Living as a Muslim in the West, it is very difficult to lead an Islamic life. One of the difficulties is that we do not have a modern role model to look up to that it makes it difficult to follow the straight path. Therefore, many Muslims look to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as the role model to follow. In order to use Muhammad (pbuh) as a role model, one has to educate oneself about him. Growing up as a Muslim, we learned about the Prophet and he was painted as perfect human being. And we were told that the best way to be a good person was to follow his footsteps. Filling these shoes was impossible to fill as our humanity gets in the way of being perfect. But once I truly got to understand Muhammad, I learned that he made mistakes; therefore, he became the perfect imperfect role model.
One of the difficult things about living in the West is that from time to time, you will have doubts about certain things. As a college student, there is always the pressure of consuming alcohol whether it is at parties or at college sponsored events such as Macon Connections. Attending these events, it makes one wonder whether drinking is bad if some many people are doing it; including, students, professors, staff, and alumni. This doubt, when looked through my previous understanding of Muhammad (pbuh), would question my faith. As the perfect human being, Muhamad (pbuh) was understood to have never had doubt his faith. Actually, the Prophet (pbuh) had doubt his role as the

Imagine living in a world where teens are doing drugs, pressuring their peers, and trying to be just like the models in magazines. Unfortunately, that’s the world we live in today. What do these teens need? They need positive adult role models. It is important for a teen to be influenced by positive adult role models while growing up; because if they don’t have positive adult role models, teens can be influenced by negative media, negative peer pressure, and teen drug use.
Police data published by Daily Mail on the Internet, provides evidence suggesting that one crime is committed every five seconds in the United States of America. Resulting in seventeen thousand two hundred eight crimes per day. This shocking number evidently demonstrates that on average too many crimes are committed everyday, and while this data is a reliable source that can be relied on to give people an idea of how many crimes are committed everyday on average; it fails in informing us on the reasons or in what situation the criminals were in to have to be in a position to break the law. Many criminals are thought to be bad people who do things just because they are bad, but many times not being a criminal for many people is inevitable.
After interpreting my findings from research regarding attributes which determine a person to be considered a positive role model, investigation was conducted to determine who are current role models in the media and whether they're reflective of the qualities required.
The role model you should have is God, He is the best role model you could ask for. In Isaiah 6 it explains to you that people can let you down and disappoint you, but God will not. Isaiah 6:1 is really important, because it says that “In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple.” Once King Uzziah died people were able to see God and the love he has for us. The part where it says “ the train of his robe filled the temple.”
The reason we can believe Aristotle’s concept of, if we perform X actions, then we become X is due to the process of habituation. This is when we unconsciously begin to put a theory in to practice, such as knowing what courage is and acting upon it. Aristotle proposes that we exam the right ways to act, and significantly what he means is we ought to find a role model (an archetype) of whom we desire to be like. In cases of courage, a child could have a significant role model that they have in the back of their mind that demonstrates someone who can stand in the face of adversity. In effect, the child will attempt to mimic actions of courage by facing adversity in whatever form it demonstrates itself as (a difficult challenge). In effect, by wanting to face adversity the individual knows they are attempting to be courageous.
Most people would say that in order to be considered a good role model, you first need to be considered a good person. A good person is typically a person who has empathy for others, tries their best to make good decisions, and follows the law. After reading this description, of what a good person is, celebrities would not typically be the first group of people that would pop into your head because of their bad reputations, but that doesn't mean that all public figures are known for their bad choices. Celebrities should be famous for their talents and skills in some sort of field, or they could just have a great life story and have done great things in their life which inspired people to do the same. After all, everyday people run red lights all the time and no one would ever know, but the moment a celebrity gets one traffic ticket, it will be instantly posted all over every single magazine and news station. Public figures should be considered role models because, many public figures can serve as inspiration to do great things and a great example of what can happen if you make bad decisions.
When I was a child I admired Marilyn Monroe 's beauty, unsure of who she was, I was impressed by her glamour. I vividly remember Monroe 's beautiful face features, painted in many frames, clothing and accessories of many of the stores where I would go. She always showed confidence with her half-opened red rose lips and her alluring looks. As I grew older, I learned that Marilyn Monroe was an actress, model and one of the most popular sex symbols of the 1950s. Later I learned that the Hollywood celebrity Marilyn Monroe was a unique artist. Who had a difficult childhood, suffered from drug problems, love conflicts, and was cruelly criticized by foolish people. More than 50 years after her death, Marilyn Monroe is hailed as a positive role model by many women today. Monroe’s seductive eyes, half-open lips and famous “quotes” clutter Twitter, Pinterest and even people’s bodies. Whether some may like her or not, Marilyn Monroe has left a legacy on the world, as the most inspirational women of the century. Her legend has summoned many different images, as some women perceive her as a positive role model others distinguish her as the worst role model. But what encourages her followers to show endless love to the artist? And why do others recognize her a sex symbol and nothing else? Is she an appropriate role model for our juvenile today or is she the worst?
It can be argued that celebrities today are not using their abilities as major influences in today 's societies to bring about change in this world that we live in today which is filled with struggle, pain, ambition, etc. Celebrities have to learn to be looked upon as humans that live lives just as the rest of us. The general population also need to learn that these “celebs” are nothing more than human and that we can’t place certain standards and jobs that they are not entitled to accomplish. We need to allow them to see that the resources that they have can make a major impact in today’s world, then from there we allow them to contribute from the bottom of their heart, what they deem too. Instead we look at celebrities and almost anyone in the upper class as people who are lucky to have what they have and we see them through various tools of mainstream outlets that cause us to judge their lives in every possible way, without any regard towards who they are.
I think that Ali Muhammed would make a great role model for children worldwide, because he was a very good person. He thought that peace in the world was almost the most important thing in the world. He didn’t want to fight to kill others, and he went around the world telling people how wrong it was to kill
Within society, most individuals have a significant person who has touched their lives in an unforgettable manner. Another term for this certain someone would be a role model. In many cases role models are siblings, legal guardians or parents and often that person plays a role in shaping a child’s mind at a young age when they are very impressionable. Role models have the power to persuade or impact a person’s life and affect their decision-making. Small or large, this is powerful input to have. Unfortunately for Cherry, growing up living with only his mother as his role model had a negative effect on his life choices. Children tend to conform to everything their parents say or do. In most cases, they live by the rules and morals passed on to them by their parents. When parents demonstrate behavior that is destructive or live in a manner society would deem inappropriate, that is the behavior often a child will model. Often, children grow up to be like their role models, no matter if the outcome is positive or negative. In some cases, children who grow up in a single parent household live a very different and more difficult life than children raised in a two parent household where both parents are happily married. Single parents may be absent in their child’s life because they have the burden of being the sole provider for their children. In Cherry’s case, his mother is a prostitute whose priorities aren’t in order. She is absent because she chooses to be and not
What makes a person a positive role model for young adults in today's world? At our school, we follow the acronym of ‘PRIDE’. We believe that to be a successful student and/or positive person in general, you should be prepared, respectful to both teachers and peers, should show integrity, should be determined, and should show excellence in their work, studies, and everyday activities. During several events that occur throughout the graphic novel Nimona it is seen that the main character, Nimona, shows three of the five positive behaviors that the students of Einstein middle school are encouraged to show. In Nimona, a young shape-shifter by the name of Nimona teams up with notorious villain Lord Ballister Blackheart to expose the ruler of their kingdom. It is soon shown that Nimona may be more powerful than Blackheart was previously lead to believe. Blackheart and Nimona strive to prove to the kingdom that Sir Ambrosius Goldenloin and his workers at the Institution of Law Enforcement and Heroics aren't the heroes everyone thinks they are by using whatever means necessary. The three ‘PRIDE’ traits that Nimona repeatedly demonstrates throughout the graphic novel are being prepared, determined, and excellent.
The happiest, most exciting memories I hold on to are often accompanied by a country song, whether it be playing in the background, or roaring over the speakers. Songs are written for people to feel and relate to the emotion the songwriter and singer put behind the lyrics. Growing up having my dad be my role model and most influential person in my life, I often find myself in things that remind me of him or our memories, along with songs that describe a girl who is fearless and lives on the edge at times, as if there are no consequences. For me, this is especially true listening to the song “She Ain’t Right,” by Lee Brice, which highlights my personality and strength I got from my dad, my sense of fearlessness, and my constant seeking out of adventure.
It has been a goal of mine to be a strong role model throughout high school for my siblings, friends, and family. I taught them to be modest, showed them right from wrong, and offered my words of wisdom when needed. I attempted to keep my head up, even through my tough situations. In sixth grade, my doctor reported to my family that I had supraventricular tachycardia (SVT). SVT is a heart condition where my heart tends to have a faster rate than normal. My heart rate would go up to 260-280 beats per minute at times, according to my heart monitor. Even sitting in a desk at school, my heart can reach 150 beats per minute. My episodes consisted of my vision going completely black, and my heart rate going up to irregular speeds. Hospital visits were a common thing for me before surgery, and I struggled in school due to the number of absences I had. The process took about six months for numerous doctors to diagnose me, then send me to the children’s hospital in Milwaukee. I was part of the small percentage that got my episodes back after surgery. Throughout this journey, I learned to push through whatever life throws at me while keeping my head up. I rarely let anything stop me from doing what I love to do. I continuously told myself that there are people all over the world who have suffered more than I have.
My past has really shaped me into the person I am today, it is the reason I work as hard as i do weather its in school or outside activities. My goal is to better myself to get to where i want to be as I get older no matter the outcome.
