10.) The setting was extremely important for this story to take place. The setting is Panem a post-apocalyptic world that used to be America. If it weren’t for this setting where you were forced to offer up one boy and one girl to The Hunger Games. There also wouldn’t be everybody facing hunger and there wouldn’t be so much poverty. In the game arena the setting plays a very important role by forcing the tributes to make game changing decisions in the harsh environment. The setting reveals important details and characterization between the Districts and the Capitol. It is also important because Panem started with 13 districts, similar to the 13 colonies. In the colonies, the Americans revolted the British took over one of the colonies
