Over the course of four years of high school the question that I hear most is "What do you want to do after high school?". Well after a lot of decision making I have decided that after high school I am going to continue working my job at Safeway and go to Pierce College for two years. I am hoping that two years at Pierce College will help me find a career I am passionate about and want to further my education in. After I get done with my two years at Pierce I plan on transferring to either Eastern Washington University or Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. Financially, I plan on paying for Pierce by getting a student loan, paying a little bit of tuition out of pocket, and I also plan on applying to get a second job for the summer
The twelve years you spend of your life going to school, is about learning new things and preparing yourself for the real world. Towards the last four years of school, you start thinking about what you want to do after high school, you start taking classes that’s required for what you want to go into, looking at colleges where you can get your degree. College isn’t for everyone right after their done with High School. Other people don’t need college for what they’re going to do, they can just start there job right away. Some people that have no idea what they want to do might consider going into the military, then find something in any of the fields.
To many high school students, college seems like a far away land, a mysterious place where everyone wants to be yet not many know how to get there. As children, our parents tell us how much time we have to think about college, and that it is too far down the line to think about. The truth is it is never too early to think about your future. I, like many people, put little thought into my future career and now am lost in an unfortunate mix of indecision and anxiety. Not knowing where you want to be in the future is a hard burden to bear. Many of us tend to find out that we only know what we do not want, not what we actually do want. Do we want to be poor? Absolutely not. Do we want a boring job? Of course we don’t. We all want our
I am a 17-year-old junior at Port Saint Lucie High School. I plan on graduating with high honors and getting scholarships for college. When I graduate, I don’t plan on “taking a break” I plan on enrolling to a four-year college. I want to study in the medical field. I’m planning on majoring in being a nurse, or a registered nurse or a paramedic. My top two choices for colleges are located in Boston Massachusetts which are Northeastern University and Boston University. While being in college I also plan to have a part time job that will help me pay all my expenses.
After graduating high school mostly everyone has both high hopes and dreams, people whom have high hopes for the career life ahead of them seem to run into manys different obstacles along the way. After graduating high school I finally came to a conclusion of what I wanted to do with my life. My senior year in high school not only did my hopes change multiple times they also changed tremendously. One of the biggest obstacles that I ran into or that I face everyday is my cell phone. My cell phone is my biggest issue when it comes to anything its almost like its impossible for me to put it down. With social media being as big as it is today my head seems to stay in either instagram or snapchat 98% of the day. rather than my phone I seem to run
Many people ask me what are my plans after high school? Luckily, I have come to the decision to be in the military and attend a postsecondary education and major in Nursing with the intention of becoming a Pediatrician or becoming an Architect.
People have a big decision to make once they graduate high school. They have to ask themselves, “Do I go to college immediately, or do I take some time off?” If I were to ask myself that question, I would say, “I’m going to go to college right after high school.” I think it is better to go and get it over with right after high school. My reasons for this are, it is easier to continue an education if I go immediately, I will be done earlier, and I will have time to enjoy life later.
It’s optional for anyone to get a college education and end up being successful with and without the college education.
Figuring out how you are going to pay for college is the second most important thing and it makes a decision easier. I am still in high school working a full-time job at Belk. I give myself a budget for every two weeks and put the rest of my money in savings. I look up scholarships daily and am applying for as many as I can. $50-$10,000 scholarship is better than nothing and it keeps me out of debt at the end and that is what matters. Unfortunately, I do not have a rich family and no one will be handing me a lot of money for college, but that just means I need to work a little harder and there is nothing wrong with that. I will also be taking out student loans to help and my parents will be doing as much as they can. I ask myself questions like “Do I need to go to school because their football team is amazing” or “Do I need to focus on the long run” and “Is going to Kennesaw going to get me just as good of job as Alabama and save me a little bit more money”. So, even with all of these plans I know that I am still going to have debt, but the real picture to look at is how much debt do I want to have when I am already trying to find a job.
I am not quite sure what I want to do. I will be going to BONDS next year, and get my degree for esthetics. I plan to do esthetics on the side after high school, and continue my job where I work now, at Culver’s of Greer. I love this job and until I know for sure what I will be doing, I plan to still work there. My parents didn’t go to college, but I want to prove to them that I can be responsible and follow through with a large achievement. I would love to be an author, and I plan to take that at Greenville Tech and afterwards, got to a four-year college, such as, North Greenville University. Unless, my career with esthetics pays off. I also thought about being a lawyer. I want to make enough money to be able to gain custody of my younger brother, Brayden.
Many people attend post-secondary school for abundant reasons, some may be for themselves and others for their family. I am wanting to further my education for a list of reasons. First, I want to help my family out financially, due to my mom not being able to work due to lupus. She has been the main driving force behind everything I do knowing that everything that I do might be the last thing she sees. I want to be able to help my parents financially while attaining my dream job from my dream university. I hope to attend Navarro, majoring in kinesiology, during the summer and transfer to The University of Texas at San Antonio for the fall to finish my degree. I then hope to pursue a job as either a Graduate assistant or a high school football
Many students see college as the stepping stone to a successful career and a happy life. Which can be true for some, however, many overlook whether college will actually help them succeed, or if college will truly be right for them. College is expensive and it is not for every kid who graduates high school, although it is marketed that way, high school graduates must think critically about their decision. Should I take some time away from school, to know myself better? What do I intend to do for a career? Am I more interested in educating myself toward things that interests me now and discovering my major as I learn, or do I feel I know what I want to do? And also essential questions like, how much debt will I go into? And can I
In two years, I will be starting my senior year of high school. I’m still living at home and I am filling out college applications left and right. After finishing high school, I plan to take classes at a community college, then later transfer to a four year school. After my undergraduate is complete, I plan to go to graduate school to finish my schooling.
I’ve just entered my senior year of high school. I know that this is a very important year. I have a lot of decisions to make and not much time to make them. These decisions will either make or break my life, and I want to make sure that I make them to the best of my ability because there is no turning back. I need to make sure I definitely want to attend college. The decision is totally up to me. There are many positives and negatives of attending college. Go over them, and then decide. I know myself better then anyone else, and I won’t let anyone else tell me what to do. I will make sure if I am going to attend college that I have something in mind that I will want to do, to succeed in. Choosing a major can be a
Should High School student have to do a year of civil services right after high school? I believe that high school students should have to do one year of Civil Services right after high school. Here are three reasons why High School student should do a year of civil services right after high school. The first reason why It offers a valuable experience for high school students, it helps shift an individual’s thoughts and ways they view the world around them, it makes the individual have to work harder for what they want. If high school students don't do a year of civil services they won't know what it feels like to be relied on by your country, and much hard work that is put in to fighting for your country. It important to see different perspectives
After graduating high school, I had decided to take a path that is more common now than it used to be. I will be going to school at community college first to get general education course done right away and cheaper, then I will transfer over to a public school to finish off my bachelor’s degree. I thought long and hard on what I wanted to do for the rest of my life and I decided that I wanted to major in interior design and minor in business. As this is a growing industry, more and more people are starting to enroll in interior design programs. I know many people that are currently working at interior design companies and a few people who work independently. I want to work independently, hence the business minor. I would like to pursue my future career by starting at Ivy Tech Community College and end at Ball State University. This will minimize the amount of money I need to borrow and it will also decrease the amount of time I will need to be in school. Four years later, if I average the amount of tuition, fees, transportation, and books and supplies, I will be around $35,000- $40,000 in debt. This is about $10,000 a year.
