religions apply a perspective on morality.
