My goal is to become a Registered Dietitian and provide healthy eating resources in various community settings. My two special interests in nutrition is nutrition for adolescent athletes to support their growth and development as well as their performance, and nutrition for disease prevention and management for adults. My first degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is a Bachlor of Arts in dance. I am also a health screener for Interactive Health. I perform biometric screenings (blood pressure, waist circumference, BMI), then analyze those values and the client’s lab values (glucose, HDL, LDL, trigerlcyerides, and total cholesterol) to give them a snapshot of their health status and areas that could be improved. The field of dietetics will prepare me to fill a significant medical and humanitarian need in Milwaukee. As a returning adult student, I know this is the right career.
In 2006, UWM offered a Nutrition Certificate, which I added to my BA. I fell in love with the coursework. I learned that Americans spend billions annually on weight loss products, which have little data to support their claims. I learned about the rising obesity epidemic. I learned how the risk of developing chronic diseases could be minimized with a healthy diet and exercise.
I graduated from UWM in 2010 and returned in 2012 to earn a BS in Nutritional Sciences. I am learning how to apply chemistry, biology,
I have always had a passion for education and being at Saint Vincent Academy, I have grown into a passionate young woman. Academically, I have been exposed to many different classes such as American History, Women's History, Modern History, a very graphic freshman year health class, and Human Anatomy and Physiology. Each class has helped me in forming my passion of helping people and the ability to empathize. Through my history classes, I have learned about the need to help others and through my science classes, I have come to the decision to become a nutritionist/ registered dietician. My goal as a nutritionist is to help people take better care of themselves and it will start by acknowledging them on what they put into their body's and the
This summer, I will be attending Prefreshman Health Careers Academics and Enrichment Program at Howard University in Washington, DC. I plan to build on my knowledge of
I posses many strengths that will make me a successful dietetic intern, which include my abilities to multi-task and handle stress. I exhibited effective time management skills when I graduated with Cum Laude Honors, while simultaneously working five days a week for Clovis Unifies School District. While working for Clovis Unified School District I received two promotions, which indicates that I have a strong work ethic and take initiative. My education and the experience I have acquired working at Madera Community Hospital have allowed me to develop a strong understanding of medical nutrition therapy and foodservice management. I also possess strong interpersonal skills, as I am always very respectful and professional when interacting and with my peers and superiors. My strong leadership and communication skills were demonstrated when I was responsible for supervising eight staff members and overseeing an afterschool program at with over 100 students enrolled. This required a great deal of responsibility, as I was required to communicate with parents, school officials, and my staff effectively.
I have studied human biosciences and nutrition within my health science diploma/degree; both of these have brought me valuable skills and knowledge to succeed in this role.
Going to college has been a dream of mine growing up. I am the first ever in my family to go to college but figuring out how to pay for it has been a challenge. I desire to achieve my academic and career goals and this scholarship can help me succeed in my journey.
Montclair State University and I posses a common vision. I, like MSU believe in the power of thinking critically and acting ethically in every possible aspect of my life. I have chosen to study Nutrition at Montclair because I want to help people make educated lifestyle choices and develop healthy habits, which has always been a dream of mine. Because I intend to pursue a career in dietetics, I see Montclair State University as an ideal place for me. Offering impressive coursework and programs that will quench my thirst for knowledge, this university will prepare me for a dietetic internship and provide me the confidence of knowing that I would be getting an excellent education in nutrition at a top school with consistently high ratings.
I am submitting the enclosed resume for consideration of the data technician position in the nutrition services department at Beaumont Hospital – Troy. Very early in my life, I acquired a strong interest in nutrition and individuals who have special dietary needs. My continued interest has prompted me to take classes in exercise science/nutrition, human anatomy and biology in high school and college.
I hadn’t always wanted to become a dietician, but my love of helping others, my family’s encouragement, and my interest in nutrition has made me come to the conclusion that dietetics would be the ideal field for me. Through my own life experiences, I have seen that nutrition and exercise play a huge factor into the health of an individual. For this reason, I want to be able to assist others with their goals and hardships, in addition to,
As a prospective Biology major and Veterinarian, I hope to gain experience working with plants and animals in the field of Biology and consider internships with veterinarians. I plan to put my experience and qualifications to use by applying for an accredited veterinary college. Upon acceptance, I will strive towards earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM). If I do not gain acceptance into a veterinary medicine program, then I will steer myself more towards the forensic science fields. A degree and certification in veterinary medicine is appealing and preferable to me. However, to keep my options open, the field of forensic science and crime scene investigations will serve as
Over the past six years, I have been committed to gaining as much work experience in the dietetic field as possible, regardless paid or volunteer, along with my academic course

After my high school graduation, I started my college life at Dean to figure out which career suits me the most. I began my journey by taking a wide variety of health science courses, to explore my potentials. Fascinated by how nutrition influences the human body, I have enjoyed
To be honest, I am not really sure what profession I want to pursue after college. I would actually like to try many different things in hopes of finding a career that matters to me personally and that is why I am drawn to the idea of a liberal arts education. I am drawn to the schools peaceful surrounding community and its motivation to instill a sense of civic duty. When I visited Bates over the summer I was intrigued by the campus and the students that were still there. The serene nature of Maine was another one of the factors that interested me. I was in awe at how tightly connected the alumni was to the school and how all of the students were treated the same. The idea that no one will slip through the cracks and that the teachers and
My academic goal is to graduate Argosy University with a bachelors degree in Forensic Psychology in three years time. Forensic Psychology is the study of the criminal mind, in a nutshell. The main motivation to achieve this goal would be intrinsic. I love asking questions and knowing the answers as to why people do what they do, and in a criminals case, what led them to committing the crime. This goal, however, may have some extrinsic motivation as well. Being knowledgeable about certain behaviors that criminals poses may help solve or even prevent a crime. In addition, having a degree will help open different paths in life, ones that may present me with greater job opportunities. My attitude toward the learning process will help my achievement of each goal because I am eager, determined and motivated. My greatest desire is to succeed in life, and obtaining an education is one thing I know will help me. I perhaps will need to make some adjustments along my journey. I do not know yet if I will find another educational path that intrigues me the most. For now, I do not feel that any adjustments need to be made.
